Hey everyone, Some of you may have noticed some silent black weirdness at the end of this video. Unfortunately, some time after I reviewed the edit, when our rockstar editor Conor was initially exporting the footage, a certain infamously unstable editing program (cough cough, Premiere cough cough) crashed and some of the settings got jacked up. This caused the analogue horror first cut ending some of you extra-enthusiastic Linked-heads may have seen. Fortunately Conor--who is again a rockstar--kindly and remotely re-exported the footage in the way it was meant to be seen. Not a director's cut, since I'm not a director, but a writer's cut if you will. Thanks for bearing with us as we fix this and I'm sorry for letting you down on this one. I will try my absolute best to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. -JR

You forgot to mention the best part about the TB testing cartridges which is that this change was brought about by YouTuber John Green making a video criticizing their price gouging for something that could save lives. Recently John has become a huge advocate in the fight against TB. In another one of his recent video he criticize Johnson and Johnson for trying to extend a patent on one of their TB medication which resulted in Johnson and Johnson allowing third-party manufacturers to make that medication at a lower cost. Those videos in their follow-ups are worth a watch. It’s really cool to see people coming from YouTube being able to make such a tangible and widespread positive impact.

On the subject of processors, I know there's not exactly a consortium of nomenclature or whatever, but when will the industry switch from the "nanometer" process to the angstrom process, or is it more likely to skip the angstrom altogether and head straight to the picometer to keep the -meter suffix? In a few years, we'll likely get transistors smaller than 1nm, so I'm curious as to when we get to that point, say 0.5nm, will the process be called "0.5nm," "5 angstrom," or "500pm" process?
Vor 2 Monate@edwxx20001 +8
well intel has already ditched nm all together. the tsmc "3" nm isn't a real measure of the size of the transistor and samsung's process on the same nm as tsmc isn't the same transistor density. intel is giving a future process the A before it, but not calling it Angstrom just the letter to imply. the point being the naming/numbering is nothing but marketing.
Vor 2 Monate@eniff2925
Density is what matters
Vor 2 Monate@lycanthoss +3
The nanometers and angstroms mean nothing, it's all marketing, which is why Intel renamed their processes to be equivalent to TSMC.
Vor 2 Monate@Ubya_ +2
As others said, transistors are still in the range of hundreds of nanometers, the difference is that they aren't planar. The nanometer nomenclature is used to say that the current technology would be equivalent to a planar transistor of that size
Vor 2 Monate@johndoh5182 +1
So first these are advertising numbers, although they do relate to an increase in transistor density. Second, the companies themselves don't refer to their nodes as 3nm or 7nm. They each have their own naming convention. Only Intel has stated what it will do when the numbers drop down to 2 and below, in which case they go Intel 7, Intel 4, Intel 3, Intel 20A. TSMC and Samsung as far as I know haven't specified what they do when going below the number 2, but I believe that for what YOU would call 2nm, TSMC will simply call it N2, but this isn't complete because TSMC makes different variants of the same node so there can be something like N2P For Samsung their numbering goes like 7N, 5N, 4N, etc.............. Once again they have variations of the same node so there can be multiple letters assigned.

Intel has zero chance of picking up any of this market. Even going into the future, if any company moves away from AMD it won't be to move to Intel, it will be to move to ARM64 either with their own custom CPU or with Nvidia. Microsoft's Xbox that comes out in 2028 for instance is when Microsoft wants to move to their own ARM64 processor and stick with AMD for the graphics.

This looks like state housing slum, I hope you get your money back. Well done for what you have to work with. No workshop, garaging or substantial garden & far to close to other humans for me. Unless I'm being paid retirement money for a year of being there. Don't need to live close with a small foot print, you can't even feed your family from there

Now, "if you don't have spare cash, you can't pay for the ambulance anyway" - What does that mean? Aren't ambulances "free", aka paid from the health insurance?
