Sorry we are late getting this video up! Lori and I are on the road at media drive events this week and the hotel we are at currently has super slow wifi! Thank you so much for understanding and taking the time to watch. We really can't do this without you. Let Dodge know in the comments section how you feel about this Demon 170 and if you are happy with the electrification direction they are going in for next year. They will be reading these comments!

Indubitably. Itās the greatest muscle car ever built. 1.66 seconds to 60 mph is insane. And I was watching videos of this car doing wheelies off the line as it explodes into speed. Canāt wait to see what Dodge does with even greater technology coming up.

I think Dodge has shown the rest of the manufacturers that America still has what it takes to build the ultimate drag/street car ever made. I am a huge Mopar fan started with my first car 273 HEMI to my pickup with a 6.4L to my 49 Plymouth that has a 5.7 L.

Vor 2 MonateJ Bil +1
@Raiti's Rides big would have been 1200+ horsepower, all this is is a suped up version of every iteration of the hellcat that they have rehashed after 2018...Tesla will smoke this car on the street and on the track unless literally EVERYTHING is perfect on the launch, the weather the ethenol fuel quality etc...and still have to worry about the engine blowing. Vor 2 MonateIvanās Reviews
My dealership sold it yesterday to the previous owner. It was only $50k I believe. But I hear that $100k is the normal markup for these.
Vor 2 MonateMatt Rodriguez
The dealerships will literally frontrun the future appreciation of this car and use its rarity to justify doing so. Anyone buying any flagship in hopes of flipping it in the future for decent profit is going to be sitting on them for a long time. With the way things are going in the US I wouldn't at all be surprised if this car is no longer road legal in the future. Clearly they are trying to put ICE vehicles in a chokehold and I can definitely see regulations that would keep this car from being legally registered because of how much fuel it consumes. They could also impose heavy taxes on fuel in the future which would essentially make this car too expensive to recreationally drive. Stellantis took a really poor approach in getting the 2023 flagships into enthusiasts hands and the only people who will benefit from it are dealerships who have limited allocations that are able to completely gouge the consumer for ridiculous markups. I'm sitting on the sidelines in anticipation for when this market flips over. Lots of people with 1k+ car payments that are underwater due to egregious markups. I personally don't think this climate is sustainable. Fingers crossed that there will be huge saturation in the secondary market in a few years and banks or dealerships are begging people to buy their diluted inventory at a more realistic price pointš¤

What a monster !!!! Very nice. Thanks Joe and Lori. Always proud of Chrysler's Canadian made vehicles. PS: my daily driver is a 1997 Canadian made Intrepid with 360,000 km's. The most reliable vehicle I have ever owned.
Vor 2 MonateRaiti's Rides +1
Oh wow that is awesome!
Vor 2 MonateRJ Colombe +1
That's impressive. While the Gen One Intrepid was well designed in many ways, it's reliability typically wasn't as great as the peers in its class. Chrysler simply didn't have (and has admitted) the engineering funding of GM or Toyota to back up the great design of the vehicle.
Vor 2 MonateMike James - Drummer, Regina, Canada +1
@RJ Colombe ...did you own one? What engine did your Intrepid have. The 3.3 L V6 was ULTRA RELIABLE. The 3.5 was more complex and they had problems. Mercedes owned Chrysler in 1997 I believe and amazing they were short of money. Maybe they were all lemons and I got the only good one...the most reliable and lowest repair costs I've ever had. I'm sure a lucky fellow....LOL.
Vor 2 Monateartillerybuff2000 +2
Very glad to hear they are planning to build a total of 3,300 of these. I was afraid the number was going to be much lower. I have two 1320 Challengers and they will have built fewer of these in five years of total production than this and the original Demon. Now if only my local dealer will sell one to me at MSRP...
Vor 2 MonateGary Szewc
3000 is the maximum they will build. Plus maximum 300 for Canada. One of the other videos that came out the same day that evidently nobody has seen, has the Chrysler exec talking about it. He said depending on supply issues and such it could be as low as 1700. There is a timeline they have to meet.
Vor 2 Monateartillerybuff2000
@Gary SzewcĀ Doesn't matter anyway. The very few that are allowed to purchase one are paying 50k or even more over sticker to get it, and that is just crazy!

