How YOU can land a passenger aircraft! 12 steps

What if a Passenger was the ONLY one left to land the plane? Could a passenger theoretically do it, without ANY previous knowledge or training?
In todays Special video, I will go through the required steps that will have to be taken in the cockpit in order to set the aircraft up for a safe auto-land. There will be around 20 different individual steps that needs to be taken and none of them can be omitted or done in the wrong order. This all depends on the passenger getting into contact with Air Traffic Control and being reasonably close to a suitable runway.
If you want to download this video and keep in your phone or mobile device, you can do so inside the Mentour Aviation app.
I have also created an Amazon page with Aviation books, material and flight simulator stuff that I think you will enjoy!

Great video! Years ago, I flew a C5 Galaxy and a 737, both full size simulators. I was able to take both off, fly around for awhile and then land both aircraft successfully. The only experience I had besides flying radio controlled airplanes was flying with a friend in a Cessna 182 and flying Microsoft Flight Simulator. About five years ago, I flew a turboprop twin Piper at Simcom in Orlando. I took off, flew for several minutes and landed with only one engine. With all the automation, I think about anyone could bring a big heavy in for a successful landing.

@Speedbird Maybe you should understand the statement relative to the video. And BTW I didn’t say another aircraft. Let me put it simply for the simple. An airplane can land itself. Furthermore I explained why to you. Go back to TikTok if you wanna start arguments.

Vor 13 Stunden

Speedbird

@Matthew DeGregorio Maybe you should learn how to express yourself😉 "An aircraft can land an aircraft" literally means that an aircraft can land another aircraft. If you mean an aircraft can land itself, you need to write that instead of just being a knob. Its well known that an aircraft can autoland with the DFCS, but it still requires CDU inputs. So you`re kind of incorrect anyway..

The procedure concerns an airport that has ILS. In case it doesn't have and needs to be done VOR procedure I think it's much harder for a passenger to pilot an aircraft

I am an aging, non-licensed non-pilot who has an interest in communications and surviving a "no pilot landing." First off, the "to the non-pilot," one of the situations would be the passengers vis-a-vis the person in the new pilot seat. There is no switch position which CLEARLY tells you how to talk to the passengers. The differences between a pilot and a non-pilot might include the fact that the pilot knows what the instruments and gauges are called in the particular aircraft they are flying. Also, it is assumed that the aircraft isn't currently starting to land or make other changes that would alter the scenario. Also, the need for the new pilot to CONTINUALLY keep the aircraft running, despite differences in the type and configuration of aircraft type and the ground shape. Is this available anywhere using any special purpose applications? Thank you for your interest in the little people, you know... the ones who actually are not busy doing silly stuff like trying to find flame proof paper to write their last will and testament! LOL

Vor 7 Tage

You’re taking this a bit too serious😆 Anyways..you dont need to continuously run the aircraft😉It runs it self as long as there is fuel availible.

Arguably anyone could land an aircraft -whether there would be any survivors is highly doubtful but if you are going to die what have you got to lose by trying -if you succeed you will be a hero and if you fail well who is going to blame you for trying.Always better to try and fail in these circumstances than fail to try .I always tell people who doubt themselves to try -fail -try again -fail better -they again -fail still better and eventually you will succeed .You only ever fail when you quit or die and in this circumstance you have nothing to lose .

I highly appreciated this video and it made quite sense for me because I am also an amateur MS simulator user, but some details could have been explained deeper for absolute novices eg . Why I push the second button on the radio (because I'm in the right seat), why do I have to put the locator frequencies on both sides , use of the speed brake ( risks when not doing like described) etc and some explanations about the information on the screens would have been more understandable and better documented when zooming in to the instruments and showing more details then just explaining them. Maybe for a future video?
