@FinnishArmy nup. it is for every single airline, from singapore airlines and emirates to ryanair and spirit. every single airline has training for flight attendants. it is required. the amount of training may differ between airlines. im pretty sure that shortest one currently is like around 4 weeks if the airline only has like one single type of plane

there were some aspects of this video, along with the latest ones, that just really made me miss the old format. Michelle has always been a positive person but she always knew when to be serious, be attentive, and actually think of what would happen if the scenario was real. this video threw me off from how jokey she was the entire time, the rushed/choppy feel of it overall, and the lack of substance of what actually happens in the TRAINING to become a flight attendant. we didnβt see any actual training efforts, just simulations she was seemingly thrown in. been a long supporter of hers and this series but feeling further away than ever from where she started this series at

I truly love your content, but I feel as though you havenβt been taking the videos as seriously as before and you arenβt including as much information about these challenges. I seriously love your long, more document style content. I would watch a video that is an hour long. I would love to see you explain the difficulties about the challenges you face. @ryan ciani actually a LOT of people prefer the long-form youtube videos these days! she takes them very seriously. most people hold his own camera and does all the work if anything this is a bit professional for just a video. this is plenty of information. if you want something long go turn on your tv. nobody wants an hour long video. thats way to long for a video. most people wont watch a video thats an hour

*dont get me wrong..ive been a subscriber for long, but I noticed this in the paramedic episode too and now in this one...Michelle you're such a fun personality but at times honestly I think when the professionals are giving you directions or story telling, sometimes you give off major unserious vibes...Im trying to put it as kindly as I can, but when the professional is telling you a story of how serious the situation can be and you're shaking your head or laughing in disbelief I think during such incidents, professionalism from your side can be implemented more. Considering that you've been so tough and inspiring through all the previous challenges, it was quite surprising to see you panic and break into pure chaos at the sight of the fire during the intro. Because by this point in the episode series I don't think seeing an extinguisher or a fire was "a first". Obviously you're no professional and create these videos to show us the behind-the-scenes of what each career looks like, but through it all i think it could portray a bit more professionalism from your end:)*

Michelle, I really encourage you to consider a disclaimer with this video. Flight attendant training academies are a financial grift. Absolutely no person wishing to be an FA should ever PAY for their training. Any airline hiring an FA candidate will train their employees, as we have different commands and security unique to each airline. These companies come with NO guarantee of a job after. Applying to become a flight attendant is more competitive than getting into Harvard. There are typically 100K applications for just a thousand or so spots every year. I LOVE your videos, and it is always fascinating to learn of the different unique jobs that keep us all going. Additionally, the pay, hours and expectations of begin a flight attendant or extraordinarily taxing. I realize you are focused on eye catching content, but the less pleasant side of careers is an important factor as well. It would do so many young flight attendants I've met well to truly understand teh commitment, financial and time sacrifice we all make. sincerely and with gratitude, a washed up old flight attendant.

On the last several Challenge Accepted videos I've noticed there's quite a lot of comments from people about the video being too short and that they miss the longer videos. I still very much enjoy watching these videos and appreciate the amount of time, money and effort it took to get these made. However, I do agree that the videos aren't as impactful as they used to be and that it often feels a bit lacking in depth and substance. I'm sure it's been a conscious decision from Michelle and the team to cut the videos short and I'm honestly curious to why that's the case. I'll gladly keep watching these but I would certainly love it if they'd go back to a longer and more in depth format.
Vor MonatWouter V.
@Zephyr but the retention is 100% which is something youtube tracks, The spiffing brit did a video on it a while ago, if you watch a 10min video fully instead of half of a 20 min video the algorithm takes the first scenario as meaning it's a better video.
Vor 11 TageScooby Doo
Yes! before it was like a documentary, and now it's like a Mr. Beast video. Both serve their own purposes, but it is harder to empathize with whatever challenge she is doing when there is only a basic understanding given. Vor 18 TageChaelisa μ± λ¦¬μ¬
@ryan ciani maybe normal for most videos but not normal for these videos. These videos used to be on average 30 minutes long which is a good amount of time for videos like this. I would have a way better understanding of what flight attendants do in a 30 minutes or more video

@tinker bell iβd sincerely do anything to make a scared person on an airplane feel safe. I hope you have flight attendants who help put your mind at ease despite a horrifically uncomfortable position. Sometimes itβs just smile and hold a passengerβs hand and say nothing (see Elyse Meyer), and even a lil amen if what helps get ya thru it. All depends on what YOU might need that an attendant can give you to make you feel as SAFE as possible within the means of our abilities! β€οΈ
Vor Monattinker bell
@sookysmashaus yeah basically everything you said is right lol
Vor Monatsookysmashaus
@tinker bell aviation is the MOST beautifully redundant system of any transport. statistically, plane crashes are phenomenally rare, relative to all other modes of transport. The threat of crash is statistically minimal. If you are afraid of flying, there is probably little I or any aviation professional can say to convince you otherwise. Fear of flight is related to fear of unknown and lack of control. And no amount of scientific data can really overcome that. But, If you are open to it, 74Gear has an EXCELLENT channel on which to learn all about aviation safety. And EVERYSINGLE time we have an incident, there are immediate changes and adjustments to aviation. its the most reactive and high reliability system on the planet. But, I can't convince you of that, can i? ;-)

