@Christina P sorry, 3rd part. God needed something we could all put our faith in. Something within our time that would last, something everyone who looked at it could understand it was an act of pure love, an act of God. That act was the life of Jesus Christ. The perfect sinless man who spent his entire life helping, healing, and teaching everyone the proper path, only the be crucified by his own people, yet he still asked for mercy for them. God sent his only son to earth to die as an act of love for us to be saved. Jesus Christ willingly walked to his cross every day he lived. It was all because God loved you enough to want to save you. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins even though he didn’t have to. An act of pure Love. For all humanity to bare witnesses to. That’s why he is the one path to the father. Because we all recognize the love in this act. Even if you don’t believe it, you recognize it’s greatness. The blood he shed for us gave us an opportunity to receive Grace. All it takes is a little faith. Just be genuine and open your heart to the possibility. Read those three books please. And forgive others. That really is an important key a lot of people miss.

Vor Monat
James Mayle
James Mayle

@Christina P 2nd part, sorry it’s long, please read. Also, god did not create man with sin on purpose. I understand why you think that, all powerful all knowing, everything must be exactly as he wanted it. That’s actually not true. God created the angels with pieces of his power. They were independent helpers used to fight the darkness before the beginning. A piece of omnipotence is still pretty powerful. Plus these are beings that exist outside time. Everything happens at the same instance for them. Imagine a glass cube in a lit room. You flick the lights out and back on. In that brief second was there any place in that cube that the darkness did not touch? No. That’s kinda what we’re talking about. God created everything there would ever be in one snap, but in that snap his strongest angel who he needed to create to fight the darkness fell, was imprisoned, and caused man to fall on purpose all at the same snap. It’s complicated. God still has rules he has to follow. Being at this level don’t have the luxury of dining whatever they want. They are bound by their nature. God is love, literally, everything he does must always be for the greatest good for all. Plus, he literally must be fair. I have always thought that the fruit from the tree of knowledge was always supposed to be eaten, but it was something we were supposed to grow before we ate it. Like how if you were perfect at kung fu from the beginning, you wouldn’t appreciate your power, you’d grow rotten. Some things need to be bitter before they’re sweet. That’s why hard work is so important. It teaches you to appreciate what you have, and tempers you. By eating the fruit too early, while god was being temporarily blinded by someone with a bit of his own power, the root of humanity was spoiled. Omnipotence is kinda problematic too. What’s done cannot be undone, just added to. It’s like a game of snake. God can’t cross his own path. Sorta. Remember, he created all of us, you and me, at that same instance he was blinded, he kinda established all of our immortal souls into the foundation of the spiritual realm before he even knew what went wrong. An omnipotent being created our souls to be immortal. That’s not easily undone. Especially since we, you and me, would technically have still existed in a collective soul pool outside time. The entire tree was created, just waiting for the seconds to sprout the next branch. If god wanted to create the perfect sinless world at this point he’d have two options basically. Create something capable of killing immortal souls, and if so many angels fell with the devil, I’m sure you can understand how that could cause problems. The other option, cast the entire tree of humanity into the fire, before we’re even born. Immortal souls have to exist somewhere. God is love hope joy peace and light. Separation from him is being without those things for eternity, basically eternal hate pain fear and darkness, aka Hell. That’s what Hell is, separation from God and all that he is. God loves us enough to want to give us a chance. That’s why he invented grace to forgive sin. But god is love, and love must be fair. God can’t play favorites like humans. What he offers one he offers all. If one sin dangs the devil, one sin dangs all. If he blanket forgives our sins, he must forgive the devil too. That’s create a horrible reality where hate and evil rained unchecked. Sin would be the law of the universe. Only the takers would have. God needed a delivery system for grace, something everyone had equal access to regardless of time education wealth freedom geography etc. something every human could pay, but the devil never would. The only thing we all have is Faith, the ability to act on our beliefs. That’s what faith is, not belief, actions based on belief. You have faith, it’s just about where you’re putting it. You trust science maybe, but if the Bible is correct, wouldn’t you suspect a vast network of people connected on a spiritual level to bar entry to certain fields of study? And it’d be so wide they wouldn’t even have to know about each other to make it work. Like the devil could be whispering into everyone’s ears directing everyone to go after what they want, all the whole guiding them to do his will. So a student that wants to study geography and is intellectually honest, might get derailed by his family’s financial problems, his social class, a bad break up, difficulties getting a job, etc. most people wouldn’t even be aware they were hurting him on purpose, just listening to the little voice in their head that tells them how to get what they want. They wouldn’t even have to be fully aware that that voice wasn’t their own. God and the devil are like extra dimensional wavelengths of thoughts feelings and intents. Like a cube but we’re on a 2d plane. God is love hope joy peace and light. The devil is hate pain fear and darkness. Those are just the edges we can perceive of the larger entities. My point is you trust, you place your faith that this isn’t the case, and you accept what society agrees with what the scientist say, even though neither of us probably have any real way to investigate their claims at all. Technically we could read their work, but actually examining the evidence personally, is that something you can literally do? I can’t. So much money involved to try to independently verify anything. Plus, if the Bible is true, you’d also expect for money to be heavily dependent on working for the devil, at least that’s what the Bible says the world is. My point is you have faith, you’re just not using it for God. Try this please, a mustard seed of faith for God. Read three books of the Bible with an open heart, genuinely. The first book of each testament, Genesis and Matthew, and one book you chose yourself. As you do practice forgiveness, it’s actually important, it heals a piece of your soul that keeps you blind to spiritual things. Also, pray to Jesus Christ by yourself first. Just be genuine and open up, and ask for forgiveness. I’m not asking for over night conversion, just be open to the possibility enough to try. A mustard seed of faith, just try. Please. And please remember, God is Love. We were made in his image. Not the image of a man. The image of Love. Be open to that. You will see. It doesn’t take any money to open your eyes. Jesus Christ is Lord. Bless you.

