Formula 1 Driver Wins Ranking 1950-2019

In the video, the team name is also listed under the individual name, but only the team that has won has been listed. The machine is also matched to the team's color as much as possible, but I'm sorry if there is a mistake. Please note that the machine is handmade by my own.
It includes the Indy 500 race, but at the time it seemed to have been recognized as an F1 race.
The fight between Alain Prost, Senna and Mansell is hot.
I think Michael Schumacher got stronger because of his rival Damon Hill. Recently, it is likely that Lewis Hamilton will work hard to break the Schumacher record.
The Ferrari team is strong as a team. The rest are Ford and McLaren.

    correction
Moss won 16 GPS not 15
1982/1983 Change Patrick Daniel to Patrick Daniel Tambay. In the next and subsequent videos

The picture of Jean-Pierre Alain Jabouille, who won the French GP in 1979 and 1981, was a mistake.

@BALRAJ2011 It's unfair to compare the 2 greatest geniuses in motorsport history mate but you can make a case for either. They both were born with an almost super Human reaction speed and ability to think more quickly and further ahead than any of their contemporaries but you can't compare them because they were driving vastly different cars. I always see the great divider as the ability to find traction when no one else can and in this regard both have been utterly unbeatable in wet conditions and both won race after race when their cars were not even competitive. If not for Williams' shoddy practices I have little doubt Ayrton would have won some of the titles and races Michael Schumacher went on to win. RIP Ayrton you bloody genius, missed but never forgotten.

@Sparks Fly you obviously made that comment just to have fun. There is no way, if you have more than 2 synapse, you think that. Fangio was the most wanted racer. He didn't always race "the best car", but he always make the best of those cars. One time he avoided a mass collision on a race, just by watching people reaction on the grades before taking the curve. Switching cars, with all the changes in power, center mass, torque, weight distribution, reaction, grip, etc, it plays against the driver, and Fangio maneged that and keep wining. He is still today considered the best of all time, both from press and other drivers.

No Hamilton is by every single metric the best driver that has ever competed in F1. Here are his stats against Schumacher Both Drivers have 7 championships but in all other metrics Hamilton is not just better he is miles in front Hamilton Starts 296 - Poles 103 (34.8%) Race wins 103 (34.8%) Podiums 183 (61.8%) Points 4,227.5 (14.28 pts p/r) Schumacher Starts - Poles 68 (22.2%) Race wins 91 (29.7%) Podiums 155 (50.7%) Points 1,566 (5.10 pts p/r) The last metric is interesting because although Schumacher had less races per season he had more races, had he been racing today he would have been lucky to make the final podium of the season as on average you would need over 8 points per race now. Schumacher was never as good as Senna or for that matter Prost or Lauda. He was lucky to have the best car in a period when other teams couldn't come close. Senna never had the best car but boy did he make the one underneath him move. If today you put all three in the same car I would still put money on Hamilton to win but he would have to fight hard against Senna and Lauda, fourth would be Prost followed by Prost. Fangio is an unknown. I have been watching F1 for almost 55 years my first race was Brands Hatch in 1965. The cars were nothing like they would become in a decade after that, they were open monocoques with very little styling or aerodynamics. In Fangio's time no two cars looked anything like each other by 1965 a general look had stated to emerge but still no real high tech. The following 15 years would see a transformation that was akin to that of Aeroplanes after WWII. So for that reason its impossible to say how Fangio would have done in a modern F1 car. However from 1975 onward it is possible to compare drivers which is why I included Lauda and Prost. Although Sir Lewis Hamilton is the greatest of all time, my two favourite drivers were Senna who had he lived may have challenged Hamilton and the bravest man ever to get into a race care Nikki Lauda. It is not a coincidence that Hamilton's hero was Senna and his inspiration was Lauda, no two greater roll models could any driver have.

Just look at Hill and Villeneuve clinching the title in '96 and '97. Hill was the same age as Senna. Senna would've been in that car. He would've easily passed Prost on the all-time win list

No matter what, Senna is still the greatest ever, look at the speed he could take corners in with wheel slip, while Lewis and Max immediately looses 0.8 sec or more from the tiniest slip. All theory say that one will not drive fast with wheel slip, even today self appointed experts say so and they refuse to explain Sennas driving style and dismisses it with "todays drivers are better", the ignorance is huge in them, they do not want to know, they only want to speak.

