One big thing this really sheds light on is how common it is for the news - now and throughout history - to report on deals (and laws) that are still in progress as if they're set in stone. The "will" in those headlines is doing a LOT of work, and I recommend that if you ever see a headline with any type of future tense at all, treat it with a healthy level of skepticism. Especially these days, where some future tense is written as past tense, like articles titled "How X became the new owners of Y" where "became" is referring to something that MAY happen in the near future.

One small critique that doesn't really affect the rest of the video but I really wanted to say is that though measuring naval strength by tonnage is definitely more accurate than measuring by sheer number of ships, it is still far from the best way of comparing relative strength. In particular, how efficiently the weight is used can wildly affect the ship's tonnage without changing how effective the ship can be in actual situations. Merely basing the strength of ships by their weight can lead to misleading results and can get really complicated with how many factors influence the rankings. All of this is irrelevant at the end of the day since (spoilers) it becomes a mute point later in the video, but also because MatPat stated that he just wanted to compare using a "more accurate" method, rather than the "most accurate".

Vor year
@Natshuri +9

Also, I looked at the nutrition facts of both Pepsi and Coca-Cola side by side once and the only thing different was that Coca-Cola had more sodium and Pepsi had more sugar. I like Pepsi more, its sweet, and doesn't burn my mouth like Coca-Cola making me feel like my throat and mouth is dry. Your worries (yes, anxiety), depression, suicidal thoughts, EVERYTHING will melt away and be NO MORE when you lean on God and put your trust in him! When I have physical pain, I literally pray and the Lord quells it, that I am healed! Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals! People are bothered by his name. The world hates the truth and wants to continue living sinfully! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous.

My mother is russian and was around when the ussr was a thing. Whenever soda was avaliable she would always insist on Pepsi over coke. Her and my german father would often have stupid little quarrels over which brand was better. I always thought that she just preferred the taste, but when I asked her about it she never had coke in Russia so she always asked for Pepsi. Very weird story but it definitely shows the impact Pepsi had in russia.

Vor 8 Monate
@cmd1095
@cmd1095

So conclusion of the video aside, I thought of another way to calculate Pepsi's naval size more generously. Include their cargo ships. The military vessels make their fleet a military fleet (kinda) but they were bound to own a bunch of ships for transporting product already. And the tunnage of those ships was probably quite high so you could use that method too. So doing that you could end up with Pepsi having the world's 6th largest "military" fleet. In theory anyway, I'm not about to crunch those numbers.

Vor year
@georgenikoletakis7647
@georgenikoletakis7647

Actually there's is another way you can exaggerate the size of pepsis navy and probably is why this myth exist. A 17 submarine fleet is massive and would be the 8th largest submarine fleet in the world in the modern day, so it's possible that 17 submarines would have been the 6th largest submarine fleet on earth in 1989 and someone writing "6th largest fleet" instead of "6th largest submarine fleet" is probably where this myth came from

How does that even make sense to them that the kid practically invested in coke in order to buy one single Pepsi can 😂 and he didn’t even drink the cokes so Pepsi had a loss of product for a gain of money while coke gained money and promotion without even providing the product for consumption😂
