With two laps of a circuit featuring the legendary climb of Superga as well as the Colle della Madalena, Stage 14 of the Giro features some serious climbing before the finish in Torino. Will it be enough to draw the GC men to the fore?

Nibali and Pozzovivo still fighting like champions! What a stage! 😍
Vor year:p +1
"Fighting like champions"??🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ This isn't Boxing or MMA 🤣😄😆😆🤡🤡
Vor yearChristian Cerroni +22
@:p seems like you don't understand that the word "fighting" doesn't only apply to full-contact sports. To me cycling is the pure essence of fighting. Why do you even argue? 😂
Vor yearmariobahama +4
Nibali was the biggest surprise today, he was able to stay with Carapaz, Yates and Hindley. Three champions in the top 10, besides the ones you mentioned Christian, Mister Valverde is also doing well this Giro
Vor yearChristian Cerroni +1
@mariobahama Valverde is always impressive! Despite the little gap he gave to the others today, he did such a great stage!
Vor yearsharp flake +86
Carapaz took the maglia rosa on stage 14 of the 2019 Giro which was also the shortest road stage of that edition. He also took the lead by 7 seconds just like today.
Vor yearTony Papas +71
What a stage! Love the uncertainty, and seeing contenders actually have to struggle and fight on their own sometimes without a superteam around them.

Vor yearOliver Gojkovic +11
Definitely the best stage of this years Giro. Just imagine having Bardet in the mix today…
Vor yearPeter Pimmel +96
This Stage was better as the whole Tour from Last year! Its so nice to see how thrilling a grand Tour can be without Pogacar!
Vor yearSerebral Vortex +16
I agree no Pogacar just makes it better.
Vor yearJames H +4
the first week of the 2021 Tour de France was great aside from the crashes, but once roglic was dropped and pogacar took a 5 minute lead it got boring real quick, except for the breakaway stuff and mark cavendish.

This stage was great but this Giro has been dull as fuck. Awful parcours
Vor yearJames H +1
@Ed Coupé I think Blockhaus was good but there were a few stages that were really dull like Etna. To be honest I think its just typical Giro, all the favourites want to hold something back because of the brutal third week which means that final week is extremely exciting but its a bit of a bore beforehand.
Vor yearKen Kaniff +1
This was the stage most of us expected a good shakeup and it happened. Awesome ride for Yates🇬🇧 and no surprise to see Carapaz in the leaders jersey now! Now let's see what Ineos has at this Giro. This was carefully planned and well executed. They knew exactly when they wanted to take Maglia Rosa and now they KEEP it. That's the plan. Carapaz to top podium position from here on. GREAT DAY FOR GREAT BRITAIN🇬🇧🤘 Stage win by Yates and Ineos🇬🇧 made their move🤘 ABSOLUTELY GREAT DAY FOR GB🇬🇧 and myself🇬🇧🤘

Exciting last week ahead. The top three in GC all with the possibility of winning - really depends on their legs and the legs of their team support. On paper Carapaz should win.

Yates is very good at giving up a huge amount of time early, if he doesn't feel he has GC legs under him. Immediate switch to stage wins.
Vor yearPaul Stephens +2
I like his style, a real gladiator on the bike; they breed 'em tough op north!

@Paul Stephens eh up! Yes indeed. We do breed 'em tough up North!!🇬🇧🤘 That's our lad! Great ride from him

1. All stages should be a little shorter like this. 2. I want to ride that course. That road was laid out by a drunken mariner on shore leave. 3. Juan Lopez is the new Thomas Voeckler.
Vor yearIs it Rachel or J?
There are few Voeklers. In today's cycling, big $$$ determines almost everything. A big heart heart gets broken. Only a few countries would even value an "almost" guy. Here in America "if you're not first, you're last" brought us Mark Maguire, Marion Jones and Lance. We need more Voeklers and fewer Pogacars, Froomes and Contadors.
Vor yearRyan Shank
GREAT DAY FOR GREAT BRITAIN!!! YATES FOR THE STAGE WIN and INEOS IS NOW IN CONTROL OF THE RACE! The INEOS train will be in full effect this ENTIRE WEEK!! LET'S GO LADS!!!

Congrats to Yates for the victory !!! He's always dangerous and should be on the podium again !!!
Vor yearIrene Supica +1
Very exciting stage. We tried a new kind of analysis of the post-race interview. 17 "yahs" in Jai Hindley's interview. Seems like "yah" is the most common word in cycle-speak. Could be because the person interviewed is exhausted beyond belief! ;-)
Vor yearAdrian Clarke
Sorry, but did you really just say '3,000m of climbing packed into the SECOND TWO THIRDS !', wonderful, I must post it off to Private Eye ! Love the recaps, I watch every one (when I haven't seen the stage) and the GIRO is (for me) the best grand tour, please keep them coming.

thats the beauty of cycling..long career
Vor yearChris Pearson
Movistar is really going to suck in 2023 when Valverde retires. We'll see who they manage to lure over to fill his huge shoes, but who would want to join that shambolic team??
Vor yearKen Kaniff
@Chris Pearson hes a GREAT rider but he's just a stage winner for the last several years. It would blow the lid off of cycling if Valverde won a GT now at 42.

