Literally just watched one of his tutorials from 2014 again yesterday and could apply that to the newest version of Animate, so why should he make them again? The animation principles haven't changed, only the software, and most of them tell you what they changed and what's new on startup 😂

im a new viewer and subscriber having found your channel this month by looking for drawing tutorials and learning about different materials and how best to use them.i believe that no matter who you are or what area of life you are talking about, the number 1 best thing to do is to speak and live your truth. words matter just as much as actions or inactions do. so this video you have made to share with the world, really is a breath of fresh air in its own right. regardless of what videos you choose to make now or in the future im still going to stick around. you have a tonne of content that i am thankful for the opportunity to take full advantage of.it matters not if its a new video or one you created several years ago. its still very useful to me to learn new skills. be kind to yourself and just do whatever you love to do. it matters that you are happy and feeling content moving forward because your heart will only really ever fully be in what you are enjoying and loving doing for yourself. follow your passions wherever they may take you because guess what....YOU MATTER TOO xxx

Thanks for this video, I'm sure it's hard being a YouTuber... as a fan of you and BMC I've seen both of you guys struggling with keeping true to yourself and keeping the audience happy. I think we need to just accept that some of our favorite channels may at some point evolve away from our own interests. Some people (and YouTubers) come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime I guess.

I respect your honesty Jazza, most people would just shrug it off and just keep doing the same thing. The fact that you took a step back and actually reflected on something especially on a place like reddit. I will be honest I unsubscribed a while back it wasn't you it was just the channel wasn't touching on the things I came to art youtube for. At the end of the day it is your channel and you do what is best for you and your family. I am sorry if this is wordy but I really have a lot of respect for you and if things go back to the earlier stuff I will gladly subscribe again. I hope you have a great day

A little late to the party here but I'd say personally I missed the sort of intimacy your videos had. Things can have a big production budget and it'll be spectacular, but when you started out as I felt like I was sitting at the desk watching you draw and I'd sometimes draw along with you, a big production budget sort of makes me as a viewer feel like I'm watching you do stuff rather than doing stuff with you. That being said there's no reason you can't have some videos be big production spectacles but it's nice to still have some low-key giggles with Jazza. It could be a thing, to be consistently inconsistent. In summation I'd say just do what feels natural. In the world of art I've always appreciated people that sort of "do their own thing". But that's just my opinion. Whatever happens I'm sure you'll figure it out my dude, good to see you take criticism like a king. Looking forward to see what's to come.

Jazza you have inspired me to paint with your various videos and I went all out and bought medium to low tier stuff to see if I would enjoy it enough to go big later on. A decent indoor/outdoor easel. Different Canvases. Different papers. Oil paints. Acrylics. And water color. Plus not to mention many books on each, including Japanese Sumi painting which is essentially panting with only one color, black. I plan on going to Japan again and doing some outdoor art work, so the easel I bought hopefully will do the trick as it folds up and has spikes that are retractable and go into the ground. Keep doing what you do. You inspire us and give us a good laugh as well with your wonderful sense of humor. Cheers mate! Ps. It is good to have an assortment of things. You do not need to be a serious artist all the time churning out the same 10 min/1 min/10 sec art challenges. Or doing something epic. Or doing something where every single thing has to be unique in completely different ways. Personally for me it was the original French Jazza that really got me hooked. Your Aussie Bob Ross was a hoot. Your first VR fan collection you explored I have shared with many. Also your videos like the Magic Pad and Etch A Sketch will always have fond memories in my heart. So my suggestion... do a little of this and do a little of that. Don't get burned out on one thing and I suppose don't have us burned out on one thing either. Switch it up a bit. Maybe even dial it back a little. Don't get stressed out where you *have* to give us three epic works of art a week. Maybe give us one and then do lighthearted episodes. Get your wife back on here as well. ^^! Do what makes *you* happy, with consideration for the rest of us of course. Take care.

