"Everyone was a drunken chain smoker so they were easy to knock out." That was one of your best lines.
Vor 7 MonateCurtis Whitehead
Easily one of his best , more memorable lines of all this series. Just incredible how I can watch these over and over again and still chuckle
Vor Monat#History MattersToday
We need to get back to this in our world. Truly the reason our world is so screwed up now. Haha 😄

“To the point where being a Sober Incel gave you Superpowers” lol this stuff is gold
Vor 6 MonateMaya S
I agree!!! I had to rewatch it haha
Vor 6 MonateMario Quade
I love the meetings, the travelling, the checking into hotels, it gives the film and the audience time to breath instead of just chasing from one action filled plot point to another.
Vor 7 MonateOwentheKingofDudes
I am your 1,000th like. You're welcome :)
Vor 27 TageDaniel Jaramillo
@caomhan84 Lmao u mad because I insulted ur childhood masterpiece. Cry Abt it. I don't care
Vor 4 Monatecaomhan84
@Daniel Jaramillo Oh, so edgy! Too bad millions upon millions of people disagree with you. And if they sucked so much, they wouldn't have been successful, and the series wouldn't have lasted....and Connery's career would have died. Instead, he became a global icon for the rest of his life, and synonymous with James Bond.
Vor 4 MonateDaniel Jaramillo
It's boring af though. That's why Connery movies suck
Vor 4 Monatecaomhan84
Also they did that because in the '60s not everyone could afford to "jet set". That was part of the appeal of the original Bond films.
Vor 5 MonateEphraim Belnap
I like to think Connery was just really proud of that hatrack trick and insisted on putting it in when he could.
Vor 7 MonateAlaa Mohamed
"This is the ideal evil body. You may not like it, but this is what peak evil performance looks like" That cracked me up :D

@nooctip worth more than one thumbs up.

@nooctip hey if i had that kinda evil money i would be morbidly obese

Sadly when you have a horde of minions to do all your evil acts for you it's hard to stay in shape. Now flunkie bring me a fillet minion, baked alska, 51 scotch, and the plans of the louvre.

@Jonathan Baker lol that was a thing where I come from too more body more money 😅
Vor 6 Monatejdlandisify
Was really hoping you’d throw in the Leslie Nielsen “Spy Hard” moment where he tries the hat tossing trick but makes the hat rack crash into a glass display case :)
Vor 7 Monatecwinowich
lmao spy hard is amazing
Vor 7 TageHugo
Or Rowan Atkinson in Johnny English, where he tosses his coat out of the window.
Vor 6 Monaterandomname
Leslie Nielsen is a treasure
Vor 7 MonateRick O'Shay
He also could have thrown in the Johnny English moments.
Vor 7 MonateOcker3
Or the 1967 Casino Royale!
Vor 7 MonateElliot Winge
Fun fact: Ian Flemming liked Connery's preformance so much that he canonically made Bond scottish.
Vor 7 Monatecodename617
@nichevo1 And that's why For Your Eyes Only is my favorite Roger Moore Bond film. I liked him less silly. Kinda wish the opening was more serious since he's basically killing the man responsible for the death of his wife, but I get that it was mainly just a giant middle finger to Kevin McClory.
Vor 4 MonateLuiz Neto
@Chris Lindsay I think it was in On Her Majesty's Secret Service or You Only Live Twice.
Vor 5 Monatenichevo1
@brachiator1 Simon Templar was kind of the boy who became James Bond the man. Moore was the warm charming type but the steel showed through in scenes like Locke's death in For Your Eyes Only.
Vor 6 MonateRaoul Duke
@Edward Bedor I believe it was his wife or girlfriend that saw Connery in another movie and persuaded him, Fleming, to audition him for the role.

