Oh fucking BOY do I have some stories about asshole customers. Things they've been pissed off about include: 1. Running out of stock of the year's hottest items on the DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2. Having a long line for returns/exchanges on the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS 3. Not accepting a return for a product we had never sold (No, we can't give you store credit if the UPC has never existed in our database at any time, ever) 4. Not accepting a competitor coupon for gas for $.040 off per gallon (the sign clearly stated we only matched up to $0.20 off per gallon, we were willing to match that but not the full $0.40) 5. Not accepting a return for a pair of sunglasses the guy had clearly sat on and destroyed (one of the frames was bent inwards and the lens had popped out completely) 6. Not accepting a return for a week-old gallon of milk that was half-empty 7. Not allowing a customer to leave with a product she hadn't paid for because her check was declined (she had a 5-hour energy drink in her hand and the asst. manager called out to her as she was leaving, she turned around and threw it at their face) 8. Not replacing a damaged cell phone screen under warranty when we plainly tell every customer that the warranty only covers *part failures* and not accidental damage (this is also stated on the receipt that they sign which is a legally binding agreement) 9. Not agreeing to sell a product at (or sometimes even below) cost because "I'll give you guys so much future business" (MULTIPLE people tried this one) 10. Completing a repair *too quickly* (they had driven home and we called to let them know it was done as they were getting home, they got angry because they'd have to leave right away to come and get it) 11. Not having an obscure part for a six-year-old cell phone in stock (they did not call ahead of time to check and complained because they had six screaming kids in the car) 12. Not being able to sell them a computer that would never fail or become obsolete (she went on a 15-minute screaming rant about how Microsoft and all the computer retailers and manufacturers were in cahoots and it's perfectly possible to make a computer that will not need to be upgraded or replaced for 20+ years) 13. Offering cases and screen protectors for a cell phone after a costly repair (not the actual customer, but his friend said "If you try to sell my bro one more shitty overpriced add-on, I'm gonna jump over this counter and punch you") 14. Not being able to know ahead of time that a part is bad and delays a repair (can't test a camera until the phone is fully reassembled and then you have to start over again if the camera is bad) 15. Not having enough pickle slices - this is the wildest one, the guy said something along the lines of "I get extra pickles all the time, and this burger has SIX FEWER PICKLE SLICES than last time. Give me the name of whoever made this burger, I'm calling corporate and getting them fired for cheating me out of my pickles!" I worked in retail/food service for over a decade, and this isn't even nearly a comprehensive list of all the times customers got mad and/or violent over things that were either trivial or that the employees had no control over - these are just the ones that stuck with me. It's kinda sad that these all happened before it was commonplace for people to record Karens freaking out at underpaid service workers, because I could make a fucking killing on TikTok with all the shit I've put up with. I have since moved on to working in corporate/business IT roles and while I still deal with some impatient and unreasonable people, it's not nearly as bad (presumably because the person I'm talking to is almost never the person actually paying for the service) So yeah, ditto on the "people are unreasonably rude to retail/fast food workers" bit. 100% realistic.

@W_H_Y thank you so much for respecting service workers. Respect goes so damn far. You brought a smile to my face and I can say that it’s not unnoticed by housekeepers when this is the case at all. Housekeepers will remember kind clients many years down the road. It’s sadly shocking how many people treat housekeepers either badly directly or like they simply don’t exist. I’ve had to get some thick skin over the years standing up for my employees, myself, as well as any other employees that happen to have nothing to do with my own service. Most rude people aren’t expecting a stern response. Again thank you

I'll give you a bit of the inside scoop on this film. It was written, directed, and produced by the director who also played the mean guy in the bathroom who shoved paper towel down the neck of Jack's penguin costume. He and his wife also did the casting. The director also edited the film... The casting was mostly done through cattle calls in NE Indiana. There was not a lot of direction going on during filming so that's the only defense I can give to a lot of the bad acting in the film. Nothing like "project," or "try that differently..." There weren't a lot of takes on the film either... meaning, each scene was only shot a few times...sometimes only 2-3 takes. I believe the budget was something like $10,000. The members of the cast were only given the scenes they were in. We knew zero about the film other than what we'd read in auditions and the scenes we appeared in. So there was no context given to anything we were doing. None of the actors were paid. Not even the leads. The leads were given... I think 2-3% of the proceeds of the film? Something like that. None of the supporting cast or extra were paid anything. They didn't even cater food during filming. Being on set wasn't much different than being in a community theatre production - except there wasn't any rehearsals. I've done a lot of theatre, playing leads and large supporting roles, and was extremely disappointed in my own performance. But again, we weren't getting much direction so none of us really had any idea we sounded or looked that bad. Wardrobe... came from our own closets...there was no costume department. There was very little to no make-up done. Props were off the cuff...no prop dept. So, again, 10K budget... very little direction... And an interesting tid bit... the mean mom and the fighting kids at the restaurant were actually the wife and kids of the actor who played Wesley. So... there's the dirt.

