Extended highlights of the Philadelphia Flyers at the Edmonton Oilers
We deserved to lose but I don’t care, we got the 2 points.
hart letting in too many soft goals
McDavid is an animal.
Looked like some weak goaltending for philly, but still gotta give kudos to edmonton for the offensive effectiveness. I am slightly concerned for their depth though... the vast majority of edmonton goals so far this season have involved McDavid or Draisaitl as either goal scorer or assist. I'm sure they're both going to have a great season, but it's gonna be hard winning a cup with one line that can score.
Really happy for Connor, Leon, and Nuge- seems like they finally have a hopeful team to work for. I like what I'm seeing from Neal too- that trade has to be the biggest steal I've ever seen
Not rly, he prone to chokin
NBC's puppet poosies do it again! Such a physical game tonight lady flyers!
Nuge's Wrist shot is straight up dirty! Both his goals were sweet lol
Flyers 49 shots, oilers 22. Flyers loose?
Draisaitl is one of the best passers I've ever seen, makes everything look like a video game
Great night to have McDavid in fantasy
flyers are trash, poor AV
i've gotta say the oilers are looking like a whole new team, even though they didn't change much over the offseason. I ain't complaining. Let's Go Oilers!
they changed a lot lol, from players to management.
They started the season with 13 new players lol that's over half a new team.
ice hockey is real sport U.S.A. spark - unlike the by mono illness enslaved U.S.A. politics
What I love about McDavid is that when he gets a 4-5 point night, it’s very subtle, it’s not as big as Neal netting 4, Matthews, Mantha, Zibanejad, all having big nights, it’s barely noticed and that right there is amazing. Just causally gets a 5 point night, the guy is amazing!
We should not have won. We got outshot by 30. But it's also a matter or conversion and goaltending. Oilers scored 6 on only 22 shots, Flyers scored 3 on 52.
Koskinen had very good game
I kind of feel bad for Draisaitl, man literally has 2 points less than McDavid (2nd in the leauge in points) and has much improved his defense, yet gets little recognition. I guess Messier and Malkin eventually got the praise they deserve so I'll have to wait.
Vmade I bet he lies awake at night thinking about it too.
@T H My point exactly, perhaps I should've specified that he isn't getting much recognition around the league, as he's getting lots from us Oilers fans!
Draisaitl has been the oilers best player so far this season while McDavid got his timing back. This was the most impactful game to date for McDavid.
He's only 24
I had no doubt Tippet could turn this around....that guy could spin hay into gold....great coach.
Yep here's the flyers I'm used to
Different season, same old team. Where are OUR scorers? Absolutely ridiculous!
McDonald's needs to throw a sponsorship deal McDavid's way, because that dude is going to have a McFlurry of points.
Is this you Gene Principe?? lol
I know the flyers werent even closd to come back because the score was too high but they are good in coming back in the 3rd period they almost came back against tampa last season
49 saves from mikko that’s awesome
it is incredible how much McDavid makes everyone around him better
the real test is the next ten games . hope they keep winning
Best way to react to the Blackhawks loss Great win at Rogers and no 97 flying Love the excitement sign - and loving the start ✅✅✅✅✅ Go Oilers
Thats alot of orange
I feel bad for Hart. He was awful wow
He's still the real deal in my opinion; he's only 21; I'm not putting pressure on him. I don't expect him to be an all-star. I put more pressure on the defense to help hm out because I swear to God all the goals in this game, mostly for Hart, were because of the defensive collapses.
If only the flyers took 52 more shots, it would've been a tie game
That is some funny stuff you have written right there!
Wow, Philly didn't start a fight because they were losing.....
Good win but we still allowed over 50 SOG
Honestly happy to see the oilers finally making it work. Really missed seeing McDavid in the playoffs
Koskinen HUGE. 49 saves wtf
Honestly most of them came from the perimeter non-dangerous outside shots he had clear view of and quickly cleared by Oilers D. Oilers didn't play a great game but they boxed the flyers out well keeping them outside and no net front presence. When they got close it was a scrum. D was there to clear rebounds. But Kosk made some good solid saves. Difference was Oilers shots mostly came from the slot. So they capitalized on their chances. Flyers out played and out paced the oilers much of the game, then the oilers had those brain farts in the last 3 min when they figured 6-1 it was over and gave the flyers a 6-3 power play.
