I liked that as a young kid when it came out. I had a problem though. There was this little red headed freckled faced girl named Paula that was in love with me for some reason. I'll admit, she was a sweet girl but of no interest to me at the time. I didn't want to hurt her feelings. I don't remember what happened but I tried to be as nice as possible.

Its a beautiful song I remember in 1963 as a teenager. However I later found out that Paul and Paula had different personal names and that Paul and Paula were just show names. How disappointing because these two were not lovers or boyfriend girlfriend. Paula . They were just friends yes just friends but had to keep the song going as a love song to sell it. Ray Hildebrand was Paul who wrote the song. They were lifelong friends. Check out the bio on them they really were not lovers and never married to each other. They had their own spouses. Paula name was Jill Jackson...... the rest is history.

I once met an " Lisa Douglas " a simply stunning woman. She was married 22 years, y gained her confidence y love y then started beating on her brutally. I love this song so much and pretty much all oldies from the 50’s and 60’s. I’m 29 years old but my dad played me this and other old songs. They always resonated with me on a deep level as if I was not a 90’s kid but a teenager in the time of this music. I feel it with every fiber of my being and hear it with more than my ears. I also enjoy classic movies, even black and white. I’m an old soul and I love that God made me this way.
