What a match. What a comeback from our 2021 champion 👏
Vor 3 MonateAamir Razak
@Paul Railton one player doesn’t make a tournament
Vor 2 MonateMinor Voices
@Paul Railton lol nope. Watch again and listen to those crowds, and that's exactly how every tennis fans sounds like right now, we're all excited with the AO. Novak had a choice and he chose not to be there.
Vor 3 Monatemaka3230
@M we don't care.
Vor 3 MonatePaul Railton
Pathetic non competition, no Novak. Will go down as history as a sham.
Vor 3 MonateShravan Madhavan
This is turning out to be one of the most competitive grand slams in history, considering how many five setters have we seen till now. Although the higher ranked players won, who is to say Gael or FAA or Shapovalov wouldn't have won their respective matches.
Vor 3 MonateVaisin
Indeed, and after watching the final. It's hard to argue that this wasn't one of the best slams in recent times. It looked unlikely since Djokovic did not participate, and a slam with him is always positive for positive, but this proves that there are still very good players for years to come.
Vor 3 Monatekimlovethailakorn09
@SJ Are you joking? Nadal didnt play Wimbledon and US Open last year, but he played AO and RG, HE LOST TO Tsitsipas and Djokovic respectively. Federer skipped AO and USO, he played RG AND wimbledon and he didnt win. Djokovic won AO, RG AND Wimbledon, bwcausrle he beat everyone he faced, simple as a paper, thanks.
Vor 3 MonateShravan Madhavan
@Leonardo Braynen We think there is a lot of difference among players in top 10 but there isn't. Lot of it is confidence. Gael can survive five setters because he is so physically fit and no one questions his talent. He is like Usain Bolt with a racquet. Finally he now wants it bad. Marriage and other things in life are like support structures that generally enable a person so those factors can be ignored. I am worried about his confidence though.. the press conference was a bit worrying and depressing, may be because it's just after the match.
Vor 3 MonateLeonardo Braynen
@Shravan Madhavan i hear u. But Gael knows its too late to get serious. He wasted PRIME GS yrs bein an entertainer. He got married. He settled down, matured. Thats nice. He wants to win now. Awesome. But tell me how will he do that with Jannick Sinner; Tsitsipas; Berretinni; Zverev; Rublev; Medvedev And lets not forget Rafa and Djokovic still contending for titles at their age. Yiu really think Monfils stands a chance to win his 1st GS in his late 30s?
Vor 3 MonateAleksandr Melikov
Unbelievable match. Very high level and worth a longer highlights time. Hats off to both men. Dani has more experience of big matches.
Vor 3 MonateGeneral Rock
This was a fantastic match!! Felix played the best I’ve seen him play and still lost. If Medvedev doesn’t win this tournament, I will be profoundly disconcerted.
Vor 3 MonateNik Mohammad Ashraf Bin Razali Al Malizia
@Peter Porker Esq. Destiny can never be destify, im just feeling my instict that day based on my logical reason because we believe Nadal wanted the triumph so much the throphy everything to he... Based on that talk i said god destiny had decided that, btw very² amazing² epic and unbelievalbe match though we wacthing this match with all my excited feeling and feel so blessed when the goat Nadal won the match
Vor 3 MonatePeter Porker Esq.
@Nik Mohammad Ashraf Bin Razali Al Malizia You called it!
Vor 3 MonateVoidwalker
He might lose if he’s to tired to beat Tsitsipas, who played super well against Sinner
Vor 3 MonateNik Mohammad Ashraf Bin Razali Al Malizia
Nadal will win in final it destiny
Vor 3 MonateLimitless$ky
Regardless of the outcome, FAA seems to have enjoyed this highly competitive match. As for Medvedev, his mentality is really at an unmatched level right now at this tournament 👏
Vor 3 MonateLimitless$ky
@jarto10 Hahaha you're right! Nadal's mentality is not comparable to any human being anyways 😝
Vor 2 Monatejarto10
It seems his mentality was matched in the end, by no other than another time Rafa Nadal
Vor 2 MonateLalafuzzy
@Eddie A You can’t be black and be named Eddie... I’m not South African but that name is still hella white 🤣
Vor 3 MonateLalafuzzy
@Eddie A I don’t think I’ve ever heard something so racist
Vor 3 MonateCarlos Andres Castro Medina
Such a heartbreaking loss for Felix but he will be even better after this, he fought wonderfully and he has a big shot at Wimbledon knowing how well he played last year
Vor 3 MonateRobinson Cruise
@Funky Doolittle u literally described why it isnt his fault lol
Vor 3 Monatestrong brain
Young top players like felix and shapo will take time to fix the mentality issue. They play too aggressively on the 5th set and make too many unforced errors under the pressure of winning.
Vor 3 Monatemensrea
Hopefully FAA and Shapovalov will take away the right lessons from this instead of the wrong ones. The wrong one would be to bemoan the lost opportunity. The right lesson is that champions always have that extra gear when backed into a corner, when it seems hopeless, they have the ability to dig deep into their reserves. Champions are immensely difficult to knock off and it’s as much about the mental toughness and magic than anything purely physical to reach the summit of your sport. Disappointed for the two young Canadians, but they’ve shown they both have all the physical tools to be world beaters. Now comes the hard part - they have to develop the heart and mind of a champion.
Vor 3 MonateWasher_b
Felix is getting better and better
Vor 3 MonateL G M
Felix! I know it's not the outcome you'd hoped for, but you did us proud🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 If they didn't know who you are, they certainly do now. I hope 2022 is an exceptional year for you, it has certainly started out for you that way🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Keep your tennis eye on this young man, he is not going away.
Vor 3 MonateMoorish Brooklyn
Fantastic battle. Auger-Aliassime is almost there within his game. Medvedev is a wonder.
Vor 3 MonateJared O'Connor
This whole AO is incredible. The quality of play, the matches, the excitement. It’s truly electrifying to watch
Vor 3 MonateJohn Swanson
The Canadian’s have arrived and shown that they can play at the highest level. Go Felix and Dennis!!!
Vor 3 MonateCanada4Life

