TESTIFY: GEORGE E. CLINTON is my musical spiritual advisor. P Funk is my measuring stick for everything great in music. The funk entered my life at just 12 y.o. in 1990 after listening to Bootsy's Rubber Band 2nd lp. DIGITAL UNDERGROUND (R.I.P Shock/Pac), DE LA, P.E., SNOOP, DRE, ABOVE THE LAW/KOKANE, ATCQ, ODB (r.i.p.), EPMD, REDMAN, ect. confirmed my belief that Funk can work in Hip-Hop. So not only am i a Hip-Hop head, I'm a FUNKATEER as well. George was/is a Godsend to my musical mentality. ETERNAL GRATITUDE TO THE SUPREME MAGGOT MINISTER OF FUNKADELIA!!! I love you, George.

Actually ...Boosty n Catfish had hit the road with James, but James Brown also let them go. They were just a extra stage hand w/Brown. Now when they got hooked up with The Atomic Dog, yes Boosty brought THE -1 for sure. Clinton knew it, him and Boosty hit off right out the gate. Boosty even started helping him write the best hit songs, BUT!!! Clinton also knew he had A STAR...and he wanted him to SHINE. So, yes in alot of ways they helped each other...BUT, the hook up with Clinton...WE discovered through him BOOTSY!! BUT Watch this, because of BOOSTY's hook up, we also discovered who George Clinton(Parliment-Funkadelic) was. This was a match for both had been looking for in their career in music.

I was born in 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The most successful Black music groups were The Temptations, Four Tops, Miracles, etc. I liked those groups but only had one problem; I am Black and most of the Black People I knew were NOT that clean-cut, non-controversial and appealing to White People. Then came George Clinton with Parliament/Funkadelic, The Brides and Bootsy!!!! Finally, I could relate to Black People defining themselves rather than trying to fit into the little white box that makes them happy. Afro puffs, big lips and noses, crazy outfits and even crazier lyrics, but I was finally freed from thinking like a slave and being able to think for myself. That is what George Clinton means to me and my overall survival; EVERYTHING. Thank you George Clinton from the bottom of my heart for giving me something to believe in more than any other person in this country we call America!! Thanks to James Brown also. Say what you want, he helped millions of Black People to free themselves and I am forever grateful to you both.....LEGEND. I can't even get on this man's level. He is truly a genius and should be accepted as such.

I think George has super Genes or something. He did coke, crack, lsd, weed and every other imaginable drug, he had a "rock star" lifestyle, he survived Prince, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Bernie, Eddie and many other legends of his genre, he just turned 80 and looks 60 and is still performing like hes 50. What a fucking Legend. I wish this Legend (not only in Funk but music overall) all the best and many many years to come. I love you George!!!

George, I am SO glad to hear you talk about weed's role in helping replace some other bad shyt that you were doing at the time. On EVERYTHING, I promise you, I found that out back in the 80's, after having gotten side-tracked on that same B.S., and, experiencing the difficulties of knowing that I was chasing a high that I couldn't physiologically achieve. I pondered back on how satisfying & enjoyable "getting high" had been, back when it was just marijuana, and wished that it could be that simple, innocent, ever again. And, how $50 weed would get me there a couple of times, whereas, this other stuff, $50 wasn't even a good night. It took a minute to re-acquire the taste for some good herbs, but, glory to God, it got the job done, and, like you were talking about, I can get a 10X more enjoyable high now. But, what I REALLY wanted to relate is how I believe that weed is actually the way to helping folks get off of a lot of these opioids & crap that they're increasingly being hooked on these days. I say that, because, I actually had employed that technique to help two friends, at different times, back in the 90's, to wean themselves off of crack. It wasn't planned, but, they were staying at my place, for a couple of weeks, trying to stay away from a certain environment. They also knew that I "used to" mess with it, so, I'm sure, they thought that I was secretly still doing it, on the low. But, staying with me, they saw how I was able to smoke, and, not be fiending for something else, and, by the time I would, eventually, have to put them out, they was smoking all my weed up, while I'd be gone to work. Although, once they returned to the bad influence, they also succumbed to chasing that high again, too, the impression I received, through having seen them weaned from being crack-heads back into something more resembling who I knew them to be, and, who they were happier being, is that God put this NATURAL "cure", for a lot of whatever may ail you, right here, grows wild, grows freely, but, misguided & malignant Government regulations are what's keeping a lot of folks addicted to life-destroying chemicals, when the possibility of returning to a more-productive, happier person is readily available.

Vor Monat

It's very gratifying to see the brother is feeling well, and, doing well....4ever funkin' on, baby! Seeing him/them was one of those unspoken bucket-list items that I grew up with, and, you can bet your ass, when I got the opportunity, I grabbed that shyt. Not the grand stage productions of the Mothership landing on-stage, but, it was George (with a lot of members/P-Funk All-Stars), and, where George goes, so goes P-Funk! The trade-off, of not having gotten high-as-hell, while watching the Landing of The Mothership, was that I got to be, like, within arms-length of The Living Legend (twice, Tulsa, OK, Cain's Ballroom)...and, was able to smoke, too, while enjoying!