Leon is on fire!!!! Greetz from your Hometown Cologne/Germany!!!
Feel good to be an Edmonton fan... for now
At least Voracek finally did something.
yeah he had a three point game didn't he
JVR zero points, Ghost zero points, Hayes one goal, Sanheim one assist. There are guys that need to step up
He does every season
17 points in 7 games wow
Jesus that was ugly
Oilers winning! Now we just need a Conservative victory on Oct. 21 and we’re back baby!
Alton If the Conservatives don’t win, our energy sector is finished. This election is crucial. Get out and vote blue!
go liberal buddy eh
MikeVernon Productions ehh
Oilers 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Draisaitl 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
As a kid that moved to St. Albert in 1979, at 9 years old, and grew up with the dynasty, I gotta' say this year is absolutely phenomenal so far. Go Oil!
Awesome game they need to show the stats at the end of the video... flames should have took lucic last season lol
damn the flyers suck
McDavid assist to Manning against the Flyers lol talk about irony
@Salty Barton i think he means given the history when manning injured mcdavid a few years ago when manning played for flyers. Now mcdavid set up manning for a goal against flyers.
ik lol ahahhahaha
@Salty Barton Manning was the Philadelphia defensemen who injured McDavid in his rookie season losing him the calder, and now hes on the Oilers playing with McDavid :P
Salty Barton Manning was the guy that caused McDavid to break his collar bone. Then PC trades for Manning now McDavid assisted on Manning’s goal.
That McDavid goal was the stuff of legend.
Not sure if youve ever heard this from a Canuck fan, but go Oil! Hope you guys make the playoffs, and hopefully, you'll play us.
EdMcStinko your not going to make the playoffs this year lol
EdMcStinko That could be something
See you there lol
Flyers fan here, but I gotta say, you Oilers fans are truly lucky. I could watch McDavid play all day. I haven't been this impressed by a player since Lemieux.
good luck, shitty management giving fat contracts to useless Lucic, Sekera, and Koskinen. Zero development for young players, they just throw away all potential of Puljujarvi.
@Damian Speyerer Didn't tank, just sucked. It's been a long decade i can tell you that.
Well when you tank for ten years you are bound to have a good team eventually...
The Shockmaster These people man😂
Conor mackdavid clapping is dominating this year.
Screw the haters this team is solid there firing on all cylinders. Fresh oil. Engines revving. Solid performance. Let’s go oilers.
lets hope the engine doesn't break down.
VHL Recruitment maybe I did exaggerate I was more referring to last year with the flames when he was the best player on the ice for them in the playoffs.
@Riley Raynard Wrong, he played in the playoffs for 3 games in 2011 and then for 16 in 2012, and didn't make it back until last season, where the Flames were eliminated in 5 games. So technically, he's had 5 games of playoff experience, and 1 playoff win in the last 7 seasons. So the word "lots" is definitely an exaggeration.
Ryan Scherbluk I’m loving this team!
oilers op this season damn
Oilers are on Fire!,, still to early to predict playoff run yet tho....
1st place in the league. #1 Powerplay and Penalty kill McDavid/.Draisaitl #1 and #2 in scoring. Neal #1 in goals In one summer with a competent GM and coach, the Oilers went from one of the worst teams in the NHL to one of the most well rounded top tier teams in the league "Wow, it's a nice team"
John Johnson you obviously haven’t been watching him evolve from personal challenges 4 years ago to being on the top line with probably 2 of the best 5 or 6 players in the league. He can skate well. He can shoot. He goes in the tough places and comes out on top. And oh ya he can punch with the best of them. Exactly what the Oilers need at this point in their development
@Tom Chamberlain exactly....me thinks fans are getting ahead of themselves
We'll see in April if they're a rounded team
@Henri Kirsi i agree, i didn't expect them to be that good this year. But basing it on the fact that it's year 1 with Holland and Tippet and where they're at rn, it's a big step because if the Oilers are going to win, it's going to be with Broberg and Bouchard a few years down the road. But they've gotten a head start, and they've had bad puck luck over the years too.
Edmonton Oilers 2020 Stanley Cup Champions. Don't @ me
They said that about Tampa last year.
