Exactly. Most powerful cars from years ago were affordable except the for rare versions. Manufacturers started the craze by dropping bigger motors from larger cars into mid sized cars and simply adding bigger brakes and some minor suspension upgrades, which did not cost a lot.

I am pretty sure there are using a hellaphant engine block on these car. Cuz the hellaphant block and hold more power. They were blow up engines before and that's why is was taking long to bring this out, and to idea of using that.

I think this is the first time I've ever gotten emotional and slightly choked up over a TFL car review.

I remember when the Mustang GT returned, and auto journalist were salivating over its 175hp! People back then knew, they just knew, emissions requirements had killed the muscle car.

Due to the advertised quarter mile speed of the final edition Challenger SRT 170. The NHRA requires a Competition license to drive this car on an NHRA dragstrip. Dodge is also requiring a signed release. I'm guessing this releases Dodge from any liability for drivers who are over their head driving this race car like a race car on the street. I have to ask. With the very limited production numbers and previous Demon owners getting first shot and dealers who decide to keep their allotment. How do you propose getting one of these Cars. I kept hearing Dodge was using the Helephant engine. It appears it used a modified 6.2 with a ton of boost.

Parachute required over 150mph trap speed 2 over 200mph. Because theoretically you could go 101mph throughout the whole 1/4 mile and pull off an 8.91 quarter. Not sure if you’d survive the launch though.🤔

Imo one of the best things about this car is you can throw in 93 at the pump and still get 900hp. Then get to a track and thrown in e85 and away you go

Lol I would think 60' time is 1.66, not 0-60 mph. Unless the weight is brought down substantially for this production run, that car would need well over 1200 hp to get close to an 8 sec run being a portly 4200 lbs!

If they don’t ditch the fake noise and make the Daytona painfully quick and fast, I don’t see Dodge surviving very long. The brand may not die overnight, but it will become Pontiac 2.0 and languish for a few years selling boring prius knockoffs without a prime mover, but its soul will be dead.

Once Stellantis prematurely killed the V8s, Dodge was dead. Top electric cars are sophisticated machines and that is not what Dodge does well nor what its customers are looking for

I am the biggest Mopar fan this side of the Mississippi. My first car was a 67 barracuda. It was the slant six so nothing crazy fast. But I loved that car. The last car I wanted was the Dodge viper. Now it's safe to say that I would love to have this car. The new modifications on the demon are next level. Add all the bells and whistles and it makes this the best car ever. Please let me have one for testing purposes.

Im in bismarck, our chrysler dealership got only 1 demon 170 to sell, when it was avalible 27 people showed the first day at opening, at noon it sold for %100 mark up over msrp at $200,000

It already has. An RT charger is 45k now the same frigging car you could buy for 32k back in 2020. My damn Scat pack I paid 40k for is 60k now. It's a joke I love what dodge did but they still have really bad quality control.
