I think the Azula's childhood was kind of sad, if she her mother had loved her the same as Zuko and guided her I think she would turn out good not a lot of people see it but Azula's mother favor Zuko over her,, for Zuko, Ursa was the perfect mother, but for Azula's it's was painfull, Ursa was a kind women but to me she's not the perfect mother, in their childhood Azula was mischievous and always pull a prank on Zuko, but I think Azula did all those things because she also want their mothers love, you can see in Azula's imagination that she also craved for her mother's love, just like Zuko craved for his father's love, but Ozai exactly don't love Azula as Ursa love Zuko, Ozai just see Azula as one of his greatest weapon, but he never loved her as a father should. Zuko turn out good because of his mother and uncle, but Azula have no one to guide her, so I think she just a lonley soul. And from Azula I learn I learn so much she was the perfect daughter, a beautiful woman, she was rich, she have everything she want but still she was so lonley.

Ursa loved Azula but lm is gave Zuko more attention because he was being rejected by his father. Ursa, Azula, and Zuko all mistook Ozai’s favoritism of Azula to be love when it wasn’t— if Azula turned away from him she would have been rejected and thrown aside like her brother. When Zuko gets burned by Ozai we see Azula smile, but it’s not necessarily that it’s because she hates her brother and is glad he’s getting hurt— it’s more that she’s glad that it’s not her. She’s aware of the kind of person he is and she is imitating her father because he is the one giving her attention (even though the reason isn’t good). Through her brother she quickly learned the price of disobedience and worked hard to avoid it

As a child, I clearly remember feeling some sort of just rewards when ozai basically told azula to sit down at his Phoenix king coronation. Like I was her age and thought "haha B, you're so out of control, your own father has to scold you and put you in your place" Now I just feel depressed that she basically never got love and basically broke in the end. It's like now that I'm older, I see the obviously abuse she and zuko went through.

The way Catra used fear and intimidation to control her squad in the Hoard AFTER Adora left in the three episode. And going into season two and three. And I think that the difference between them is Double Trouble told Catra the things she NEEDED to hear. Azula never did until it was too late. “People have hurt you haven’t they? geniuses of the family do grow up like this obsess with fathers approval and being perfect this was a clear example of what golden children are like in certain households. Azula would always do what her father told her, she wanted to prove she was the best, superiority complex, perfectionism, etc. but she never felt love and was jealous of Zuko who got it from their mother and her mental health crumbled because of it.

I genuinely feel so sorry for Azula. She’s only 14 and her father has raised her to think about war so much that even when she’s in a calm and peaceful setting on Ember Island, it’s all she can think about. It really makes you wish Azula had got a character arc, because just watching her cry, screaming on the ground, knowing she’s lost everything, is extremely painful to watch a 14 year old do.

Even when I was younger I hated that we never got to see much of Azula outside of her orders. She was always the most interesting character

I really truly get that Azula was abused by her dad, I do. She was 14 and she deserved the help and support Zuko had in his mother and uncle. But also the bitch was an actual danger to literally everyone around her and I hate her guts. She'd chuck shit at baby animals as a child. Something *was* deeply wrong with that kid.

her father trained her to act without emotion, but she was only a little girl left to fill the shoes of her mother and brother. her fire was strong because she was not. blue cold flames, forever different, apart from her family and friends. azula's last sliver of love came from her father's praise of perfection and so under perfection she slaved, grasping always for the broken cold love. she could comfort her brother in bringing him away from a location, but never anything deeper.

Azula's breakdown when Zuko and Katara defeat her is the hardest pain I have ever felt. The feeling of coming so close to succession and then losing it all instantly. The pain of thinking that even if she did everything right. Following all the rules, doing anything and everything it takes just for approval. She lost at the end. And then the overwhelming thoughts. "Where did I go wrong?" It makes one go crazy.

I used to admire heroes but I now understand why villains became who they are. The world is unfair to them.

Azula and Zuko always made me think of heroes and villains. We should appreciate and try to be like the heroes, but we should understand the villains so we can either help them or prevent more of them. More than that though, we relate to how our worst experiences have made many of us feel like lashing out, and how as children we are shaped by our parents. Without the love of her mother, all Azula had was the exploitation and power of her father.

This shows nobody is born evil but there are things in our life’s that pushes us to be evil so we could survive in our own way. For azula was mentally, she became evil to follow her fathers foot steps which at the moment she thought he loved her and it was the only person by her side. If azulas mother would have been a little more loving towards her and treat her a little more like zuko she would have not ended like that. She probably would have made the Same mistakes but at the end she would have realized that the things she did were wrong.

The scene where she was tied down by the chains, screaming and sobbing was so sad and it showed us how lost she really is.

I just know Mai and Ty Lee loved Azula like she was their familiar, those three definitely were like siblings. They made the right choice betraying her but I think they also must've hurt on the inside when they left her as well. Azula had become completely alone that day.

good villains are far more understandable and relatable to us than the protagonist because there problems cause them grief and anger that would change most people and while misguided they ultimately people who want to do right. Whereas the the protagonist of most shows are completely of goodwill and righteous to point where it becomes unrealistic. I'm a Naruto fan and to me pain is a more realistic and understandable character than Naruto, how many people would go so far for one friend that even when there trying to kill you you would still forgive I would guess no one.
