made these today 4-6 weeks? cant wait! Used fresh Dill from my garden a lotts of dill. I did add fresh onion as well as garlic and tarmac. Hope this helps some people out there :)

I was on the phone with my best guy friend at 2 am, and he was VERRYY high on lack of sleep, and he couldn’t stop laughing. When you put the jars into the water bath for 15 minuets, is the water boiling? Or just simmering?

The water should be Luke warm, then bring it to a rolling boil then time your 15 minutes.

what is the water bath the full jars are put into at the end and why?

To seal the jars, to force air out. You have to place the filled jars into boiling water that covers the jar. Depending where you are in regards to sea level determines the length of time that you leave them in.

Uhh...wouldnt this be kosher dill pickles, not plain dill pickles?!?! Cause as I recall, the difference between the 2 is the garlic.

Forgot to add a tsp of diced jalapenos. The lids start out convex and end up concave. Adding garlic makes them Kosher Dill Pickles..

A vinegar pickle is not and cannot be a Kosher pickle. Kosher Dill Pickles are naturally fermented pickles and taste so much better than a vinegar pickle. And, another plus, real Kosher Dills can be ready to eat in about a week.

Yes... bass ackwards! How to remember concave vs. convex.... I'm sure many of you might use this method but for me I thought it up myself. It does not mean thousands of others have not. Concave is like "Caved In" and therefore convex is the opposite... not caved in. Here's a good one... I created this one for myself decades ago also... Stalactites and Stalagmites, like the bottom to top and top to bottom icicles in a cave... just remember the T of TITES... T is for top - the ones hanging down like growing up in Minnesota Winters lol. Stalactites = Top Down. Whew!