"how much of this is Bond and how much is Connery, we'll never know" yikes but good line lol
Vor 7 MonateSteven Scott
@vbddfy euuyt I imagine Bond slacking off on his Japan-familiarization research, frantically cramming before his trip, and then being too egotistical to keep his mouth shut about things he barely skimmed.
Vor 6 Monatevbddfy euuyt
Fun fact: only low-quality sake is served hot. High-quality sake is typically served cold because heating it causes it to lose flavor and aroma.
Vor 6 Monatevbddfy euuyt
The disrespect for Timothy dalton is unreal lol
Vor 6 MonateBadchi
Dalton’s Bond was grim, depressing, realistic and relatable. A solid second place in my book, way above cartoonish Moore.
Vor 4 MonateBec Noremac-Mail
I love how the "secret" agent tells everyone his real name. There is even one hotel check in where he's like "I'm Bond, James Bond. I have a reservation under the name Mr Bird" Subtle
Vor 2 MonatePreston Vander Ven
You forgot the Rock by Michael Bay. We all know Mason was James Bond. He was the British spies who stole the files. It fits the timeline and narrative perfectly.
Vor 7 MonateMantis Toboggan
The only good Michael Bay film
Vor 23 TageMega ducK
Yeah I like to think that’s what happened to him after Diamonds are forever
Vor 2 Monatebcvbb hyui
Fun fact: only low-quality sake is served hot. High-quality sake is typically served cold because heating it causes it to lose flavor and aroma.
Vor 7 Monateskarpethinn
It's funny how everyone always bags Timothy Dalton's Bond; Ian Fleming himself said he based the look of Bond on Hoagy Carmichael, which out of all the Bond actors is, indeed closest (to my eye, at least) to Connery; but if you read the original description Fleming himself wrote for Bond, it is basically Timothy Dalton feature for feature.
Vor 6 MonateMega ducK
Daltons the man and his performances where great , I liked both his films but I can see why people didn’t like them at the time after Moore . I think they’re reputations rather unfair though .
Vor 2 MonateSkyebright1
I think it was more the films themselves than Dalton’s appearance or acting
Vor 6 MonateTricky Ω117
Random story time - I once learned to play Baccarat because I was going to be in Monaco and wanted to do the James Bond thing... sans suave and the backing of Her majesty, of course. I got suited and booted and went to Casino de Monte-Carlo specifically to play baccarat. I wandered up... fought through the sea of guys in long shorts, polo shirts and caps, finally making it up the steps. The lovely person at the door told me I looked lovely and asked what I was looking to play. I said "Baccarat". With a gentle sigh and a smile I was advised that no one plays that anymore and to open a table would require something special (money loaded players - which I was not). Blackjack it was for me that night , along with some jolly nice folk wearing long shorts who were bored of the slots. Good night... dream shattering, but good
Vor 7 MonateJeffrey Jeziorski

@Christopher Wilson so, it's similar to faro?
Vor 4 Monatethe wizzard
If you did this 50 years ago it would have worked. Like people looking for hustle and bussle. No one has worn a bussle in over 100 years.
Vor 6 MonateAbh D
Vegas has a lot of baccarat tables
Vor 6 MonateChristopher Wilson
@Statalyzer You really only make one decision in most forms of baccarat (though notably NOT the form Bond plays): player, bank, or draw (draw being a really dumb bet to make). The game basically plays automatically after that. But it has very good odds and a low house edge.
Vor 6 MonateThor L
I actually really like Roger Moore too, he’s my second favorite bond. His movies were fun and not taken too seriously
Vor 6 MonateThor L
@RagingGeekazoid Lol I still love both, but yeah Moore’s bond plays to the fantasy a bit more
Vor 3 MonateRagingGeekazoid
Moore is for fans who realize that Bond is just a macho fantasy. Connery is for those who don't. 😄
Vor 3 MonateIan Chandler
He has his pros and Connerys, but I quickly bonded with the character.

Vor 6 MonatePRdeSO
@ZanFear I agree those films were good overall
Vor 6 MonateZanFear
@Paulafan5 What are you even talking about? The Living Daylights is honestly one of my favourites; however, a LOT of other Bond fans love License to Kill more.
Vor 6 MonateDaniel Hornby
@PRdeSO it really is a great film. Yeah, the others were woeful in comparison and they somehow managed to make the films progressively worse. Invisible cars etc., ice palaces… 🤢

The hair across from the door is straight from the books which is straight from WW2 actual experience. Ian’s brother Peter Fleming was a “spy” and his group found that the best way to discover if someone entered their room was placing a stray hair in a tucked away place. BTW Dalton is my bond.

That was funny! Actually I LOVE every aspect you mentioned. So ranking the Bond actors: 1, Connery 2, Moore 3, Lazemby 4, Craig 5, Brosnan 6, Dalton Really love every movie before Moonraker. The 80s kinda killed the atmosphere I guess.
Vor 6 MonateFlocks of Foxes
Bond checks into hotels because the series has never really been about being a spy. It's about being a celebrity on vacation in beautiful locales around the world.
Vor 7 MonateSilverKitty

Vor 28 Tagewhwhywhywhywhywhywhy
That's what being a spy was prior to the cold war lol
Vor 2 Monatereav3rtm
@Nick Llama He is bonding with them obviously.
Vor 6 Monatemr Meerkat
There is a element of truth in that. It's like they want to shoot scenes around the globe in certain locations and then write a plot to connect them all.
Vor 7 MonateAndrew Johnson
I would suggest the book The Irregulars if you want to now just how unlike a Bond movie the spycraft of the time the original Bond novels were written really was.
Vor 7 Monatedont care
This felt like an old honest trailer when it was fresh and original. More like this.
Vor 6 MonateAdmrlLocke
I grew up on those Sean Connery Bond movies and I can't recall the last time I laughed so much, even at a great Honest Trailers video! Is this what the bullet sees?! :-D
Vor 6 MonateTara Oakwell
Great retro trailer, and nice to see some George Lazenby appreciation.
Vor 6 MonateJuarez Family
Hey screen junkies. I love the honest trailers and its very clear you put a lot of effort into them because of how good they are. I would like to recommend that you do Castaway with Tom Hanks. It would be an awesome. Thank you and can't wait for the next video.
Vor 6 MonateSpencer Kindra
Love this! Obviously I'd prefer it if you made individual trailers for ALL the Bond films but compilation trailers like this are the closest we'll ever to that haha.
Vor 7 MonateChris Daily
Thank you for making this. It brought me back to eight grade when I was in my James Bond phase. I've since grown out but I'll never forget it.
Vor 7 MonateNicholas Kinkaid
Sean Connery is an absolute legend.

