I think the two dragons are really the Deep Sea Dragon and Kuunavang, when the one says to the other "they built new lives upon the very thing that sought to end theirs" I think means: "in ancient times Canthans were destroyed by the dragon, then the dragon went to sleep, and the new Canthans rebuilt upon that very dragon asleep", this could explain the absence of Echovald, maybe the dragon waking up destroyed completely the forest. I know the DSD is associated to water so maybe was asleep in the depths of the sea which separates Cantha from Tyria but the game is main character centered so I think it's impossible to have the Canthans (+Kurzik +Luxon) defeat a true elder dragon. Call it a "plot shield".

What i take is that probably yes there is the end of Dragons to open space for the return of the six Gods... Dont forget we still dont know what happened in those 250 years for the deities to leave Tyria and if they return. I guess the dragons will reach their end as in no more destruction on their end and eternal slumber for all and the the Gids return to re establish themselvea back in Tyria upon the dragons absence. Just my thought.

I think Kuunavang is the daughter or granddaughter of the elder sea dragon like how Glint was Kralk's daughter and Aurene was Kralk's granddaughter. My theory is that Jormag dies by Primordus but Prim goes mad by the same thing that caused Kralk madness and pain. As such, the elder sea dragon rises from the sea to fight Prim and stop him from destroying Cantha and other Tyria places. The end would be both Prim and the elder sea dragon dying in which their death rebuilds the land or something cause of the reaction lava has to the ocean where it builds land mass. The whole mother comment makes sense because Kralk was apparently the nephew of Jormag and Prim because Jormag calls Aurene his great grandneice. Where as Jormag and Prim are brothers. However I think the elder sea dragon is the one talking to kuunavang and is likely the sister of Prim and Jormag too. Unless she's the mother of them all.

I know I'm pretty late on this, but I believe when the trailer said "they built new lives on the very thing that sought to end theirs" they were talking about the Jade sea, as Cantha was EXTREMELY reliant on its fishing and sea trade, so the sea turning to jade effectively destroyed all of Canthas Trade and food sources, and of course The Echovald forest turned to stone. So the people of Cantha learned to live and make a living off both the Jade Sea and the Echovald Forest.

I am annoyed ArenaNet chose to kill off Vlast, there are officially no good male elder dragons in GW2 which pisses me off. Vlast deserved a chance I hope they will consider giving players a choice to bond with Aurene's offsprings so we can choose to bond with a male dragon as well. They killed off Trahearne, my best bro already and that really pissed me off

Maybe the Canthans managed to subdue the Deep Sea Dragon, and this new character talking to Kuunavang is a dragon that wants to wake up Bubbles. It may be doing this because it believes it is necessary. So we have two non corrupted dragons fighting one another over whether they should protect mortals and find another way, or kickstart the Elder Dragon cycle once more.

It would be really cool if the story surrounds aiding the resistance in Cantha and helping Kurzicks and Luxons regain their sovereignty. So we go to Kaineng City only to get ourselves into trouble with the Dragon Empire and then have to run and fend for our lives which leads us to meeting great descendents of the original Kurzick and Luxon clan - we then undergo this journey to gather forces for a unified rebellion.

Wasn't the story so that Canthan borders were closed because Palawa Joko took over in Elona and was actually in between Tyria and Cantha blocking the travel routes forcing Cantha to close the borders? I remember something like that.

I really don't think that they killed the Deep Sea Dragon. With the line "they built new lives on the very thing that sought to end theirs" my mind instantly went "Jade Sea". While the idea that they may have confronted and at least temporarily subdued an Elder Dragon is very interesting, it didn't seem like that particular sentence talked about that. It would be cool though.

@WoodenPotatoes After a little bit of research, it seems like "Jea" is not pronounced like "flea". Instead, you have a very short audible "-uh" at the end. https://de.howtopronounce.com/chinese/%E5%85%B1%E5%90%8C%E5%BB%BA%E8%AE%BE Check this out, I think Jea is the middle word.

So, my theory is, that the „mysterious new character“ is the dragon thats shown in the teaser and that this is the dragon of time or something. And when Kunavaang says „it doesnt have to be this way“ maybe she is referring to „holding time so mortals dont die“ and then the other dragon says „no, they need me“ as in „they have to die so they dont forget what a lifetime means“ - so maybe there is a fight between those two dragons about stopping/not stopping time to save mortals or whatever

At 21:24, I believe that may not actually be dragons, after recently playing Gw1 again I noticed that in the Undercity in Kaineng City there are pipes that have those kind of "spikes" protruding from them and after watching your video and the trailer again, the way the camera goes down kind of hints at this as well.

I don't think DSD is dead, at least not before the expansion starts. We know there are cataclysmic repercussions once a dragon dies, and there is literally no way it would've gone unnoticed. If your theory is correct, it needs to be the inciting event (I do like the idea that the Canthans are able to kill a dragon on their own, since it shows that all humans have the power of resilience). I am interested in the dialogue line: "They need me". It echos Scarlet's final words ". . . One day, you'll need me". Which was absolutely never addressed. EXCITED!

