It's not *that* weird to keep talking to your friend who you confessed to in my opinion. You just kinda have to do it or that friendship's gonna fade. It feels awkward at first but the awkwardness goes away in no time because both of you are still good friends at the end of the day.

Yeah, I mean I have a friend who asked me out. But he gracefully accepted rejection and we continued to be friends without any awkward atmosphere. Same thing one time when I and another guy both liked each other but we had a conversation and decided that type of long distance relationship wouldn't work out. Now we are friends again and there is no awkwardness. I think the awkwardness usually only appears if one person still hasn't given up despite being rejected or if they still have really strong feelings.

@IamLegendAnon Well, for starters, Rin was a very mild Tsundere that didn't go unga boonga and had no qualms helping Shirou when it counted(unlike some Tsunderes I've seen, yeah, crazy). She also had much more than being just a tsundere, being manipulative and calculative while somehow also being a kind, clumsy ditz. Shirou, on the other hand, is indeed incompetent but his growth grew on me, but it helps that his ideals are similar to mine(fucked up, I know). He's got a lot to fix, but he's this no-nonsense dude that's blunt about everything since it's like he's gonna have no tomorrow anytime soon, so he's kinda living every day thoroughly, at least, that's the vibe he gave me. But, to be honest, they all kinda are my favourite characters, spare a few exceptions(ya know, like Shinji, obviously) because I've always been a sucker for display of ideals and virtue, which I am aware not everyone's into it, but I feel the characters in UBW portray their emotions and display their ideals pretty nicely and smoothly along with the plot. Perhaps it's more about me being able to accept or, rather, enjoy getting exposed to controversial ideologies that, in a way, are true. But I do understand that many have stated that many characters aren't fleshed out enough if compared to the novels, so perhaps that might be the deciding factor. If I were to be one of the readers, I might not enjoy it that much and take your side of the opinion, but, as a whole, along with the obviously unlimited budget works displayed during the, dare i say, best fight scenes of the decade, UBW was a damn good show, it was coherent, consistent and cohesive, which I often desire the most in stories, and I hate it when stories have good and bad arcs, cuz it means I have to suffer a bunch to potentially get something good out of it, so that might've also skewered my view quite a bit. Hope you enjoy looking into my mind a bit. Also, on a side note, have you seen 86? If you have, what's your opinion? Cuz in my case, that anime makes every anime I've ever seen pale in comparison. Even those in my personal hall of fame legends.

It's not weird, if you liked that person for their personality, that means you can still be friends, it will be awkward for some time but later you just get to love them as a friend again

As someone who has had to reject a few friends I think if y'all properly talk and you make it clear that you don't want to stop being friends but like you aren't into them it's perfectly fine to be friends after one of you guys confess. Idk it's just communication I guess, you can still maintain friendship after rejecting someone or being rejected as long as all parties are decent people, I think. If they aren't willing to be friends after the fact even if you communicate that you can still be friends after rejecting them then they never truly valued your friendship. If they're willing to still be friends after being rejected or rejecting then they value your feelings and friendship - which they should anyways to being with since supposedly y'all are already friends that respect each other.

It’s good to think about decisions like this before giving an answer! That way you know what you would like and can feel more confident about what you choose. Always remember that you are allowed to say “I want think about this a bit before I decide.” And then come back later to talk about it.

With what Emily has let people know about her past, this reaction and self doubt to a person liking her fits her to a tee. Being afraid of relationships (or, more accurately, being afraid of getting hurt from a relationship) is something far more people go through than most people would expect.

I mean not every friendship stops after a confession, it's kinda awkward at first but you'll keep talking and eventually these feelings would fade away. Weird coming from the one being confessed to but I was in a very worried state of how our relationship would go after that. She cried a lot and Ive seen her cry 5 times at most so I felt very bad. She was gorgeous and had a lot of friends she gave just as much attention to so I really never expected it from her. Wouldn't look at me in the eyes and answered me a bit curtly. Saved a 5years friendship by keeping weekly check outs and worked it out! Plus she told me around a year later that I didn't have to feel bad anymore because she wasn't in love with me anymore. Oh! I have a funny story on how my brother met his wife. My brother for the longest time wouldn't date nor had any interest in girls because he wanted to be like one of our uncles, a bachelor. Well, said uncle got married when we were in our teens (he was in his 40s by then) lol. Anyway, when my family was at a festival one day, we decided to call my brother, who was in the Air Force and living out of state. I am the one who calls him first and you can imagine my shock when I asked him what he was up to and he said he was, "Hanging out with his girlfriend." I literally shouted, "YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?!" Immediately my own mom grabs my cell phone from me lol. So they met at work (she was Air Force also) and worked in the same office. Their friends kept pushing them to date each other and finally my brother 'gave in' but he STOOD HER UP! Our mother did NOT raise him that way. He ended up feeling very guilty and basically asked her out for real this time. She surprisingly agrees, but then STANDS HIM up lol. Third time was the charm though and the rest is history haha. When my mom heard that my brother was stood up, she was like, "Well good for her!" They've been married now for 14 years and have 3 kids (13, 11, and 6).