glad to hear Lazenby get the credit that he deserves, OHMSS is my favourite classic Bond film.
Vor 7 MonateAiM_ Mingo
Now that you did James Bond, Austin Powers is expected!
Vor 7 MonateGiampaolo Fini
Until I just watched this, for 30 or so years I thought the "gun barrel" trope was supposed to be the inner aperture of an older camera. I guess it makes more sense for it to be a gun barrel (with the rifling grooves) but those are typically so long compared to the bore opening, it would have to be pointed perfectly at all times to appear so "flat" and frame bond perfectly- the sort of smoothness in hand movement would be impossible for mortal men. Also, it kind of makes sense that a spy (probably wearing a hat and glasses while trying to read a newspaper inconspicuously) would be taking photos of bond. Was it really supposed to be a gun barrel the whole time and I'm r-slurred or is sometimes it more of a camera aperture?
Vor 7 MonatePilotjs
definitely not just you. then again, the first time i watched james bond was with my father when i was six...
Vor 4 MonateAutism Family
Oh c'mon. Bond checking into hotels is riveting stuff, lol.
Vor 7 MonateOzymandias Nullifidian

Vor 6 Monatekaijudirector
The series made that and meetings with the boss awesome. I always love seeing those bits 'cause they're made of class.
Vor 6 MonateChris Chivers
Well done guys, except for your ranking of the Bond actors. True Bond fans rate Dalton far higher on the list.
Vor 7 MonateChris L
Yep, Dalton mostly suffers for having been in only 2 movies. It's hard to do much with the role if you're only getting two movies to work with. Plus, Connery was clearly phoning it in by those last few appearances, especially Never Say Never Again, which is clearly inferior in every way to Thunderball despite both using the same source material.
Vor 6 MonateMartin Sproule
Dalton is hugely underrated!
Vor 7 MonateMic L
ok, will check him out again. I was too young back then...
Vor 6 MonateRaft Lack

Vor 7 MonateLinkMarioSamus
Okay now we need honest trailers for more ‘60s classics, like the Dollars Trilogy and Space Odyssey.
Vor 7 Monatehhhorb
I know this is an old video, but that Top Five Bond is on point. Lazenby, that movie was a mess but his and Rigg's performances were magic, and it's still the most tragic Bond ending. I love your videos, y'all do a ton of research.
Vor 6 MonateMitch Neu
Awesome HT!!!!! Respectfully though, my personal Bond ranking from Best to Worst is different: 1. Sean Connery(best Bond period) 2. Pierce Brosnan(the one I grew up with) 3. Timothy Dalton(extremely underappreciated) 4. Roger Moore(comedy master until his last two, then it got ridiculous) 5. Daniel Craig(like how he made Bond more human, but couldn’t he lighten up a little bit? Too serious for my taste) 6. George Lazenby(pretty much by default bc he only did OHMSS)

Vor 6 MonateJesse Stirling
Love this channel! And I’m one of those weirdos who think Connery was a great Bond, but only the fourth best (Behind Craig, Brosnan & Moore).
Vor 7 MonateDamien Magerman
My God... some of your best work, I'm glad you've still got it😂🤣🔥🔥🔥Fucking brilliant 💪🏽
Vor 7 MonateSamuel Barber
Definitely my favourite Bond. He has this elegant suavity and charisma that makes him perfect for the role. I love the sixties Bond movies and a lot of that love comes from Connery. Heck, Thunderball is favourite Bond film, coming just behind Craig’s Casino Royale. Let’s be honest, every Bond film from 1962-1969 is a classic, though my favourites are From Russia With Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball.
Vor 7 MonateSarah DeLand
Now that I’ve finished watching “The Bad Batch”, it’s time for an Honest Trailer about it!
Vor 7 MonateChadMan
To answer your question about the gun barrel, yes. The barrel of guns have groves in it to make the bullet spin which makes it shoot straight, increasing it's accuracy.
Vor 7 MonateChadMan
@Cooper Wolfe it is
Vor 6 MonateCooper Wolfe
Let’s be honest. The gun barrel sequence is one of the most iconic logos in all of cinema
Vor 6 MonateWest Dee
Roger Moore is the greatest Bond. He never panicked, and was smooth at all times.
Vor 6 MonateB Miller
Gotta disagree - Connery, then Craig and Dalton, then Moore, then ... it doesn't matter. Dalton was doing the serious, "real" Bond decades before Craig.
Vor 7 MonateBLewisArts
Now that we're doing classics, please do an honest trailer for Big Trouble in Little China
Vor 7 MonateBLewisArts
@OrganDanai you might be right! I've been asking off and on for years at this point lol maybe they'll see our requests and make it happen 🤞🤞
Vor 7 MonateOrganDanai
Yeah! I asked it a number of times too, but I guess Honest Trailers is too scared to touch such an iconic movie. 😎
Vor 7 MonateMatthew Geer
I really wish Dalton got more than two movies.
Vor 7 MonateChris L
Yes, I'd also liked to have seen a couple more with the Lazenby. He wasn't a great actor, but the writing on his film had so much potential going forward. He had an actual character arc for the first time in any Bond film.