Wow - that’s really interesting - thanks for the insider information. I don’t understand why the actors agreed to work for free. I was an extra in a movie once (straight to DVD, but starred Christopher Walken - but he wasn’t there on my day). It took 12 hours and I appeared for 2-3 seconds. We got “lunch” at about 10 pm and T-shirts printed with the working title and logo. It was fun and educational, but I wouldn’t do it again. I can’t imagine how much time you actual actors put in, and they didn’t even feed you! I’m sorry you ended up with a performance you’re not proud of, through no fault of your own. Are you in any of the clips shown here? By the way, I did get to meet the director, Anson Williams, who played Potsie on Happy Days, so that was neat. I’m old, and that was a show I loved as a kid, so that meant mkre to me than it probably would have for most people who watch this channel.

Fun fact: That whole "work for free for a week" part is actually, uh, *very illegal* (in the US, at least). Unless you are doing an internship through an accredited university or trade school program, or volunteering for a nonprofit, companies are *required by law* to pay you at least minimum wage. And even in unpaid internships, companies have to be *very* careful about what work you do - basically, if you are providing anything of value to the company (such as designing a shirt, flipping a burger, or yes, even tendering payment from a customer), then you *must* be financially compensated for it. The department of labor has very strict rules about what constitutes an internship vs. employment. This is also why many companies in the US have stopped doing unpaid internships - in *2015 alone,* Warner Music paid out 4.2 million dollars, NBC paid out 6.4 million dollars, and Viacom paid out 7.2 million dollars due to lawsuits involving unpaid internships. As a Smart, Professional Hardworking Bad Dad and Business Guy, Jack should fucking know this. In fact, he could have stood to make a fair bit of money trying to get people to work for free and then suing the burger joint. Homeless for the Holidays? More like Class Action Christmas, baby!

restaurants still do this kind of shit, they're called "stages". i once worked for free at a restaurant for a month on the promise of later employment like a jackass bc i was naive and thought it would make me look good to the prospective employer, who fired me immediately after that month for being 10 minutes late. it's illegal but the way labor is treated in the US and neoliberal capitalism as a whole, this kind of stuff happens regularly in many industries, especially food service.

Yeah, poverty as we see it now didn't really exist in the times of Jesus, because the world wasn't industrialized yet. Joseph was a carpenter, so he likely built their home and offered his services to others to barter for other goods and services, and carpentry certainly wasn't in low demand at the time. Lots of people had their own small farms and/or gardens and rarely needed to purchase or barter for basic needs such as food, shelter, and water. Sure, they were poor by today's standards, but anyone other than the richest people in the Roman Empire were poor by today's standards. There is even a line of scripture that states that even though he *was* rich, Jesus *chose* to be poor to show people the virtue of poverty: "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich." 2 Corinthians 8:9

3:19 Is nobody else concerned that this Santa literally cursed someone (and by association, their entire FAMILY) to be homeless because that person didn’t donate ‘enough money’? I mean, how did the Santa even know it was being selfish? What if the guy didn’t have a lot of cash money on him? What if he had already donated to a different charity and didn’t have a lot left over? What if he was poor and didn’t have a lot of money to spare??

Not to mention, people in Santa costumes would not be collecting money for a church. Santa Claus is an American recontextualization of an old European legend that's based *very loosely* on a real Bishop from the third century AD. People in Santa costumes almost exclusively raise money for The Salvation Army and similar nonprofits. In my experience at least, churches rarely send people out to collect donations unless they're doing a food drive - and that money's for the food, not for the church. They get plenty of money from the weekly donations from their members. Now, if they showed him being stingy with the collection plate at church every Sunday, that would make a lot more sense, and also remove the inconsistency of someone in a Santa suit being out in fucking September.

