Cake 4 was most realistic, but with half of it being styrofoam, I couldn't justify the price they gave. For the price, and amount and quality of cake, #3 is best imo.

Cake four wasn’t cake that looked like you… so I would say „task failed“… I think cake 3 is the most impressive - you can really see how airy and light the cake is and they did a whole sculpture OUT OF CAKE! Best one!

Thank you for cutting into them to see how much was actually cake! If I paid a lot for a fancy cake, I'd want it to actually be edible, otherwise I might as well have paid for an ornament instead.

I’ve been watching cake videos my whole life, and I have NEVER seen anything inedible (besides straws, pipes, and dowels) used for structure in a cake. Truly shocking

As far as I'm concerned, Cake 3 showed the most technical skill and artistry because so much of it was constructed with edible materials. If the picture was provided digitally, a monitor or printer at each bakery could have affected the perception of the hair color. Also, missed opportunity to use red velvet cake.

I really liked 3. The haircolor wasn’t a match and the faceshape wasn’t a match but it was all cake and you probably can’t go that sharp

@Jessica Vetter it was bad but it did show the 2nd most effort in the case. Im not gonna lie, i would rather have an edible image one if that was how it looked but for the price, quantity wise as well as effort was covered, cake 2 seemed way too overprice for the amount of cake and the fact it was an edible image. From what i usually buy, edible image has never been that expensive but ot could be because of country difference.

@Shroomboy I understand how difficult it is to do in cake - and bruh - it looked bad. The color and face structure was off, Impressive techically but going off looks - it failed and only won points for looks because it was a 3D cake.

@Emilia Nylander it might’ve but it was probably because it was a humongous cake, not to mention it was ALL. CAKE. cake is really hard to work with sometimes so to get that level of structural security it was amazing, they just needed to work on coloring, and making the features more similar.

I used to make cakes and these cakes made me realize I WAAYYY underpriced my work.

I was really impressed with the amount of cake in the 3rd one but the fourth one definitely had the likeness down. It's a shame the fourth cake was made with lots of foam instead of something edible. That would've pushed it over the top.

As a baker they would use rice crispy treats and Modeling chocolate to sculpt the face and head and shoulders, not Styrofoam which is what this bakery did and charged her $800 for it. Why charge that much money for a cake that you can’t even eat half of it?

I was really upset that they paid that much money for that much cake and a Styrofoam cake. The fourth cake was amazing but half of it is a Styrofoam for that amount of money I would’ve be calling and asking for half of my money back because To me they just scammed her for money. Plus any baker knows, any true baker at that knows you do not use Styrofoam for cake

I've never seen styrofoam in cakes ever before and am kinda shocked this is somehow legal in the US :O Last cake was impressive, but the styrofoam ruins it all for me... I'd rather buy the bottom part alone and pay a fraction of the total price.

The 4th cake looked the best out of all the cakes. But I was disappointed to find out that the only part of the cake that was edible was the base of the cake. I would not pay that much for a half of a cake that was square. The 3rd cake was the best design in my opinion because it was all cake, and the cake was delicious. However, if you could take the face from the 4th cake and put it on the 3rd cake then you have a winner. The whole video was really fun to watch.

Last cake was my favorite. Only thing i would've changed would be to make ro out of rice crispies instead of Styrofoam.

I'm kind of surprised that none of the bakeries really thought about carefully texturing the hair and try to add a little realism, then then gently airbrush it do gradients and shadowing. Number four was great though.

Crazy how 75% of the bakeries used bright yellow of all things for hair! The color should have been toned down with inclusion of brown frosting. That said, everyone did a superb job for their individual circumstances.

The first one actually did a really good and safe choice. While it's more common for people to have allergies from most things, a vanilla allergy is rather rare. So it was a safe and proper option if you didn't include a flavor request.

I was impressed with how much cake their was in the 3rd. The 4th was was nice . But half of the cake was styrofoam. I would be p.o if I bought that. They could have made rice crispy treats instead in styrofoam. And you could only eat half of the cake. And she paid almost 800 dollars or only half of thr cake is edible

15:00 when she pulled “her hair” away from her head I could not help from laughing. That was unexpected and absolutely hilarious. I honestly though that was either going to be cake, or icing. I also thought that “her head” would have gone with it too. The fact that just “her hair” came away from the sculpture, was satisfying yet hilarious and kind of creepy if you think hard about it.

The 3rd cake was the most impressive imo. I mean for it to almost be all cake! That is amazing! I'm wondering if the 4th cake's bakery was using foam for your body so it would last longer during a party. I think it was kinda lazy but the hand painting makes up for it.

Need a collab of the last 2 bakers; real cake with some supports, but with the skilled painting (and color matching) of the last baker.

Majority of the cost was most likely the “labor” 😖 The work put into it.

I doubt the tears in cake 2 were intentional. The fondant clearly cracked all over the place and they just added shimmer to cover it up.. Or try to (but failed, in my eyes)! I personally wouldn't be able to justify paying $500 (let alone $800) for any of these cakes!! Also, did anyone else see the bit of mold under the strawberry slice in the last cake around 13:43?

I’d prefer the 3rd cake since it still looks pretty good and 99% of it is edible. I wouldn’t pay that much for the 4th cake tho unless they used something edible like rice crispies or even cake but with cardboard supports and dowels since it is a lot smaller than the 3rd and I’d like to think it’s possible to do!

Actually the cracks are not intentional on cake #2! What happens is fondant cracks sometimes when it dries and dehydrates, so to fix the cracks without having to redo the entire thing, they filled them with luster dust lol

I think there should be a business that focuses on making cakes look exactly like someone. The business would have multiple teams. First you would have a team who understands faces and anatomy really well. The next team would be the bakers. They will bake delicious cakes and make frosting. The next team would be the sculpting team. This team will be assisted with the anatomy team (to maintain accuracy of the person) and baking team (so they have a better understanding of the materials). The next team is the color team. They know color theory well, and they will make sure to make colors that perfectly match the skin, hair, eyes, lips, etc. Finally you have the decorating team. This team is the team that will frost the cake and paint the cake. They will be assisted by the color team. For the photos, people could preferably submit a photo of each angle of their face (front, back, left side, and right side). Maybe they could also submit one photo wear the person’s hair is behind their face, so you can see their face shape. Not only would this business have a really good understanding on creating a replica of a person, but they would also make it delicious and edible cakes.

The last one was the best and such good attention to detail and looks so much like the picture 😁💯👌🏻