I'm glad I never left daily jazza because I would have never found this video. I was one of the (I'm sure) few subscribers who left. I left around the time you moved in to the new studio. That's not necessarily when the disconnect happened but it's when it became clear that I no longer had a connection with what the video had become. I totally understood your reasons and how you got there but I came to the sad realization your channel was no longer for me. I watch a lot of youtube and seeing your videos pop up used to be like, YEA a new video to oh great another weird video where he doesn't draw. This has gone on too long, sorry. I'm going to start looking for your videos again and who knows maybe I'll come back. 1subscriber. What weight my subscription holds. Haha. Anyway either way I never left daily jazza because I still love ya man.

I’d love to see you do some art again. You’ve done so much with Copic markers but I’d love to see you paint. When I first saw Ten Hundred on YouTube I thought of you. Your drawing styles are different but both so very bright and colorful. Also, both very positive artists that have channels for adults but that attract lots of kids.

I kinda dropped out of this channel when phase 3 began. I guess it got too, professional i guess? Like you moved to a new studio, had insane camera set ups and huge ideas for projects and I guess.. I couldn't relate to it anymore, yknow? Like I draw stuff and I make characters and just do whatever I feel like and you inspired me to keep going. I don't paint murals or make huge clay sculptures or giant cardboard castles. I don't care much about skits or build up intros or loud, bright colours. Kid friendly is great, i have no problem with the changes, it just wasn't for me anymore. I just liked to watch a guy draw and chill, yknow? But- I will never ask you to change what you're doing because it's not my cup of tea. Just be you, do whatever you wanna do. All that matters is you enjoying yourself. Your honesty and care have never changed. I haven't been here for a while but I see you still care deeply about your audience. Such a genuine creator youtube desperately needs. We don't deserve you

Thank you Jazza for the video. Why? Because subscribers like myself don’t ever stop to think about this being a legit career for you and all that it involves and how chasing the YouTube algorithm can help or hurt you. You will never keep “all” of your subscribers happy. Everyone will always have an opinion. People tend to think about themselves and forget this is your livelihood. You’re trying to be creative, teach, entertain and be passionate about what you love, while doing your best to make as many subscribers as possible happy AND getting the clicks you need in order to stay relevant. I’m sure as long as you’re passionate about your next stage, everything is going to work out. Yes, you will possibly lose subscribers, but remember you will also gain new subscribers as well with the new content. And who knows, you may lose no one. I wish you nothing but the best! 🧐

I definitely stopped watching around Phase 3. Just check in once in a while -- and not satisfied. The really problem is you didnt see YOUR AUDIENCE as growing in OUR skills & lives -- you pigeon holed us as at the level you first started talking to us at in Phase 1. So you didnt see it as a Relationship of Growth, you still treat it as a Hobby. Compare that to say DarkMatter#### (forgot the number... random numbers are bad for remembering) who over years and years got more and more sophisticated.

Your content is fantastic and my heart goes out to you for having the courage to ask for the help from your fans. This being said an idea came not to me but to my children who are learning to draw, why not mix all 3 phases together please bear with me on this. So off screen create this big bad picture fairly complex, , have a childrens competition say once a month with top 5 or 6 children receiving an art prize, of say a hand crafted artists kit from yourself ie selection of pens pencils and other art mediums as well as a personalised piece of artwork from yourself. The running competition would be them sending in their artwork of the big picture, but where you break it all down tutorial style. So almost like a Bob Ross effect, or reverse Bob Ross where you can see the finished picture but you show how to draw every bit

Passion driven silliness does NOT equate to childishness. And being an adult on camera is not the same as not being "family-friendly". The cynical view that one cannot break out of "adult" seriousness to have a little fun is in itself a childish perspective of "being an adult". PLEASE don't stop bringing your silly passion to this channel! It shows a true love of what art can and should be, and is what brought many of us to your channel in the first place.

Great video, great thoughts. One idea, after watching hours of Peter Draws. We don’t see you talk about other people’s art, or art from people you have inspired. I find him talking about art and talking about particular details of other people’s work just amazing. The feeling from the line work, colour choices, emotions, just everything, makes me think more deeply about my own art. I think you’d be good at it, and it would bring the community into your videos. Keep up the great work.