@ryan ciani DougDoug, Dead Meat, and Forge Labs are a few examples of people who routinely make longer videos. What do you mean "too long?" If a video is too long, you can just...pause it and pick it up later. It's ok if you like shorter form videos, but clearly a lot of people prefer when Michelle makes longer, more informative ones.
Vor 16 Tageryan ciani
actually its the exact oppisite. you obviously dont watch anybody else otherwise you'd know most people post videos that are less then 20 minutes. almost nobody posts longer videos cause thats to long for a video online
Vor 16 TageJesse Bell
@ryan ciani There are plenty of people who make content that is 30/40/50 minutes or more on the internet. It isn't uncommon.
Vor 16 Tageryan ciani
YOU dont understand. thats good. videos are supposed to be that way. seriously if you want something long get off the internet where videos are short. if you want something over an hour your gonna be very disappointed and you dont get the idea of videos. they arent supposed to be long
Vor 16 TageAvery S
@ryan ciani you don't understand. She used to make longer, in depth videos but she exchanged them for short impersonal ones

Greetings from Edmonton City Canada...
Vor MonatVidHoard
The past few videos feel so rushed and non-serious compared to past ones... so much effort and work put in to such an interesting topic, and we barely got to see any of it. It feels like an ad for being a flight attendent rather than a story of how one ordinary woman pushed through all her fears to try something incredibly challenging.
Vor MonatVidHoard
@ryan ciani .... under an hour... so like... 30 minutes
Vor 28 Tageryan ciani
um no your supposed to keep your videos under an hour otherwise you start to lose people. this is like any other normal people. if you want more information about flight attendants to to a real one. its not this girls job to teach you every detail.
Vor 28 TageVidHoard
@ryan ciani What? Videos can be as long as anyone wants them to be... and this one had too much content squeezed into too little time.
Vor 29 Tageryan ciani
yeah but thats very long for a video
Vor 29 TageVidHoard
@ryan ciani You might want to scroll a little further to see what I'm talking about. She used to do 30+ minute videos.

Thankyou for showing and participating in FA training! As a flight attendant myself, a lot of passengers think we are only there to serve cokes but we truly are trained to save lives !
Vor MonatMorwen K
Agreed. I have too many passengers (grown-up men) playing with the safety stuff to annoy me, and it is not funny. Those jokes are really bad, spamming the call button too. People are bored on the plane and donβt realize we have a lot to do, and adding more work for us while we should already be getting to our jumpseats for takeoff is not a good way to pass time. I wish people would take our job more seriously because at the end of the day, if anything happens, theyβll be VERY glad we are trained to help them instead of just saying « sorry, i canβt help, but tea or coffee?Β Β».

you can tell how empathetic Michelle is by the way she reacts to certain situations - after the fake crash, she looked like she was about to tear up, same way as she did during dispatch training, police academy, fire academy. she's not only strong, but incredibly empathetic and emotionally intellectual. i admire her SO much for that. it's amazing to watch, i wish i could meet her.

Michelle, I absolutely love the videos you create. Your ideas for videos are always entertaining. I will say though, I miss the longer, more documentary style videos. The videos you have done in the past are often more serious and educational. You are such an amazing creator and you are always challenging yourself to do the impossible. You inspire me so much.

ahhh I love Michelle's content but seeing it only be 15 minutes makes me sad. Idk the reasoning but I know there must have been loads they had to cut out which was probably super hard and I know viewers would enjoy the detailed content so it just seems like a win-win to keep more in :(
Vor Monatryan ciani
i think its a great video no matter what. i've never known how much work they have to do and they never get credit for it. i never thought much of them until this morning when i watched this
Vor MonatEselcool
@ryan ciani I get what you're saying, but considering how high Michelle's productions are, they're really not that different from an actual TV show. If this series was on Netflix you would probably be a little confused as to why it was cut to only 15-minute episodes, right? What I'm saying is, for Michelle's videos being so high-quality and higher-production than a LOT of other YT channels, and for the amount of content that was probably filmed for this, it's really disappointing to see that it was cut to only 15 minutes. It doesn't make very much sense from MIchelle's standpoint to cut all of that footage, either, since the trend on youtube these days is more long-form detailed videos. Longer video = more money earned from said video, and it's obvious that a lot of people want to see the long-form episodes that Michelle used to upload. It'd be a win-win.
Vor MonatGlen Coco
@ryan ciani I just meant in comparison to her older content damnn. Iβm not saying this video is bad at all, I was just commenting I would have loved to see more
Vor Monatryan ciani
ONLY 15 minutes? this is a video not a movie. get off the internet and turn on your tv for something longer
Vor MonatEselcool
@Glen Coco i know!! I was really sad to see that the scenarios for the arctic and jungle crashes were cut so short, and i'm sure there was a bit of first aid/medical emergency training that was cut from the final footage as well :(
