its really hard to stomach such gamble especially when the market of hybrid supercars are just starting up its engine. in 2-3 years time there'd be so many new cars with even wilder look and spec than P1 were at much lower price. Only the trinity of hypercar, basically the poster cars of 2010s can stand the test of time can even worth the effort IMO the Revuelto and SF90 are just the beginning.

This car is gonna be the stuff of legend on the Internet in 5 years. I’m genuinely gonna follow this build from start to end. And I love that it’s a McLaren so whatever he does to it, they won’t throw a fit like if it was a Ferrari. This is truly gonna be a wonderful build. Good Luck Freddy!

I’ve known this channel for a long time but lost interest in car builds and haven’t really followed it for some time. But this got me hooked right away and I plan to watch every single part. Handy tip - when trying to move a car (for example like at 37:10 getting the P1 onto the lift/ramp) it’s much easier if you rotate the wheel/tyre, not pushing on the body. On most cars you can move it with one hand by rotating a wheel. Obviously, in neutral with brakes off!

Oh man, good luck to you! The P1 is an absolutely gorgeous dream car (and obviously stupidly fast), but that is gonna be an epic (and expensive) challenge to get that back to prime condition. I just have one question....how did the owner of the car not know there was going to be potential flooding from the hurricane since there had to be forecasts of it's estimated direction and strength well in advance and if he did know, why didn't he move it more inland as a precaution?!

He prob had to much money, seeing as he also didn't do anything but watch his cars get destroyed

Cars or our own selves, something always has to be fixed and upgraded to make life more and more enjoyable.

I’m wondering if it’s going to be restored to stock with a different aftermarket set of wheels because you’ll most probably keep this one, hey Freddie? This is going to be an epic restorative build. Everything will essentially be new because it was new to begin with. New replacement parts on an already barely driven in car. This is probably the lowest mileage P1 in the U.S. so hopefully it retains the value once done. Keep it up Freddie. Love the awesome content.

This is hands down my favourite car, I’ve always loved the P1 and McLaren so this car has a special place in my heart my favourite colour is the Volcano Orange they do. So it’s really good that you guys are fixing up this car and restoring it to its full glory.

NGL, super cars interest me as much as buying an overpriced set of Snap-On tools.. But the way you present your content really draws me in. I can appreciate the passion for the numbers and performance. The engineering of these insane cars is definitely impressive! Now lets see what this is gonna cost too restore. I'm at the edge of my seat already...

Guys let’s pray for the project as a whole. Seeing the successor to the McLaren F1 be damaged like that was heart breaking.

That is one expensive waterlogged paperweight. But if anyone can rebuild it.....interested to see the results. I figure if you can do it for $400,000 ish you'll have about a million into it. I imagine even salvage title is worth at least that much. Crazy.

What an absolutely epic project car. Not many people would attempt this, but everyone will be watching you bring this car back to life.

I wish Freddy the best of luck with this project.........his excitement about this project is palpable, but I also know the reality of flood cars, especially those mostly submerged, and you can have long-term problems that show up much later because small electrical connections, many out of sight, that get corroded, will continue to deteriorate. Of course, there is also the question of a completely submerged engine. You really have to take it down to bare block and resurface and lubricate everything. There can be hidden mold also, so the upholstery and carpets all need to be taken out and thoroughly cleaned or replaced. Will be happy to see Freddy driving this spectacular car down the road at some future date.

Top tip when pushing a roller: Push/pull on the top of the wheel for better leverage.

The plates being thin on dethtrap might have saved the frame. If you brace the frame box it and put and x back there to keep it from twisting. Running a bar straight across won't help very much. They normally just move with the frame. Also see you in indy

Hey there.. cool channel.. I think they both had their pluses and minuses. #2 will be a bit more fuel efficient and ride nice. And generally pretty solid. #1 would be a beast and haul a pretty serious load after it was sorted out. But fuel efficient wouldn't be a plus and older 3 quarter and 1 tons rode pretty stiff back then if I remember correctly. Dig the wheels too on 2.

I'm trying to fathom the entire process it would take you to rebuild that car and my mind can't even fathom it...the amount of work that would go into rebuilding a P1....just.

Some of the people who designed and built the P1 are definitely watching this. Just warms my heart to know they get to see how much passion there is for their product, how far one man is willing to go to save a piece of what they created. I've got petrol in my veins baby and I fucking love that so many other people do too.

As a tire tech of a couple years I cringed so hard when you got on the tire machine even with how fucked the broken wheel was the fact that you not only put the valve cap back on before breaking the bead but were also super close to the lip had me sweating bullets with how expensive those wheels are😂😂😂😂

It will be interesting to see how much... or should I say factory support you get from this. Replacing the ECM maybe impossible and you may have to hire someone to replace every component inside every computer and electronic device on the vehicle. That would be my biggest worry. Did you happen to contact them to ask if they would sell you new electronics or even reprogram the ones you get rebuilt?

I can’t wait to follow your journey through this rebuild. You’re 100% the right person for this job and it’s a whole lot better than letting the p1 get thrown away. It ain’t gonna be cheap and it’s going to take months or even years, but it’ll be fun.

How cool would it be, if McLaren would support you a bit with this build, because they should be happy and proud, that someone likes their car as much, that he think the car is worth to save and is willing to put a lot of money and energy into rebuild a flooded car... It would also help them with their reputation

As a tow truck driver, invest in ball joint blocks. Good ones are maybe ~$200 a pop, but they make wheel/suspension issues no problem. Taking the wheels off and throwing ball joint blocks under the frame will let it slide super easy