I'm glad you spoke about this because personally for me, the content and you yourself and even your channel name changed it felt like such a let down. Like this channel became all about sponsorship and being over-exciting and exhausting. I used to like being here because you were more authentic and you were enough so perhaps trust yourself more rather than.. YouTube's algorithm. It's like being driven by your anxieties and then expect a productive result. It was very difficult to unsubscribe a year- year and a half ago because I've been watching your videos for over 4 years at that point and.. well I'm glad you're talking about this. This is a great video. Many people do not honestly look at themselves and they really should. This should be an example to everyone on how you can look at ‘negatives’ of yourself and do it in a healthy way. Funny you say superheroes are done. Because if there’s one thing you’ve yet to do is find a way to bring that creativity to places that don’t have it. Like imagine Jazza going to a cancer ward and teaching them how to paint or use texture.... on a Wall of their ward that he and they are making together. Or maybe a Ted Talk talking about forging your own path in a creative field. Like just branching out to a bigger stage where you can use that platform you’ve built to really help others while finding a way to creatively help yourself. It’s tough and not many can do this. Which is why you don’t see it. But that’s where the creativity comes in. ;) “How can I help others who aren’t in the art community, through doing what I do?” Could be the question at the top of phase 4.

Would you rather have 5million subscribers and views and your current situation or 5k subscribers and views of quality dedicated subscribers? Personally I’d rather take the latter and I think if you play the long game the latter gets you to the former in a better/happier way with lasting results.

I have never thought of you as annoying, and your channel isn't there to keep everyone happy, it's there for the ones you inspire and for you to do what you love. I'm in my 30's and I would say it's kid friendly but directed at anyone with a passion for art, and let people choose what videos they want to watch, they're all there. Don't try and please the ones who are inconsiderate enough to make the comments in the first place. So for every subscriber that says "we like your old stuff better!", there are probably just as many new subscribers that signed up for the new stuff. And frankly, there are way more non-artists out there that will find it interesting to see an expert do fun things, rather than there are artists who want instruction. Keep that in mind. What gets me is how opionated and entitled "subscribers" are... they don't pay for any of his content, yet feel they have every right to steer his content.... The problem with Jazza is that he is feels so grateful to his subscribers because they helped get him to where he is that he feels he owe them everything, when in fact he owes subscribers nothing, he got himself to where he is, he put in the work. Clicking on a video is not work. Jazza, the only thing that works in video is "story" not production, not lights, not equipment, not sets, not money, STORY. Have a story that speaks to your subscribers and you'll get to 10 mil. Trust me...

Perhaps you are like that in real life. I'm just saying how it appeared to me. I also was only really looking at the tutorials so I would skip the other videos. But the overly peppy talking and fast paced editing of the tutorials kind of got in the way of the things I was trying to learn. The tone didn't match what I was looking for. It is amazing to watch your videos where one can see (almost feel) how excited YOU are about the thing you're making. THAT's why I subscribed, and that's also why I haven't unsuscribed... because hey, we all have weeks when we dont necessarily "love" what we end up doing... it's normal, it's human and we all go through it (hell, many of us dont even reflect on whether we accomplished something we like or not).... and YOU have a very high rate of "really-amazingly-cool-and-impressively-good-content" vs "not-that-cool-content"... so, keep it up! If it weren't for your clickbait art challenge videos I wouldn't have clicked and therefore wouldn't have found your channel, which in itself is wholly remarkable, informative and radtacular! I'm grateful for everything you do.