@Christina P I thought those exact same things once. As I grew older I developed a deeper understanding. Slavery for instance, God doesn’t say do it. He says if you do it follow these rules. It’s kinda complicated, but you just have to think about early times a bit deeper. Those people existed before education, technology, and they lived in the worst environment, surrounded by people doing the same thing, and worse. Slavery was always going to happen. God couldn’t outlaw it then. It was fundamental to the world economy, still for thousands of years after Jesus Christ. God had to work slowly, on a generational level. If you tell people they must change everything about themselves at once they reject you. God had to work gradually, building his people up to where he wanted them step by step. The golden rule actually prohibits slavery. It’s pretty simple. Love your neighbor as yourself. Would you like to be a slave? No. So don’t own people. Everyone who takes Jesus Christ’s lessons to heart comes to this conclusion. As for the R bit. You’ve got to consider the times. First off about the stoning. Yeah, that’s a law, for reasons though. Some women used R as an excuse for infidelity. That’s still wrong. You’ve got to look at what Jesus Christ taught though, take the entire Bible into context, not just the bits that make your point. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We’re not the judges. That is the duty of Jesus Christ alone. If Jesus Christ condemns someone, then everyone after him is to throw next. He is the only one able to decide who gets stoned. He came after the law of Moses, to complete it. But yeah, some women probably got stoned. It’s sad. But there were other reasons too, still bad, but bloodlines were important and needed to be maintained because the foundation needed to be laid for Jesus Christ to be born. As for the marriage bit. That’s more of a necessity of the time. Women’s value was their maiden hood. It’s sad, but true. If a woman was deflowered nobody would want to marry her. It was a horrible thing for that time period. It would mean that that woman would most likely have to turn tricks to survive, depending on her family’s social status. Also, this was used as a loophole for Romeo and Juliet type scenarios. If a father wanted to marry his daughter off to a rich guy, but she loved the boy next door, they could stage an R, ruining her value to the rich family, and guaranteeing her love had her hand in marriage. Also, it was not an absolute requirement. The woman had a choice, and for the time period this was not the worst option. It’d be traumatizing most likely, either way. But, it’s not like her family would just forget about her or stop loving her. That guy would basically be her slave. The family would ensure that they lived nearby, and her father and brothers would beat him into submission. Just because the laws are cold, doesn’t mean these weren’t people still. They used the laws to their advantage like we all do. Plus, they could and would still just kill the guy. A famous case happened to the daughter of Jacob in the Bible. A prince fell in love with her on first sight, she was like 12, and he forced her. His father came to Jacob later asking for her to be wed to his son. Like you’re saying, absolutely horrible in every way, I’m in complete agreement. And so was her family. Jacob’s sons struck a deal with the king. A trick. They said that they couldn’t allow their sister to marry outside of their people, but if the king and all his men were to join them, getting circumcised, they’d allow it. The king agreed, and all his men were circumcised. Under the cover of darkness, while the city’s men were incapacitated, they attacked and slaughtered all the men of the city, the king and prince as well. You have to remember nobody is perfect. When you see a law you don’t like, do you really care about what’s written? That’s another reason grace exists. People will be people. Nobody is going to try to be absolutely perfect. Grace forgives transgressions against the law.

My best friend and his family are from Cork and he and his mom and dad are the BEST storytellers in the world. I laugh, cry, it’s a whole rollercoaster. They won the lottery to come to the US and I’m grateful everyday because how how warm and loving they are. They treat me like another daughter and I hope to visit I Ireland with them. Their stories about the troubles are so moving. My dad and I send Dave’s videos to them all of the time.

I was at my grandmas funeral and beforehand my aunt was looking at a headstone sadly and I asked my mom who's it was and she just said "oh, that's your cousin" and I was like HUH!?! Turns out I have a second cousin who was supposed to be the same age as me but died when she was a baby and I had no idea until two years ago

I think every family has a secret. It wasn't until my brother was in his late 30s that he saw my parents wedding certificate which was dated a couple months before he was born. When my brother asked my mother about it, "Nunya! What's it to ya!"

This sounds like a joke my Maternal Grandma would do. Idk about my Paternal grandma as she would make amazing dark jokes but she was a very devout Catholic so I don’t know how far her jokes would go
