@PEAKcuber This is a reference to the 'Grosse Sonate for das Hammerklavier', the 29th piano sonata by Beethoven, and a masterpiece.  In the harpsichord, the strings are put in motion by a pick, but in the relatively recent pianoforte, hammers were used, hence the name "Hammerklavier". With time, the Italian name 'pianoforte' was reduced to 'piano' and the German one to simply "Klavier".

Vor 4 Monate
Johnny Depth
Johnny Depth

@Douglas Lees of course someone's going to be concerned about that, the whole REASON someone usually starts a channel is to make a LIVING. Everyone wants to make money, that doesn't mean you have to be a greedy jerk either, there's lots of rich people who are great people all around. He's simply stating a business FACT.

Vor 4 Monate
William Vance
William Vance

@Mattias Krantz I agree that some brands use subs to decide how much a channel is worth for ads but that is for the brands that don't get YouTube. As I stated, a channel with more views should always get more money than just a high sub count for the sponsor because views are the real money. I would agree that subs do help get people to come back. But when you have an old account like mine with over a hundred subs, it only recommends around a dozen channels. Even if what I used to watch posts new content, I never see it unless I go looking for it. So the subs = views doesn't add up after someone subs to enough channels. It's all just about what you recently viewed, which is how I found your content to begin with. So whenever channel is doing the same I only have x percent subs per view like it's Raid Shadow Legends, I question how much it really is effective if it just drives everyone's subs up past the threshold of getting recommended only what you sub to. Personally, from what I have seen, the way to drive people to your channel is the community posts, which you should have access to with your sub count. It's low effort and YouTube views it as interactions, such as commenting and liking videos. So the current exploit is to create a post that is a poll. You get one interaction for the view, one for answers to the poll, and one for liking or disliking the poll. You can also use it to link your videos so that you have two algorithms promoting it.

Vor 6 Monate
Mattias Krantz
Mattias Krantz

@William Vance yes and I think that is good points which I kind of agree with. But having a lot of subscribers makes it easier to negotiate better paying brand deals if we talk the business side of things. Even if you know that number can be a completely worthless indicator, brands does look at it. Not only that, Youtube are more likely to recommend videos to a subscriber than to a non subscriber. Which is very helpful to increase the minimum views you get on videos. For example, not every video you make will get recommended to a new audience, like an Q and A. But it will more likely be too your subs. would say it’s a good idea to try to get a lot of views and get as many as possible to subscribe in the meantime. In your example, subs would be reccuring customers, right? And Isn’t that what most businesses strive to get?

Vor 6 Monate
William Vance
William Vance

@Mattias Krantz congrats but what matters is views over subs. Subs are like saying you have a lot of people at your business with memberships, but if they don't buy anything, you don't make much money. However if you get consistently more views from your non-subs, it means you are getting sales, and they are coming from outside your closed group. Look at dead channels. millions of subs, thousands of views. Then look at channels exploding in the trending. Millions of views thousands of subs.

There was a time when you got the honky-tonk sound by putting thumbtacks on the striking side of the felt hammers. BTW: the "curtain" was first introduced by Yamaha to dampen the volume in home pianos. It was called "practice mode." The felt was lowered using the sostenuto (middle) pedal & locked in place by sliding the pedal to the left. You could use it as a substitute for the unichorda which, on upright pianos has never been satisfactory. XoXo
