A lot of YouTubers suffer from major cases of “main character” syndrome. Honestly, it’s refreshing to see someone who is awesome and worth listening to, but also knows how to shut up and take a back seat once in a while. It says good things about you dude.

Man I REALLY enjoy these insights into Cody's mindset about the content he makes. Very few people understand the struggle BTS and it's very refreshing to see that even big creators like Cody go through it. It's basically what I would love to talk about with Cody If I ever got a chance to sit down and talk to him. 🙏

Literally thought the same thing. As an artist, I've felt almost the exact same as what Cody was talking about. Being depressed about the making of said thing. So glad the video did well for him tho.

I understand not feeling satisfied with your own concept but you still made a good vid Cody. People who hate videos that aren't "Fuck this thing, fuck this guy" don't realize the balls it takes to confront the people you've made videos about and make solid content with them. Good for you man
Vor MonatJulius Correa
@Firstname Lastname It's fine that you feel that way, but I don't get it. Cody shows how awkward he is with describing unfamiliar stuff and then brings someone who's good at their job. People are really fixated on the money and don't think about how this is one of the few guys that Cody's made fun of that is chill enough to come onto a video
Vor MonatFirstname Lastname
Also I know Cody was just trying to be nice, but to be honest Cody feeding that guys ego about how hard his job is, when it isn’t really (at least in terms of convincing extremely rich people to buy mansions lmfao), did come off as a bit annoying IMO
Vor MonatIsaac Walker
Cody & Ko is straight up behind the scenes for the main channel. I fucking love it. Just an artist processing how to be better. It's pretty cool to hear about your process. It's honestly been a nice little dose of artistic inspiration for me. Thanks for your work, Cody. More love.

Vor MonatBADHORSE

Vor 16 TageIamLegendAnon
I actually thought the vid worked pretty well at showcasing just how insane that shit is from a regular guy (Cody) perspective. Like it’s not that the job is hard necessarily, it’s that rich ppl and regular ppl are too far removed from each other for a regular person to ever be an effective salesman to the rich. Like, what regular person knows wtf italian book matching is? I thought Cody did a good job of demonstrating how ridiculous and frivolous it was by repeating the bits he did too, even if that was unintentional. But since he’s not a rich guy the humor worked anyway.

As far as the real estate video goes, for what it’s worth I also really liked it. I can totally see where you’re coming from as far as having gotten lost in the joke and not sticking the landing how you would’ve liked, but I definitely think it’s worth it to continue producing stuff like this—if that’s what you want to do—cause you’ll only improve by practicing.

Hey Cody the AI distorts faces intentionally to keep people from misusing it. It has the capability but it's a moral/legal issue.
Vor MonatPeace Master
@Cierra Kain Ah interesting, that's a different AI to the one Cody's using and only refers specifically to rendering the faces of actual real people. Cody's using DALL-E Mini, which is shitty at rendering faces purely by accident.
Vor MonatCierra Kain
Preventing Harmful Generations We’ve limited the ability for DALL·E 2 to generate violent, hate, or adult images. By removing the most explicit content from the training data, we minimized DALL·E 2’s exposure to these concepts. We also used advanced techniques to prevent photorealistic generations of real individuals’ faces, including those of public figures.
Vor MonatPeace Master
Not true. Here's a quote from the developer explaining why the faces feel shitty: “The image is encoded into a very shot sequence of numbers so that the model can learn faster. Because of this, the model makes a lot of mistakes. However, when you draw the Moon, a landscape or a tree, you don’t really notice the issues there. [...] When it is on a face, we pay a lot more attention. If the eyes are out of order or the nose is misshaped, it is weird. It is the same on animals and cartoon characters, it’s just something we pay more attention to than misshaped objects. Really, the model is equally good or bad at everything.”
Vor Monatsari
Oh that’s interesting! I didn’t know that!
Vor MonatKA M
Was looking for this comment 👌
Vor MonatRed K.
Dalle could totally do faces perfectly, look up "this person does not exist" for examples of how perfect of a face AI can make. The creators purposefully made the ai warp faces so people couldn't use it to put famous people or politicians in fucked up situations and pass them as real.
Vor MonatRed K.
@Reese Wolf Yes, Dalle 2 can do faces better, but Dalle 2 is considerably harder to get your hands on, and has a sort of selection process that adds a border of trust. And even then, Dalle 2 seems to have a filter that warps celebrities faces to make different people, for the exact same reason.
Vor MonatReese Wolf
The creator of Dalle-mini didn’t purposefully make it warp the faces. The mini version just isn’t very good at making extremely clear stuff. Dalle-2 can making a perfect face though