This is unsolicited but it's a few honest reasons why I unsubscribed. (I totally respect this video 💯) 1) I sort of stopped watching bc it felt like the videos became layered ads for products. First layer was the product you got for free and "reviewed", then there was an introductory audible ad and then there were the intervideo ads. One time your intervideo ad actually covered the information for the audible ad. I get that this is a job but three levels of ads just made me feel used after awhile. 2) I bought a huion from your recommendation but had no idea how to toggle it properly. This is probably my fault but you made it look so simple to use and set up. It's collecting dust and $120 later, I'm back to a pencil and paper. 3) You dont really interact with your audience by replying to comments etc. I find it huge when youtubers respond to comments. That being said, with so many viewers, I know this isnt completely tangible. Personally I enjoyed the challenges. 2,600 likes on a meme is so small in comparison to 5 MILLION subs. You're extremely talented and loveable and I dont find you annoying 🤷‍♀️ Bottom line was I just felt used so I stopped visiting. Much love and respect for explaining your POV and for choosing to be more authentic to yourself ❤ Ps. I love the beard!

And this is why I watch this channel, what a great guy! I honestly don't believe in bad examples, bad influences without a doubt exist but bad examples no. Everyone is a great example, of both what to do and what not to do. If there is one thing you are not, it is a bad influence! I spend a lot more time then I care to mention watching your videos, both new and old, and it's inspiring to see the passion you have for the videography, and anyone who is passion driven in a particular subject tends to be inspiring to many people. I am not an artist, nor a videographer, but a field guide in SA, and I find myself inspired by your "gees" (you can google what this means if need be, don't know that there is an english equivalent of this afrikaans word.) as we would call it in south africa. Keep doing you, and you will attract what you need to. Birds of a feather, flock together! Good Luck Jazza ",

I think your an amazing artist, professional or not. I'm glad you're trying to best to find the direction you want your channel to go, but I just hope you keep your passion and creativity as you move forward. I've seen some your tutorials, your character creations, your French artist video game run lol and your other more extravagant videos. Do you, keep your passion, please keep making videos.

No matter what you are or do I appreciate your honesty and journey. Shad is one of my favorite channels, you are one of my favorite partners channels. You are still interesting and I enjoy your content even if you are the third best Brooks archer.

I unsubscribed about a year ago because I didn't like how the channel was evolving. I was happy about the new space you got, it seemed really fun, but it turned from an art channel to more wacky/zany projects and crafts. That isn't bad, of course, but it wasn't for me. I was talking to a friend about this channel and decided to come back to it for examples of how it changed, but then I saw this video. I'm really glad you're trying to figure things out and I can already see a drastic improvement (of course, again, in my opinion) of content. I'll be keeping an eye on this place for a while and may resubscribe. I bought one of your t-shirts a while back and it's one of my favorites that I own so it'd be great if I could return to being a fan :) Keep doing what you're doing, man, and it's great to see the self-reflection here.

I know I'm late to the draw, but: My problem with "art challenges" is that they all too often produce crap. That's not a slight against you as an artist, Jazza - you do what you can under whatever handicap you've given yourself. As impressive as your skills in overcoming adversity are, however, the challenges actively degrade your results and that's entertaining for only so long. This might just be me, but I prefer to see a finished product at the end, regardless of how you ended up getting there. By all means experiment, but deliberately taking on challenges you aren't going to succeed in very well is what eventually drove me away. It just wasn't interesting seeing you draw blindfolded or draw upside-down or draw with your feet or draw using only shiny pillowcases or draw while drunk, etc. That has a shelf life.

Jazza, I’ve subscribed to you because you made me laugh, you made me appreciate the drawing videos, you were full of energy and really alive. And it’s always the case ! Just be yourself, do what you want cause you’ll always have people to see you’re creations. To see you’re positiveness and talent. Keep your head up, you’re not weak and you can be the person you really are. The person, you really want YOU to be. Not your audience. You. And only you. Of course it is necessary to follow the trending cause the algorithm is like that and you can’t do much about it. But Jazza, please, don’t lose your personality and your joyfulness for YouTube. Life’s more important than this and you’ll always be able to bounce on something else. Cause you’re an artist, and an artist never die. Have a wonderful evening. (In France it’s evening now) Good night sir Jazza ❤️

OMG IT'S YOU! Your old videos were always a reference/inspiration in my animation class before! I can't believe this! I feel like I've been a longer fan than I thought lol. I've been watching your videos recently and I love it but I didn't realize that you were that JAZZA!? It's okay to change as long as you're aware of the bad and good things in the change.