Vor 2 Monaterfair123
Great job Man! Dodge Nailed it IMO right down to the color scheme, my favorite Mopar of all time (except maybe a Calvo Viper) and I've had a few. Kids are headed to college so may be time! I personally HATE the lame electric vehicles, I'm into large scale RC planes and it was a short lived fad in the hobby until people realized what a Pia they are (proper charger, proper maintenance, proper storage, proper charge time and having to bring numerous batteries for the day etc..) how dangerous the Lipos are and the fact that those batteries degrade and then become paper weights after so many cycles. Batteries are not cheap. Electric vehicles is like "global warming" the latest crisis touted by those who stand to turn it into the next big wealth opportunity. Shame on Dodge for their wokeness.
Vor 2 MonateEnder Martin +4
With this being the last year, I'm pulling out all the stops to finally throw down some cash for the Challenger I've always dreamed of. Wish I could afford this monster, but I'll have to settle for a Scat Pack. Still a terrific car! I'm not crazy about the idea of "electric muscle cars". Something about gasoline engines gives cars a beating heart, soul, and sexiness that electric just can't match. Society is overcorrecting in the direction of electric. Hopefully, someday people will wake up to reality and understand that we can find a way to be environmentally responsible while still having fun once in a while... and bring back real gas-powered muscle cars again! I would be happy with an electric (or hydrogen) car as my daily driver, with a gas-powered muscle car for a little weekend fun. The balance of the universe means responsibility with enough room left for some occasional moments of pure joy!

I also wondered why Dodge was inviting all Demon owners to the event and now it makes sense. Thanks for the video Rob! I catch as many as I can each week!
Vor 2 MonateScotty N
Right off the showroom floor, you can go to the track and compete as it sits. Those drag radials are meant for one thing straight line performance. Hard to argue about how impressive it is bone stock. I know Joe is itching to launch this down the 1320.
Vor 2 MonateRaiderKev +1
Thank you so much for the review. I truly wish the mark ups on these cars wonāt be so crazy. I know I would never be in line to get one, but this would be the car of my dreams. I really wish Dodge would have more control of what the dealerships do and give a man like myself who could afford the car the opportunity to get it. Regardless this is absolutely a great example of what makes dodge the car company that I love. 1000 hp muscle production vehicle with a warranty thatās what dreams are made of.
Vor 2 MonateLAMONT WATERS +4
That hood looks good with the roof and rear spoiler matched in black. But I am wondering if they are making too many "special" versions. If they make too many special versions it kind of makes them less special.
Vor 2 MonateRaiti's Rides +1
Because it is the end of the road!
Vor 2 MonateObunga Pyramid
Only 2 of the 7 were truly special, that being this DC170 and the Charger Super Bee. Everything else was just quick cash grab before they ended production. Annoying way to dilute the lineup but at the very least puts out more hellcats and scats in rotation for potential new buyers later throughout the years since a lot of hellcats are beyond used and abused right now.
Vor 2 MonateFacundo Gonzalez
@Obunga Pyramid yeah there's a lot of videos of Charger and Challenger being damaged and abused, so having a well maintened Hellcat or ScatPack is not going to be that easy.
Vor 2 MonateTerry Rutherford
Pretty much faster in the quarter than any US production car, maybe foreign cars too. Sub 9 seconds...WTF? I love GM. The new Z06, Eray and CT5V Blackwing are cool, but this would destroy them in a straight line. Good job Dodge. Thanks for the video Joe!