I feel like there are some really rude ppl who watch your vids and just have too much to say about it bc they don’t have anything better to be concerned about. Even if people are “suffering” and generally the world can be a lil sad, we watch ur vids to kind of get some enjoyment after a long day or take a break from those stressful things. You should be proud of the vids you make because you’re doing great, you’re funny, and I genuinely enjoy every one that I watch. Ty for always making my day better whenever I see that you posted!!!
Vor MonatZoe Rae
Yeah, he’s not the spokesman for “us” or whatever so idk why his video would carry so much weight for people in that sense. He’s always been about comedy and entertainment, not political social justice
Vor MonatSeth
@jbik Yeah, I get that. It's still funny to accentuate the difficulty of his job since, although the guy seems nice and I'm sure he works hard on RE and his YT, I don't really care much how hard a mansion-seller's job is any more than the average blue-collar worker.
Vor MonatSeth
@Nicolle Campbell I mean, as long as rich people exist, clearly not. The dude's literally giving mansion house-tours, I think he'll be fine.

Holy shit, these redditors on Cody’s page are always complaining about something. Vor MonatLars from Norway
Also as someone who has recorded hundreds of podcast episodes myself: Guys, just let them chat organically. Some people prefer to dominate a conversation. Some people choose to hang back. And some people like Cody can easily swing both ways. Messing with this and trying to enforce some sort of bizarre triune ratio of conversation leads to *painfully* awkward results.

I love getting to listen to Cody talk about his videos, process, and his mindset. It's so rare to hear youtubers talk so like openly and honestly it's so refreshing and it's exactly why people adore him so much. Being vulnerable is so hard to find and the little part of him talking about going to therapy and realizing how important it is to just speak your mind was so nice! The ability to take critism about your craft and not get defensive but explain yourself is so admirable.
Vor Monat99_Tech
Cody is only getting funnier and more genuine as time goes on. It's easy for me to see it because I only dove into the content at the start of this year and am already completely caught up on all channels lol. It was always enjoyable, but the effort is tangible and reflects on all fronts 🤙🏻

"Just keep making shit" is the best advice for any artist or creator of any kind. Thats how you learn and grow and thats how you make crazy shit without even meaning too.
Vor MonatJustin Cruz
The thing I like to tell myself when I write usually is, “You know what you’re going to write is shit, but you need to put at least something down on the page first.”
Vor MonatFreddie Papazyan
It’s completely healthy to talk about your thought process and it’s interesting to hear! It’s also great that you’re changing up your content like with the real estate vid. The fact that it didn’t feel completely easy is part of the growing process. (And it’s clear that you had constraints.) Anyway, keep up the good work!

Vor MonatQueenCurious
Dear Codester, leader of the Chodesters: I so love and respect that you really do put in oodles of work and thought into all your videos. I think it’s so cool that you’re always striving to put your best foot forward and never plateau in skill. AND. I always say I’m forced to trust that past me did the best they could on any given issue, because I know myself and I know that’s true. Something not working out to be what I thought I could achieve doesn’t mean I didn’t try, it usually means that my hindsight changed my perception dramatically and I see ways NOW that I could have done better. I wonder sometimes if you might just need to trust past Cody a bit more, because from what I’ve seen as a subscriber so far is that you Always do your best. You always thoughtfully approach. So when things don’t turn out identical to your vision, it could have been 20,000 other factors out of your control. The important thing is that you made people smile and laugh and that’s what you’re great at. (Side note I accidentally spit on my computer screen laughing at one of your jokes in that one) No one judges you quite as harshly as you judge yourself because only you know what the vision in your head was. I hope you don’t feel encroached upon or needlessly psychoanalyzed with this mini pep talk but I see often how much vision you have and that you seem to be peeved with yourself when that vision isn’t executed perfectly, which I hope you don’t wield too personally against yourself, because I have much respect for you in your capacities as a comedian and a creator. Have a good one, dude.

Would love to see more videos like this as long as it continues to feel cathartic and not like another obligation. The casual vibe reminds me a lot of Insanely Chill (which I miss a lot.) I can't speak for other people but the processing you did here was helpful to me as someone who goes through cycles of productivity and then stagnation and struggles to move on when I perceive something as a failure. Verbal processing is real. I realize all the time in therapy that my therapist doesn't actually need to give me much feedback anymore, she's just giving me a space to empty my head out so I can see things more clearly.
