Good video! I wanted to install LVT in my bathroom but was told all my porcelain tile would need to be removed to install the new LVT. Because of the wide (1/4 inch wide grout lines) otherwise, the LVT would eventually sag where the grout lines are. Please let me know your thoughts.

Home Depots like "Just score the planks and snap them", they said nothing about using saws...which actually seem necessary. I can do it, but it's definitely not as easy as the people at the store act.

Well i know a flooring installer who got a bunch of small sliver like debris in hus eyes from cutting these planks with a power saw this is horrible advise

I don't understand why people cover those beautiful tile floors with cardboard/vinyl fake wood? What is this the 70s? 80s, 90s real tile vs cardboard/vinyl fake flooring? Don't understand. Get rid of something made better for something made cheap?

It's hard to remove linoleum, especially the adhesive underneath it. It's not thick, so why not just leave it? I do think an underlayment membrane might have been appropriate in this case.

I do not understand why you did not use a rubber base (insulator) that is essential for this job. Actually the result is satisfactory. Good job.

I put this through my house. I have installed many types of flooring from hardwood, to tile. This vinyl plank flooring goes in easy, looks great, a year later it is absolute garbage. High traffic areas will separate and the corners will curl up. Worst decision I have ever made. It does conform to uneven spots but a grain of sand will leave a nice bump in the floor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND using this flooring at all costs.

Does this product have a dead load limit? Wanting to put it in a room then install a gun safe that weighs in at 3600. I am wondering if I would be better off with wood.

If you score on the underside, it snaps easily long ways. I just put the bottom of my palms/wrists on one end , snapped, then continued all the way across until it was all snapped, resulting in a clean line.

Rubbish as this floor requires a special underlay. So many mistakes in the fitting.

Does not require an underlay. Most manufacturers advise against using one.

Not in my house but when we renovated our gamingclubs kitchen we couldn't get the paint off the wall behind the counters so we simply left it there.

May I ask why you need a space at the walls? I'm sure there is a logical reason I just dont know it.

The flooring expands and contracts with temp changes. If it is jammed in tightly it will pop up.

It won't snap for me. says put it in at 20 deg angle and let it down and when I do that it wont go all the way flush with the floor

Where's the underlay ? And why is he fitting over vinyl flooring ? Would void any warranty that the manufacturer gives.

@Karl Hayes yep it depends on the brand but a lot of lvp now comes with underlayment and it actually voids warranty if you put underlayment underneath it additionally

question: i notice this is your laundry room so was your original tiled floor slightly sloping towards the floor drain or perfectly level?...i ask because i'm wondering because i assume your floor would be sloped and how the vinyl would perform on a slightly sloped base.

I love this guy, but the previous owner in our home installed the same type of floor on top of the old linoleum with no felt layer in between them- just like this video, and it sounds like your walking on something crunchy every time. IMO, you need a liner or felt layer in between them.

I believe a lot of this flooring comes with an underlayment already attached, so you don't always need to roll out a separate layer.
