Class of 2025 Eli Ellis (Moravian Prep) makes his presence felt early with his scoring and play making ability. The kid is as competitive as it gets and manages to stay extremely composed at a young age. He has a bright future ahead of him!

He has skills, but better than that is that he is part of a well coached team. Did anyone notice the perimeter and interior passing as well as the screens being done by teammates as well as the sharing of the ball for better shots. Individual skills are great for YouTube highlights like this video, but team skills are better and great for winning games.

For a freshman he is phenomenal. He's going to be a big time scorer. Wish he'd grow another couple inches.

@IS0Reels not bad. I'd love to see him get to 6'4 but I'm probably dreaming. Wish I could just fast forward and watch Eli's college career. His younger brother is a hard nose kid too.. He can shoot and gets after it on D but so far I dont see the penetration that Eli gets. Pretty cool family that we get to see as the dad seems like a good coach.

poor observation skills. In the clip he drives left at least twice. You meant to say he doesn't finish with his left hand. Work to be more precise.

@Ctob34 Fishing tips I’m limiting his potential? His dad is paying $30,000 a year to send him to a private pretend high school to play basketball with other “all stars” in the belief this will catapult him to the NBA. He has his own PR and marketing department that is working 24/7 to try and promote the kid because he isn’t going to make it to a D1 school without it. His dad has been his coach since he was 5 and gives him all the game time and makes sure he takes the majority of the shots over other kids, and he has a paid entourage that follows him around to tell him he’s wonderful. So I think me reminding him he’s slow, short, white and can’t jump is the least of his problems. The reality that these powderpuff rich kids seldom have the athleticism and DNA needed to play D1 basketball doesn’t register with those signing the checks to extend their dream is their biggest issue. If they would’ve put all that money away to pay for college and just had him play for his hometown high school team and attend a really good D2 school he would probably get lots of game time at that level and have a very happy and balanced life. Instead you have rich white A-holes raising another entitled A-hole and 99% of these kids end up living with their parents until they’re 30 and trying to make a living posting social media videos these days. I’m a humanitarian….. just trying to make society a better place to live.

@CAugusutusW why not let the kid grind and see where he can gets instead of trying to limit his potential? You keep saying get on the books and dont worry about basketball. Hes a freshman in highschool and still has a childhood. The guy was right before, youre just being a hater.

@Jim V. not likely ….. his dad is short and chubby. But if he does hit 6’4” I think he has a shot. His major downfall is just overall athleticism. He doesn’t have bad speed, but it’s not D1 speed …… not even close. Can he get quicker ? Sure but speed isn’t something you develop it’s something you’re born with. Reaction time can be improved and having good court presence (i.e. being where you need to be) can give the illusion of speed but they are very different things. And have you seen him elevate? Of course you haven’t. If you have the kid a trampoline I don’t think he could get more than 18” off the ground. His body is built like a little brick outhouse and not designed to get off the ground. These two things, lack of speed and the ability to jump will make it difficult to get off clean shots at the D2 level or high. High school where defenses are lazy and half the kids are under 6’0”? Sure you’re going to get flat footed set shot opportunities all day long and if you’re a decent shooter you’re gonna score 20+ points but what you won’t get is a D1 scholarship. Number 12 on his team only needs to put up 10 points a game and he’ll have D1 schools seriously looking at him. Why? Height and Athleticism (speed and jumping) because those are two things you can’t teach.

@CAugusutusW Yeah, maybe you’re right. He’s got three more years to grow and fill out though, no?