"homeless for the holidays" implies like being homeless is some kind of radical nature walk experience, like its something u can do over the summer to avoid the wintertime - i was *actually* homeless for the holidays and guess what bitches, its fucking depressing. especially if its ur first holiday being homeless, it sucks even worse while everyone around u is all cheerful and spending money frivolously, because they dont even think abt it, then get into a nice car and turn on some heat or an ac and live carefree. sorry but living underneath huge concrete bleachers and getting the fire station called on me to come and soak all my stuff down just bc i was trying to keep warm in the rain and snow, doesnt exactly inspire me to wanna watch a goddamn christmas movie abt it!!!! and what kind of knucklehead thought to themself "oh my god look at those people over there suffering on the street! imagine if we made a christmas movie completely mocking everything they have to go through!"

Considering the many different ways that people end up in my situation, this “movie” missed a golden opportunity to tell a story that might actually mean something. Man, this is accidently really a good representation of an abusive relationship. Seriously, that wife is *textbook* abusive. Also, I like how the movie tried to have an Anti-capitalist message by... Treading out the message of capitalism unopposed.

LMAOOO I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE KID! His name is Cole and we went to a private Christian high school in Fort Wayne. He bullied me a lot, but it was mostly kinda just funny cause he was so small. I'm sorry to say, but he's super conservative. Like, hates gay people, hates women. He used to get in debates in our World History class over saying women shouldn't be allowed to vote. We're both adults now so he might be different now, but when we were kids he would have gagged at the idea of "socialist theory." God this is so funny to me.

As someone whose lived through homelessness for three years. I am legitimately offended by the portrayal of being unhoused. Like, it’s not a playful romp through a tent city in a park. My experience was getting mild hypothermia from sleeping in my car and bathing at truck stops before school. It wasn’t fun. And so many people fight homelessness all the fucking time and it really pisses me off.

Craziest story I have for when I was homeless is the night I almost got shot. I was sleeping in a car and saw two guys fighting like 10 yards from my car. I just laid back and hoped they wouldn’t notice I was awake and watching. Next thing I know one guy ran to his truck after getting knocked down and other dude was running after him. Next thing I know other homie is running away. Now I lived in the hood, I know people don’t just run. Other dude comes around from the truck and has a whole ass colt 45. I laid back mad fast and just clutched my sword, my biggest comfort I’ve had since I was 12 and swordsmanship saved my life. Like 10 seconds later I hear the gun go off. Next morning when I get out of the car the bullet is in the door. I’m still convinced that the soul of my best friend saved my life that night. Being homeless is not some fun time that’s easy. It’s dangerous and is one of the worst times in a persons life

Quality Assurance and former Regulatory (labeling) specialist here: A company will _absolutely_ throw you under the bus if it was directly your fault that a bunch of people got sick due to your negligence. When the FDA comes cracking down on your factory, everything gets flipped upside down, everyone's in a rush to cover every @$$ that can be covered, and if they narrow it down to one person, that person (and probably their manager, possibly going way up the chain even to the VPs) is on the chopping block. If you put "peanut free" on something and some kid goes into anaphylactic shock and dies, someone's going to jail, and everyone's shouting "not it." At best, if no one's dead, the FDA will be breathing down your company's neck for years and the brand will lose public trust, and at least someone will be asked to resign.

@Reed W. no we arent. The inflation is caused by many things. Im not sure if you noticed but there is a war going on in europe that is directly effecting the entire world with inflation and shortages. Like i said, the prices would not rise high enough to make the difference between a family affording a meal and not affording it. Inflation would be negligible at best since more money would be going into the economy. When rich people make all of the money the vast majority of it doesnt go back into the economy, they just hoard it. When workers make more they purchase local goods. Economics 101

@Manigeitora Not being allowed to say Merry Christmas on Christmas is pretty stupid. There would be major backlash if a company disallowed black/Jewish employees from saying "Happy Kwanzaa/Happy Hanukkah" on either holiday, should they choose to observe it. Oh my god as someone working retail during the holidays, I hated that shit so much. It was literally *company mandated* that we not say Merry Christmas because GUESS WHAT that's not the only religious holiday practiced in December!

I love it when you think you're watching a normal movie but in the last 5 minutes it swerves hard into being a Christian movie. A few years ago I watched this movie about a couple getting tortured at a shady motel.
Vor 7 MonateShannihilator
restaurants still do this kind of shit, they're called "stages". i once worked for free at a restaurant for a month on the promise of later employment like a jackass bc i was naive and thought it would make me look good to the prospective employer, who fired me immediately after that month for being 10 minutes late. it's illegal but the way labor is treated in the US and neoliberal capitalism as a whole, this kind of stuff happens regularly in many industries, especially food service.

