Wow! What a Adrenaline rush!!! I remembered my mountain biking days from 1992 to 2000. A drunk driver hit me while I was driving a van. Three years of recovery. Now in my 60's. Great sportsmanship! Sir!

I broke my neck and had a heart attack just watching this. Incredible stamina!

That gave me goose bumps, especially at the end with all the little kids surrounding the riders. Thank you!

All of your videos are enjoyable to watch, but this one was on another level for me. First, the route and scenery were both so beautiful! Second, how easily you overtake people, your timing and breakaway speed, are all incredible to watch. On top of all of it you are laughing, having a good time, and encouraging the others. Truly epic races and racer!

Wow! I've been mountainbiking for about 30 years and this is the most awesome mtb video I've ever seen! I'd probably go about 1/10 of his speed on the same trail though (and walk a lot of it!)! I especially love how polite he is to everybody throughout. A true gentleman!

Just incredible, Kilian! You really put everything into this – especially in the second part showing the earlier race. I really appreciate that you share these POV videos so we can all come along for the ride on what must be a truly exhilarating experience. What I want to know is: what the hell is your resting heart rate? I mean, you must be one of the fittest dudes on the planet 😀 And how cute are those kids at the end? Haha!

Most amazing part is how skilled everyone is at stopping. In America every bike race is massive pileups and crashes as they all go full speed Into a mangled mess of riders.

Morning run (start in pole position): - start 25:00 - finish 45:13 (get on the asphalt, not sure where the finish line is) Total 20:13 Second guy arrives about 1:50 later... Afternoon run (start in the back): - start 0:17 - finish 24:11 Total 23:54

the crazy part is realizing just how far ahead he was. it was good miunte or two before second place even came in behind him... lol no wonder why so many just let him pass in the first half of the video, they were like.. I dont stand a chance.. may as well let him pass... at least that would be my reasoning at that point.

How on EARTH is this dude so much faster and smoother than the entire pack??!! He hits square edge bumps, drop offs, goes off trail and deals with any and all obstacles faster than people on smooth ground. It's as if he always has one more gear!. What an unbelievable show of talent!!...

Been watching this guy for years and dont ride, always been astonished by the sheer skills and self control over himself. When you can see the burning passion someone has for there sport, its always so intense to watch.

Though I appreciate the technical skills and the physical effort (congrats!), I do not like the way most riders do not care for other rider's safety. Overtaking recklessly and cutting in front of others seems an acceptable rule, but I believe that's a dangerous sports also and running for passion over the limits should be don wiuth individual sports only. I think there should be no pleasure to do something that is harmful for others.

No E-bike. Kilian is known for his pedaling stamina. He’s probably the best climber. It’s his downhill that there are others [top notch] faster than him.

Aside from his skill and fitness its amazing how everybody seems to know him and cheers him up (riders and spectators). He is probably a local Legend. And deserves it to be!!

I'd love for you to add a speedometer on your camera so we can see how fast you're going. It's insanely impressive just how fast you are!

He could turn that on with the gopro, but you take a hit to battery life when you turn all that on.

@Hiztry 45 km/h is extremely fast, especially due to all the deceleration. He probably did 80 km/h on his fast sections.

I was thinking how neat it would be to have an overlay that showed speed, gear, position, elevation, and course progress. Most of which could be recorded as telemetry.

I’m impressed by how friendly ( well as friendly as is possible) Kilian is when he passes someone. Everyone is super competitive yet there seems to be a certain respect shown for each other

What a sick ride! This guy is hell of fast! He past everyone with ease on some sketchy turns too. Great video camera. Stable footage.

It's genuinely awesome that Kilian showed up for this event. For those local/regional riders to have the opportunity to race a legit world talent is a special day for them. it shows the disparity between a normal human and these pro level riders, it's a huge gap in ability and fitness.

Reminds me of a rock climbing competition I was in where Jimmy Webb showed up. Unreal.

No size rock is a challenge.

Having a quality bike makes a lot of difference.

I was amazed that some riders we’re using their brakes in the paved sections; not a good tactic in a race like this. Pavement is a surface to accelerate on, pass other riders and maintain speed for the dirt sections where it’s more difficult to pass

You are the man. Had to watch the video again and wonder if when I was in my prime growing up in NYC I would have been as good as you, or better. Now I am 70 and I really enjoy your videos. It reminds me of crazy stuff we did when I was in the military.

This was epic. It started frantic and was almost meditative at the bottom. The changes in scenery and weather were amazing. This was a great example of pedaling power and precision. This reminds me of SEAL training a little bit in a way lol. 1000s join at once, then thru the grueling process you either break something, or get too tired and flip. So just how many people ACTUALLY end up completing this lol

This guy’s conditioning is insane! Yea he clearly has a lot of technical ability, but to do that race back to back like that is nuts. I would of gassed out a quarter of the way through the first run.

@R K There is electric mountain bikes, I see older guys using them on the trails near me. They say you can still get a good workout in on them in low mode and if you really want to go fast you can turn up the power. It's not like a dirt bike where you push a throttle and go. There's a motor that helps make turning the pedals easier. A common one I see is the specialized turbo levo, but anyways these are normal bikes not e bikes.

Wow that was intense riding from what looks to be some nail biting moments on those cliffs and passing people going down hill is very scary he seems to know every part of this trail. It is truely amazing he didn't crash early in the race. Good job on keeping the camera clean and I enjoyed your atheletic endeavor from the comfort of my office without breaking a sweat.