Just so weird to think about how this is it. Will be strange 5,10,15⦠years down the road to see what becomes of the vehicle world. Seems weāre getting some some ālast callā models from different automakers. The new Z, Manual Supra, the dodge lineup. Itāll be fun and yes indeed sad to see the last of the combustion engines that come out but hopefully we keep getting these last pieces of history
Vor 2 MonateRRF
Don't worry when sales crash on ev they will be back
Vor 2 MonateSamuel H +1
@RRF I think sales on EVs will keep going up and up, especially if they get more affordable options (even though affordable is a lost word these days). They are being pushed so hard, and most automakers seem to be jumping on the ship because they donāt want to be behind. What will be interesting is to see what happens are things like where are all these chargers going to go, are apartment complexes going to have wires running everywhere, or California asking people not to use electricity, maybe thatāll happen in other states, or when these batteries start dying where do they all go. I think weāll be with EV for a little but hopefully too many problems arise and they die off again, though I bet it will make a switch back to hybrids. Honestly we shouldāve focused on hybrids instead of jumping to EV. I will still always dream of owning a beautiful V8 combustion engine

I'm happy with my 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack finished in Smoke Show Gray, and it's fully loaded. But I sure would love to have me one of these Demon 170.... Hearing him start that up gave me goosebumps. Now I must upgrade my exhaust to be way louder, haha.

Two things Joe.... 1. You sure that's a car and not a F22 Raptor Stealth Fighter Jets in disguise? And... 2. I'm holding you to your words in going on throttle on such a magnificent and awesome beast. You owe us!!!!

The demon is back but can be corn fed with E85 but the power is beyond outrageous but this is the final send off of the Dodge V8 muscle cars

I Freaking love it and i want one!, That final farewell model is just insane, Dodge just went all out on the last Combustion engine Challenger over 1000hp from a production road legal Monster of a car, i applaude you Dodge
Vor 2 MonateBowhunters
I read about this car but had not seen it, you got it on video Joe ! This is a BEAST, a MONSTER on wheels, yes with 1025HP it is the best Muscle Car that i've seen. One thing for sure is that the police that try to catch this are not going to get a break !

Absolutely the greatest production muscle car ever. The only problem I have is that the Challenger is ending. I truly don't understand that thinking.
Vor 2 Monatetwoeightythreez
The car is overdue to be replaced, but would be nice if they offered a V8 for at least 5 more years

I think if you can afford this, wait for the next mega powered corvette to launch. Yes it's going to cost more, but this demon is going to easily go for $150,000 or more after dealer markups. That's just my opinion.
Vor 2 Monatepjkr123
Let's hope that the next gen challenger will be just a mild hybrid (to fulfill emission regulations), WITH an option (or limited production perhaps) of manual transmission for the next 3 years!

This is one bad ass challenger! Unfortunately, youāre going to have to be somebody special in order to score one of these from what Iāve been reading, dealership, owners, and people of that ilk will be the ones to get first crack at them with you leave probably next to none for the average guy although the average guy canāt afford $100,000 car I know I canāt but if I could, I would buy one of these if I can get my hands on one.
Vor 2 MonateRaiti's Rides

Vor 2 MonateLuscious3174 +2
Good luck finding a gas station that carries E85 - it's hard enough finding diesel in a lot of places still. Hard to see this being a daily driver though. Those tires are going to have a tough time driving in the wet even with traction control. Handling hasn't been the strong point of the Challenger so if this really is just a straight line ripper in the dry that's another zonk against it as well. I remember when these first came out back when Dodge Chrysler was still in bed with Mercedes. Went to my local dealer and took one for a test drive - managed to spin a 180 coming off the freeway off ramp because the traction control was turned off. No harm done but it was a wake up call to really pay attention when driving these things, never mind the supercharged Hurst variants. I'm sad as well they no longer offer the detonator yellow - that was my favorite color for sure.

It all depends on where you live. This still pumps out 900HP on E10