eh, in this chart, the amount of points don't mean squad, it's about race wins. doesn't matter if theyre 1 or 100 points. as for amount of races, that does have quite the influence when in the benefit of a dominant vehicle, it's easier to get more wins, but then again, at the same time, the opponent also has that amount of chance. Senna for me remains the best ever, especially concidering he was not only in battle with the mighty Prost, but also with the FIA. He was cut short in 1994, and had lots of left in him so his numbers should have been up far more when 'naturally' ending his F1 career. however, i'd consider that Senna would by no means have continued in F1 beyond the year 2000. that means he could have had 6 1/2 more F1 seasons. Taking in account 16 races per season, and senna's win percentage was about 25%, this would average 4 wins during each season means 25 more wins, so about 66 win totals. That arguably would also have taken a bunch of wins from Schumacher down. Schumi achieved a 30% win average, so let's say he gets 5 wins each season on average, let's say that Senna would take 1 or 2 away from that. meaning Schumacher would have 2 less wins each season during the half of 1994 and untill the end of the 2000 season. so, again 6 1/2 times 2 is about 13 less wins. Which would leave Schumacher with a grand total of about 78 race wins. So the stats in 2019 would thus have been 1) Hamilton 84 wins 2) Schumacher 78 wins 3) Senna 66 wins 4) Vettel 53 wins 5) Prost 51 wins 6) Alonso 32 wins if you'd take into account hamilton's 36% win percentage, and that on average there's about 4 more races in a single season (it's really not that much more actually) since between 2000 and 2020, then let's say that in the about 12 seasons Hamilton has driven between 2007 and 2019, that would mean hamilton would lose somewhere between 10 and let's say 13 wins. Vettel should also be 'levelled' out like that, so with a 19% win average that would mean he'd get about 6 to 8 less wins. all just to 'more or less' even the figures. Net result, end 2019, would be 1) Schumacher 78 wins 2) Hamilton 70 wins 3) Senna 66 wins 4) Prost 51 wins 5) Vettel 46 wins 6) Alonso 32 wins With the stats up to now however, this means Hamilton's 103 grand total of wins, compensated by amount of races like the stats above, would cut 6 more wins from the 2020 and 2021 season, which would mean he gets about 13 more total wins to the figure above, making him reach 83 win total. It would also mean that, obviously, Senna would have had more WDC's and Schumacher less WDC's, and perhaps Schumacher would have went on a bit more, but really, it's all speculation. Truth is Senna indeed died in 1994 and that impacted F1 to what it is now. But, for what it's worth, it's interesting to 'balance' the stats a bit and come to the inevitable conclusion that Hamilton really is the absolute GOAT right now. The dutch cheater fake championship means squad and he has now (thanks to the DNF of the competition, a dominant car) 26 race wins. If we were to 'balance' that out in amount of races, and his 14% win percentage, as of 2016, that's atleast 5 seasons to take into account, so let's say 3 to 4 less race wins to count. Meaning he has 22 races in total and put him on par with Hill.

Amazing - you can see the rivalries between Fangio, Farina, Ascari who just shattered everything. Then Fangio sets a record that Clark beats and Sewart manages to topple much later. Then Lauda appears but is uncontested. Prost takes the throne but not without first having to battle Piquet. Then Sir Nigel Mansell and a Brazilian phenom shoot through the rankings. You can see the pressure that Prost is under just looking at this chart and then, suddenly, there's no more movement. Schumacher begins his ascendancy only to have Damon Hill steal his cake. It's truly amazing to watch this. It captures the tension of F1 and the desire of these drivers to write history.

Awesome! I'd have loved to have seen the cars look a little different based on era, as Senna's car was very well known for not having a halo, but I know that's a lot of work. Still a great look back at the history of F1

Jimmy Clark won 1/3 of His F1 world Championship races. But in those days there were many F1 races that were not part of the WC, in which case his win rate was 50%+,, then there was Indianapolis, the Tasman series, Touring Cars etc. He won in everything, so streets ahead of all others.

With more races per season, careers going on longer and better safety now than ever before, the number of wins is going to increase. It now mostly comes down to being in the right team at the right time. Lewis moved to Mercedes at exactly the right time even tho I thought it was a mistake at the time. Recent seasons show that if your car isn't the best then even the top drivers will struggle. Lewis is the most recent example of this. Seb is another example from years back, leaving Red Bull was a dream move for him but the car was never good enough.

@Charles M Michael Jordan and Tom Brady are legends of sports where all the success depended of their own work. In F1 you can be a legend like Alonso but if you dont have a good enough car you wont be winning anything, Schumacher era was much less dominated, it had years between with competition something we never seen in Mercedes one (mercedes was just sandbagging and playing with ferrari in later years, Vettel mistakes didnt helped either). Mercedes ruined F1 because they got all the ruleset info 2 years earlier than any other team and they did illegal tests back in 2013 who solved one of the car flaws and the next year we knew the rest of the story (Ham and Nico even faked in social media about being in disneyworld when they were actually in illegal tests). 1 pilot racing in a race of 2 cars and most the time a teammate following orders and that means one pilot driving pretty much alone for years and winning championships with zero effort. That is a dead sport if you ask me. That way you can win 20 world titles but didnt worth anything, its like playing poker with a handicapped person and feeling proud about winning, sad.

Schumi's gamesmanship in media interviews paid off when Hill's manager lost him the Williams drive. To finish first, first you need a winning car! But Hill's loss was Jacques' gain.

If you're curious where the early wins from Americans came from, it was because the Indianapolis 500 counted as an official points-paying formula 1 (Grand Prix back then) even from 1950 - 1960. Troy Ruttman was technically the youngest ever F1 winner (at 22 y/o) until Fernando Alonso won his first ever race in 2003.

the conditions to drive were more difficult until the 1994' Imola Grand Prix, and more hard until 1955'Le Mans Grand Prix. The circuits were modified to add more security conditions. Lewis Hamilton is a big driver, but I don't know how he could drive against 2000'Shumi, 1991'Senna or 1554'Fangio. How the F1' fans would wish that Senna drives nowaday or still alive! I would love to see a list of wins as a percentage of pole positions taken. For Hamilton 103 wins and 103 poles = 1.00, Vettel is 53 wins and 57 poles = 0.93. But who would be the best? Can anyone beat Schumacher 91 wins and 68 poles = 1.34? This stat shows a drivers ability to win even when competitors cars are faster. Really curious who would be top of the chart with this stat.

Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna and imho Niki Lauda were the best "mid age" old school drivers... among so many other good drivers in those days where every little fault could be fatal. Schumacher was an extraordinary tough leader like Beckenbauer... technically, from experience, and mindwise ... He even drove Super bike Moto in 2008, and cart races again in 2011... And i am sure he was also a very good skier... just very, very unlucky... maybe also his superbike accidents in 2008 had to do with his final brain failure. I would wish for a wonder, that Michael could get back into this world again, after this shitty year 2020.