Almeida is going to be a strong teammate for Pogacar in the TDF. It will be interesting to see if he tries to be a GC contender of his own, though.
Vor yearJorge Fernandes +17
Almeida ain't going to the Tour...
Vor yearSucklambs Chop +2
I think Almeida will want to skip the TdF where he would definitely not be the leader and focus on the Vuelta, which he is yet to participate in. Perhaps we could see him and Pogacar together then.
Vor yearSing Chan
They will perform together in La Vuelta ciclista a España.
Vor yearChris van Buggenum +6
Yates just needed to self destruct and get the pressure off in order for him to perform.

Vor yearSam Searle +1
If Yates' knee injury was so devastatingly bad so that he loses 11 min in a single stage why is he still out there and not focusing on TdF? 'Chasing stage wins' is getting all too familiar for this team......
Vor yearNorman Hooper +1
Points are very important to keep Bike Exchange in the running, not to be relegated. A stage win as we have seen by Simon is tremendous for Points, Team moral, and inspires the Whole Team. A positive. Answer your question...the Team needs runs on the board/Miles in the Legs of there Rider's/Strategy and Performance is paramount to success in the TDF. Outsider's observation!
Vor yearSam Searle +1
@Norman Hooper understood. Just seems to be happening a lot. They head into these big races with GC aspirations and consistently underperform. Then focus on stages but without sprinters. They let a lot of guys go recently that hasn't helped.
Vor yearNorman Hooper
@Sam Searle...Esteban Chaves was and is a World class rider. See how Dylan Groenewegen goes this year in the TDF. The Roster of 29 rider's...they need some youth in there, that being said - the likes of the other stronger teams, know how to negotiate and entice the better rider to a higher profile Team.
Vor yearSam Searle
Chavez and the Yates twins always end up so isolated as soon as they hit the Alps.

And just like that! All the Bini viewers are GONE & no longer posting comments 🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️ So much for bringing a new fanbase to Cycling
Vor yearMats Rosenkranz +18
What is wrong with you man? Of course they cheer up their guys and if he isn't in the race what are they supposed to comment? Also if you watched the race you would've seen so many Eritrean fans with their flags on the road, just loving the sport. I really don't know what your intention is with that comment?!
Vor yearTak_Mau +7
In the Eritrean cafe next door to my house they still watch. :-). Great to have new fans coming in and taking interest in these races. And with tesfatsion, a second Eritrean is still in, isn't he?
Vor yearIs it Rachel or J? +2
I hope they are still watching. The "cycling fans" will be, the Bini "nationalists" won't. I sure am glad all those inane "#1" comments are done with.

CARAPAZ!!!!
Vor yearian carlton music
Wtf happened to carthy? Dude went from beating Carapaz and Roglic on Mortirolo to folding instantly today. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I’m still disappointed.
Vor yearian carlton music
Val O'Connell yeah, it’s been frustrating to be a fan of them this season. I know they all got sick early season after a few promising results in like February, but I’d have hoped for them to be coming back into it by now. Guerreiro and Powless had top tens in Flèche and LBL, so they’re clearly not doing too bad, but the team’s in the danger zone for relegation, they gotta start sealing the deal on some Ws soon.
Vor yearandrew7taylor
Val O'Connell Bettiol missed the second half of last year with ulcerative colitis. He couldn't do a single race after the Olympics. I'm guessing he's far from 100%. While he could start races, even finishing them has been a struggle for him at the highest level.
Vor yearTheMASDrummer
Donno but he's a walking skeleton so I assume his health caught up with him in some form
Vor yearian carlton music
@andrew7taylor really? he got 2nd at etoile de besseges at the beginning of this year, looked like he was going pretty well there
Vor yearian carlton music +1
@TheMASDrummer he's always been a walking skeleton including when he took 3rd at the vuelta, i assume he's just built like that you could be right though, i'm not his doctor

Bad rumors say...if you want to check the hell heat. . .visit Turin, l think riders will never forget this hell day, l start to feel sick for poor boys facing this agony, when cycling is becoming a ... deadly trap, could l dare to ask them..go slow? Vor yearKen Kaniff +1
Are you mad? There's no "spoiler"!! This was the day the real cycling fans EXPECTED a big GC shake-up so no surprise there.
Vor yearDavid Makinson
@Ken Kaniff Not mad. I just like as much surprise and suspense as possible.
Vor yearKen Kaniff
@David Makinson but there's no "spoiler" in the title tho. Anyone that knows enough about cycling knew this would be the first real shake-up in the GC battle. There just isn't any "spoiler" in the title.

The teams and race organizer are super cautious with people outside the "bubble" because if one rider result positive even with no symptoms they are out of the race and if even more people are positive the entire team could be thrown out.
Vor yearJames H +6
did you even see the start of the video? Bardet is sick and couple of others have been now, I am sure riders are more than willing to take that precaution so they don't have to quit like others have.