@Manigeitora Jesus was pretty based tbh
Vor MonatManigeitora

Vor yearOptimistPrime69

I’m homeless. It is the holidays and yeah, it is nothing like that. Kinda depressing and sad actually. Considering the many different ways that people end up in my situation, this “movie” missed a golden opportunity to tell a story that might actually mean something. But let’s forget all of my sad bulls$&!t and focus on how you somehow manage to put a smile on my face in an otherwise cold, unhappy, and depressing season. I appreciate you mister mayor.

Vor 3 MonateThat_Seagull
@Boogity Hoo they really don't deserve more than 7 an hour. Learn new skills and make yourself more valuable as an employee. It's not that hard to do. People are so greedy, it's not fair to pay a fast food worker 20 an hour when someone with tools, plumbing and electrical skills worked their asses off to make that.
Vor 3 MonateDecrepit Elmo
@Riy Meep Oh my god there's such a large amount of people who hate when people speak Spanish and i don't understand
Vor 4 MonateAnti-Theistocles
@Reed W. no we arent.
Vor 8 MonateReed W.
@Anti-Theistocles if you pay more then inflation will follow. We are seeing this now.

This movie is basically just rich people imagining how poor people live.

Vor 2 yearseiffie darkness
@My Namo ok one I never really cared or attacked anyone for copying a comment Two some people might copy comment for likes but others might just not have read it we can't read them all lol sometimes an idea popps into ur head and u just write it not checking if someone already wrote same comment its such a minor thing that like why would I waste my time checking if someone else also wrote the same thing
Vor 2 yearsTheLastHylianTitan
It really is! And the heartlessness in this movie proves it! I mean yeah there are shitty people out there who don’t give a damn about the people that suffer around them but there are other people who actually HELp and support those in need! Do the rich think that the poor eat each other alive on a daily basis?! Because there is such a thing as community and altruism, which are apparently foreign concepts to the writers of this movie.

“It’s okay to say Merry Christmas!” -someone offended by everyone having happy holidays
Vor yearGeneric Name
@K You understand how Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are different than Christmas. You understand that the holidays of minorities are not comparable to the most popular holiday in Winter.
Vor MonatK
@Manigeitora Not being allowed to say Merry Christmas on Christmas is pretty stupid. There would be major backlash if a company disallowed black/Jewish employees from saying "Happy Kwanzaa/Happy Hanukkah" on either holiday, should they choose to observe it. That double standard makes it glaringly obvious that the root of such "politically correct" movements are fueled by bigotry in it's self against people who profess to be Christian.
Vor 2 MonateManigeitora
Oh my god as someone working retail during the holidays, I hated that shit so much. It was literally *company mandated* that we not say Merry Christmas because GUESS WHAT that's not the only religious holiday practiced in December! But how DARE we use an all-inclusive phrase instead of one specific to your faith, because we can totally tell if someone is celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, or Saturnalia, just by looking at them.

No, Christianity teaches that patience and humbleness bring you closer to God. And God is closer to the people who are suffering.
Vor 14 TageLisette García
@HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE sorry, mistaken. There is no US government contract for services with the USCCB stating it is clearly a donation. Usaspending(dot)gov is the website listing all federal contacts. A search of USCCB (also listed under 8 other names) shows millions in refugee resettlement services among other public-private social welfare jobs the USCCB competes with other federal contractors for.
Vor 25 TageDecrepit Elmo
@HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE Baptist.
Vor 26 TageHOLY ROMAN EMPIRE
@Decrepit Elmo So? Since the reformation, so many Protestant denominations pop up that Christianity has become such a broad term that could mean people with almost any beliefs. Infact, there are even movements of Atheist Christians and Secular Christians. So merely stating that you were raised as Christian means nothing. This is just like that saying "oh, I went to a Catholic school. So I know what I'm talking about"
Vor 26 TageHOLY ROMAN EMPIRE
@Lisette García A business transaction that clearly states that it is a donation and the only thing they are obligated to do is to do what they claimed to do, which is, to give healthcare. The agreement permits those Catholic hospitals to provide healthcare in accordance with their conscience.