People seem to think Bond is a good guy. He's literally a government assassin. He's an anti-hero and he's not meant to be entirely sympathetic.
Vor 7 MonateJOHN GR
@Mariano Torrespico Being an evil person does not automatically erase one's humanity. No one deserves to be forced into a sexual activity. No exceptions! It's just inhumane!
Vor 5 MonateCaleb Rogers
@Mariano Torrespico "they deserve the sexual assault" is basically what you're saying?

Vor 5 MonateKuyaMarc Astig Vicente
Sean Connery was the original James Bond and he's the best action adventure actor ever. RIP Sean Connery. 😢 😭
Vor 4 MonateJeff Light
Great video. People forget that these old Bonds could be pretty slow-moving at times. Also...reaaaaaaly dated in some respects. Classics, all the same.
Vor 7 MonateBettina W.
Please say in your EPIC voice: "Well, well, we meet again, Trebek..." Or in your Sean Connery voice, however you like. 😉
Vor 7 MonateChaosReigner
hey, dalton is really neat in hot fuzz, doctor who, and doom patrol. who knows what he could do if he was put in something good (nah, those things are good).
Vor 7 MonateChris L
Dalton got kind of screwed on Bond. There were some legal disputes that meant that there weren't any movies that could be made until they got settled. By that point he was on to other things and they had their eyes on Brosnan. He was a perfectly respectable Bond and the opening sequence to The Living Daylights was one of the best out of all the films.

Don't sleep on George Lazenby. On Her Majesty's Secret Service may be his only film, but if he has wanted to continue, he may have been a damn good Bond. Underrated 007 movie.

Vor 7 Monateaaron rumph
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is thought to be one of the best films: on RT it is higher than any Roger Moore, Dalton or Brosnan film. The only ranking list that had it below number 10 was the film magazine which says something about how much love it has

"Hotel Time" lets the audience breathe, it shows that the movies takes their time with the plot and characters. It's shallow in bond because let's be honest, they're shallow movies. But its something soorly missing in modern movies.
Vor 6 Monatevbddfy euuyt
Craig, Brosnan, Lazenby, Connery, Dalton, Moore
Vor 6 MonateZanFear
Honestly, Sean Connery was the "rapiest" of all the Bonds. That's what I concluded after watching all the films again.

For the next evolution/iteration of Bond, do you think it'll be set in present day/near future, or will it be a bounce back to the mid-twentieth century?

Vor 7 MonateAtheist Orphan
@floydster23 - You’re right! Don’t know how I missed that. I agree, OHMSS is indeed an excellent film.
Vor 7 Monatefloydster23
@Atheist Orphan If you noticed, Honest Trailers put Lazenby at No.1 in the video at 6:52. Which is fair, because OHMSS is the best Bond film.

I'll fight you. Dalton played Bond closest to how Fleming wrote him in the books.

It was the swave, intelegent Roger Moore they have been seeing for years that made the man.

Dalton was my favorite Bond by far!

@Guillermo lol. Ok then. Enjoy your two C level bond movies by both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. That is if you are cultured enough to re-watch them. Here's my list. 3-5 are a toss up, but 1, 2, and 6 are locked in place. 1. Connery 2. Lazenby 3. Craig 4. Brosnan 5. Moore 6. Dalton

After watching the Lazenby Bond documentary. I actually approve of the guy.

Now do a Honest Trailer of every time Darrell Hammond impersonated Sean Connery on SNL 😂

The thing with James Bond is, you just cannot take it seriously. A famous spy who knows everybody and vice versa. Roger Moore in his best years for me is the perfect Bond (The Spy Who Loved Me). Connery in Goldfinger is a worthy second and a classic. They just need to recut that damn golf scene which goes on for ages.