Me and a friend in my guild had a theory about a year ago about the deep sea dragon. What if it's been trapped in the jade sea since it was frozen over and turned into Jade. What if "built new lives upon the thing that sort to destroy them" literally means they are building new cities on the jade above where the sea drgon is trapped. I think the new expansion will be the end of 2021 and from early 2021 we will get another living world saga dealing with primordus which is asura centric which ends with whats left of the jade sea shattering freeing the water dragon ready for End of Dragons

Hey guys. How about this. When arena net mentioned about cycle being reborn, I automatically thought about Omadd’s machine and the vision of All. Let’s focus about the centre of it. It might be the core of the whole beginning. The “mother” Kralkatorrik mentioned. The oldest thing that exists. I would bet it is the mists. And there might be some other threat hiding there. Kralkatorrik for short amount of time went there. Maybe he wanted to stop something that was about to happen soon. Now Jormag also went there maybe for the same reason. Due to the destabilization of magic, due to killing some of the elder dragons, that threat is beginning to waken. Kuunavang or other chacter is saying that mortals are little flames which may mean that are just “containers” for magic and that how are they viewed by this new threat. What we see from the beginning to the end is some kind of misty things moving to Cantha to steal the magic within people, that’s why they disappear. Because magic was taken from them. Like little flames dissipating. Be understandable for my interpretation :)

In terms of Primordus, I believe the phrase is 'First to rise, last to fall' or something like that? Parallel dragons seem to fall first. Zhaitan and Mordremoth were parallels as were Jormag and Kralkatorrik. I don't think Primordus can fall until the deep sea dragon does

I don't believe in an end of dragons actually, I think the message at the end of the trailer AND the logo show a circle. A circle of destruction and rebirth? also we see Kuunavang, the temple dragon of Factions in the trailer and she is clearly one of the dialogue-partners, so my first thought was, that it maybe was a dialogue between her and Aureen. Also the thought hit me, that Kuunavang may be a Champion of the Deepseadragon Bubbles, which could lead to a story like with Aureen and Kralk, maybe Kuunavang becomes the new Deepseadragon with her Domain in the Jadesea, a holy place due to the temple there, anyways. We'll see what happens, but I have the hope that this may be the greatest chapter yet!

What if the dragon on top actually IS Primordus? The logo is blue and if you just go by the color both dragons look like they're water themed but if you look at the way skin of the dragon on top looks like you'll notice it could very well be magma plates. Also, if you look at the fact he's coming from above (land) and the other one coming from below (underwater) and consider this is based on Yin and Yang, depicting two opposites... I am actually quite sure this is supposed to be Primordus and the underwater dragon. It just makes sense, despite the color.

In my personal opinion there are two possibilities regarding the identity of the second person in the dialogue: either aurene or bubbles. If its aurene it could hint that absorbing all that magic is starting to strain her psychologically (i mean up until now it all works pretty smoothly), maybe turning her kind of overprotective („they NEED me“ meaning „I can protect them all if everyone would just do as I tell them“ ;note the mortals = little flames that need protection). A slightly different interpretation would be that they discuss the idea of aurene giving up eternal life so she doesn‘t forget about the significance of mortal life („those who face eternity easily forget what a lifetime means, what an ending means“ - „you know it doesn‘t have to be this way“ - „no, it does. They need me.“) hinting that shes unwilling to give up her power to a potential future successor. Another interpretation (which I personally think is more unlikely) is that kuunavangs „It doesn‘t have to be this way“ is not referring to the „forgetfulness“ of the elder dragons but to the mortals being shortlived hot burning flames, indicating shes suggesting sharing the elder dragons excess power with the mortals, expanding their lifespan (or even turning them immortal), essentially turning them into kind of „demi-dragons“, in terms of power and lifespan (which would render the position of aurene more or less superfluous as the task of filtering and distributing magic is not bestowed upon one being but all). Bubbles as the dialoguepartner would be interesting as well. I‘m didn‘t play guild wars 1 so i‘m not super into the lore of it but could it be that kuunavang is a scion of bubbles? (Also that would mean that bubbles is the only female of the first generation elder dragons, as the voice is female in my opinion, but thats just a side note). As far as we know bubbles is not as expansionistic as the other elder dragons; ok she drove the krait out of the deep sea which lead to the krait terrorizing the coasts of tyria but come on...who likes the krait? Maybe she (i’m just referring to bubbles as she) noticed the psychological strain the unrestrained consumption of magic had on her brethren and she managed to control herself. Maybe she grew to like the mortals of cantha and started to protect them like aurene. In the game a long time has passed since we last heard news of cantha, it could be possible. Now with another benevolent dragon on the horizon she may starts to grow anxious of aurene trying to outdo her, as the old territorial elder dragon instinct shines through („They need ME.“). Which would make bubbles the overprotective one and kuunavang is suggesting to share the burden with aurene („it doesnt have to be this way“).

I also think it's basically bubbles and Kunavaang, however I belive "threat their live" is not refering to a elder-dragon siege, more like the threat "beneath" ... I think the real reason for the Jade-Sea itself is bubbles and bubbles is "IN" the jade sea. Canthas People build Lives on it... Kaineng and everything build ON the Jade sea is ON bubbles. ON the threat (dragon). Even though bubbles might not even be a threat, might be simply "threat" based on the Dragon-Type itself. Why I think that? I think the 2nd voice in the trailer is Bubbles, and She is "needed" since she was remembered what mortality is and Kunavaang tried to calm her, but failed.

If I enjoyed GW2, I would be excited. What Guild Wars 2 is, I cannot enjoy it no matter how I try to enjoy it. A lack of diversity with skills I can deal with. Taking out the need for teamwork ruined it. The level scaling is complete trash. Going back to the starting area to get the vistas and discoverables shouldn't be such a painful chore. A lvl 60 should NOT get killed by 2 lvl 6 bandits ever. And the jumping puzzles. Who the fuck though jumping puzzles were a good thing needs to be sterilized so they don't pollute humanity with their deficient genes. I don't have the ability to subject myself to this steaming pile of shit. It is boring and shallow. Removing quests for events is God awful.
