I won't lie, I wanted Wilder to beat him. But after Wilder making every excuse in the book and now hearing how Tyson Fury over came depression and suicidal thoughts despite being on top of the boxing world, I grew a lot of respect for him. Speaks volumes that money and fame cannot always guarantee happiness. We take so many people for granted and quick to write them off or not be a fan just because you're a fan of someone else. But this seems to show that you should really take time seeing how the person really is in his everyday life. You just might learn something.

Fury isn’t bothered about the money. He now doesn’t have to worry about it and to have enough takes a lot of worries away but He’s always said the people he has around him is far more important. A strong family unit with close friends is better for your health than money

Exactly the same here. I remember watching it in the middle of the night through tears. I've struggled for as long as I can remember, even now at 25 working in a job I love, with so much to look forward to, I wake up a lot thinking I don't want to be here anymore. But seeing Tyson's rise from the brink is such an inspiration for me and a reminder to keep going.

I really needed to hear this right now. I've been battling alcoholism and suicidal thoughts after losing my job last month. After this last fight between wilder and fury, I searched this episode out not really knowing why. I know why now. It was meant for me, and many other people to hear and watch. Massive respect for both Tysons. Things happen for a reason and I truly believe that. Love this show. Thanks for having him on Mike.

You might not be surprised to know that there so many people that have felt the way you have. My ex stopped me from seeing my kids, and I went to bed with a carving knife because I couldn’t deal with the pain. But I couldn’t do it to my kids, and sucked it up. Now she’s got cancer, and her life is done. If I would have taken myself out, my kids would have been orphans. I don’t believe in god, but I do believe in fate. Honestly, it's just incredible that this interview happened, and that we also get to experience it. I'd be so happy just knowing that these two men had the opportunity to sit down and relate to each other. The way Tyson looks at Mike, the way Mike makes space for Tyson to talk. It's so far beyond boxing or sport. As a man, I think it's important to acknowledge the vulnerability and courage that occurs here. Two raw, but powerful, men talking about the most vulnerable aspects of themselves. We could all learn from this.

@Spiral81C1 I'm sure that there are a lot of factors that affect people's perceptions of boxers. I don't think it's so unreasonable to think that these perceptions of boxers would be affected by people's perception of other boxers. Each boxer's reputation doesn't exist in a void, but rather it's affected by those of others in the same division/their rivals too. Anyway, let's agree to disagree.

yes he was great in this one ... and in others .. he only steps in if he has to - great interviewer ... I know he has lots more questions in each interview that he wants to ask ( and quite frankly I want him to ask too) but he lets each guests relationship with mike unfold naturally .. and the camera man/woman is on the same page . Everybody above is talking about Tyson's involuntary respect for Mike .. I don't think so and the camera show's it ... I think they work through to an understanding .. Tyson is trying to follow Mike (because it aint always easy) and he can't always empathise, but as the conversation gets really deep we see a burgeoning respect develop between the three men (let's not forget the interviewer, who saves it from a couple of moments of almost death, but has the strength to let it go to breaking point to get the most from these two), who recognise their differences and their vulnerabilities

I used to think I did not like Mike Tyson at all, but since watching his podcast, I think he is dope, I could watch and listen to him all day he is one of the most fascinating characters. Dude is just high on life, it’s infectious..! Good stuff Mike 😄 I hope Tyson ends up with a similar mentality when he retires 🙏

I love this. Travellers are massively understood, they come from an old school way of life. My best friend came from a huge traveller family, he wasn’t the toughest guy, but he always stood up and made his presence felt, in a good way. I was a good fighter, but he always had more heart than I did. We ended up fighting the traveller gangs, and we held our own. It got so bad that people were getting smashed up, noses bitten off and bottled. We faced off in a bar and they suggested that we shake hands and have a beer together. I didn’t expect that, especially after years of turmoil. But what it showed was they respected us as fighting men, and once respect was earned, it stayed. I’m not a traveller, but I’ve been around some very polite and respectful travellers, and some, not so much. My point is that, it’s easy to judge, and very difficult to understand. I was a good boxer, and understand the ego that comes with that. To hear the honesty from Tyson is truly appreciated. My ex took my kids away from me and I wanted to kill myself. I couldn’t, because I am a father and I couldn’t let them down. Tyson gets it, he’s such an amazing ambassador. When he rejected a deal with the gambling company, makes you realise he’s the real deal. Ps, Tyson will smash the bodybuilder 💪🏻

There has to be something strangely surreal about being named after a guy and then going on to win all the belts that guy did then getting to know him in real life. I so appreciate this deep conversation about personal demons and overcoming them. Many times in my life I've been told that you aren't a Man if you show emotion or weakness, but in my opinion the people that choose to confront their problems and emotions and become stronger from them are Real Men. If you hide from your shit and bury it deep down you are really only fooling yourself! Thank you for sharing your strength with the world!

He was a troubled kid in Brooklyn and then Cus brought him up to the farm in the Catskills and instilled the values in him that never left him; they just got lost in the haze of fame and terrible people that crowbarred their way into his life and made him forget those values for a period of time. But even through the worst of his life you could see Mike still had a beautiful soul. I’m so happy he didn’t veer too far, and is still with us today so we can see the Mike once again that made Cus a proud man before his death.