This story is adorable. I can tell you from personal experience though, that rejection doesn't have to mean the end of a friendship. I liked a girl at one point and after a while, I asked her out. She rejected me, but because we were already good friends and saw each other often already, things just kinda went back to normal. She's now like a sister to me, and I think the fact that we were able to just go back to normal actually strengthened our bond as friends. We even joke about it now.

Oh boy, crazy how similar situations can be. I "rejected" my friend who has liked/loved me for the longest time. 9th grade, went downhill in 10th but soon picked up right after. We graduated and he had told me many times he loved me and i wouldn't bat an eye, mainly cause i didn't see him that way, but also cause a few months later i was dating someone. But not even month passes and we break up due to differences and just, not working out. I've never been in such a fast relationship like that it hurt, and it was just last year in Jan, now, I'm still not over him due to me just not wanting to let go of the good memories. Told my friend that loved me that i only see him as a friend, and that i don't know what the future holds. And that i really don't want our friendship to end or get ruined because of a relationship. I only want a friend, i am not currently open to anything romance rise and keep myself away from it. I don't know if I'm, running away from it, or if I'm in denial, cause he has done a lot for me, and knows me too well. And sometimes i do think about us being together, but then the thought immediately vanishes. I know i can admit i don't wanna commit to anything. I just can't, usually it's just in the moment I'll feel something but it goes away. I'm not gonna force myself right now to figure it out, but rather fix myself before i even attempt anything.

I think that's a responsible decision. If you don't like him romantically, I'd suggest being firm in your rejection. Don't let pressures and impulses get you into something you don't actually want. Otherwise, you may end up hurting both of you when it inevitably doesn't work out. Or it may. I've never been in a romantic relationship before, so I don't know how good my advice is. I can kinda relate to this; I met my gf in 7th grade and it was one-sided (she only thought of me as a best friend) so I decided to not try to date until I found someone else. Come 8th grade year, she and I both were very flirty with each other and then she asked me out which totally suprised me. I've been with her for 3 years, and it's been amazing~

this is really cute and I'm in a weird situation myself rn so i just wanna rant. So there's this guy I've known for like two years just as a classmate, and though we hardly talked before, we've had this sorta consistent relationship of helping each other out when we don't understand xyz, need notes, etc. Basically nerd bros lmao. And for the past few months since like november i noticed he was starting to act a little weird (can't really say tho since like bruh we don't talk much and he doesn't show emotion) and upon hearing and observing his conversations with his other friends, i came to the conclusion that he might've?? Liked me?? I was in denial for a good while because it just seems so impossible. But i told a few close friends about it for other opinions and they both said yeah he probably does so. Time went on with neither of us really acknowledging each other beyond the usual, and now after winter break and everything, it feels more tense than before. I have no clue what to do about any of this really, like maybe I'm wrong about it and there's nothing at all, i dunno,, it's just stressing me out cause i feel like one wrong move could be fatal xhhdgxg help

Heh throwback to when my bf didn’t answer my text of confirmation of my love for him for a good 15 minutes, we got in a call, told me that my remark not only stunned him and shocked him but also really flattered him and that he too was ready for an exclusive relationship and we’re now making plans to see each other in a few months hopefully ^^

I appreciate this clip because I’m in a similar situation right now where I just got out of a long-term relationship. I have a crush on a friend (I call him that but I don’t think we have ever referred to each other as friends so we have a weird relationship right now). He took me out eating and shopping yesterday. And then he came over to visit later that night. I was so happy. But I don’t know if he likes me, or if he is near me out of pity. Probably not the latter because I feel like he is too lazy to do that lol. I have no idea. Before he took me out on the “date”, I thought there was just no chance that he liked me. During the date though, he said that once I graduated, he would miss me. Specifically him, and not the group of friends we hang out with. He referred to just himself. I was glad. And he came over later that night and called me pretty. In a very lowkey way, but he doesn’t compliment people often so I noticed it a lot. It was the best day ever. I had never been on a date before. So now, I think there is a chance that he likes me, but I can’t be sure. I need more clues and more interactions. We click so well that when I’m with him, the time passes like lightning speed, and I soak in every moment and treasure them all. This time, we have so little of it left. I want to hug him. I want to take care of him. But I don’t want to overstep the friend boundaries. I’m glad he lets me get into his personal space and touch him a lot. He seems to welcome it. When I’m with him, I’m so happy that my heart could explode. I hate sappy things but I could be sappy for him, lol. I wouldn’t consider myself a romantic because Im very career-focused but I can’t stop thinking about him. So I want to date him at some point. But I broke up rather recently and I am just very conscious of how bad it might look. I’m already long over my ex, since I move on fast. However I also don’t want to ruin this friendship because he really is so sweet and he cares about me. He never lets me walk alone late at night. He’s really attentive and considerate towards me. He respects me. I can’t lose him. I can’t mess up. And so I want to hear others’ stories so I can learn.

@Rodrigo Morales Thank you! An update indeed: After this “date”, we went on another few of those too and spent a lot of time together. He began to ask to see me every day. We held hands, laid on each others’ shoulders, and he even put his arm around me once. And then yesterday things really snowballed after I couldn’t hold it anymore. I said a lot of very forward things to him and then he confessed to me. You were right! I just was super in denial because of my low confidence. I’m really happy now.

I'm not the best person to get romantic advice from, but the way I hear it, it does seem like the feeling is mutual, or at least he cares about you more than a casual friend.