Vor MonatCanada4Life
@Chief Scheider leyla and felix have the strongest mental in tennis
Vor MonatSue Rizvi
When partiality and favouring exists the young players are affected :(
Vor 3 MonateChief Scheider
Shapo will be lucky to ever win a major. Poor attitude and a crybaby.
Vor 3 MonateMin Song
Medvedev tracking down these shots reminds me of Nadal's younger days.
Vor 3 Monateinnosanto
After watching them against each other Nadal has better physical stamina. Medvedev lacks the body training.
Vor 3 MonateAbdo Jabboulieh
And now he's facing him in the Finals
Vor 3 MonateTeam Slayzz
Let's go Medvedev. Both players played amazing tennis. 👍
Vor 3 MonateGenesis
What a match, I honestly did not think Daniil had it in him for a comeback the way he was playing the first two sets. Felix was just playing out of his mind, probably the best I’d see him play. But Daniil had to dig deep and he somehow found a way even though it wasn’t pretty at times. But he got done! The serve and the double faults though were not his best friend, so hopefully he’ll cut down on that for his next match against Stef. As for Felix, wow! Did not expect him to play this good. He was phenomenal. The future is so bright for him, so hope he keeps working at it. Congrats to Daniil, you had me scared there! 😷

Daniil did what Novak would do in this situation. And simply outclassed FAA in the last set
Vor 3 MonateG. Scanlan
It was 4am in Mexico, Medvedev was 2 sets down, looked like he was struggling real bad, went to sleep. Goddamn do I regret it.
Vor 3 MonateEl Walker
Lol, you never go to sleep, NEVER!! Really tho, my fav. slam by far and the toughest to stay up for, especially as the field narrows. East Coast, USA

Vor 3 Monatefans2497
Just wow. This is actually a major step forward for FAA. He should be very pleased with himself and take this experience to push himself even further. Incredible performance and effort.
Vor 3 MonateBootyshake
yes but he let off the steam in the late 3rd and Medvedev was just great.
Vor 3 MonateGomez Addams
Good to see FAA maturing and gaining confidence. He has to develop a little more variety in his game but he and Sinner are huge talents.
Vor 3 MonateHarrison Murbi
FAA should be so proud of himself for this amazing performance. I think it is the best performance of his career. He is going places, this young man!
Vor 3 MonateRadim Tichý

Vor 3 MonateMattias
@Isak Karvonen I'm well aware. I'm just pointing out two players who I think have a tremendous amount of speed in their toolkit
Vor 3 MonateIsak Karvonen
@ТурбоТОП You are the clown here. Because its not even Monfils in this video. Its Felix Auger.
Vor 3 MonateIsak Karvonen
It's Felix not Monfils
Vor 3 MonateStephane McKeown

Vor 3 MonateFifer McGee
FAA played like a real warrior, keep your eye on this young man.
Vor 3 MonateTony Hayden
Love them both but.. Med is a step above the new class!
Vor 3 MonateCarys Parks
Medvedev is among he oldest in the top 10. People need to take into account development when making comparisons. Felix is the youngest person in the top 30 by far, and top 10, with the exception of Sinner. Let's revisit in about 1-2 years lol.
Vor 3 MonateJavier Cortez
Obvisouly he lacks the resume, but Medvedev is becoming one of the greatest hard court players tennis has ever seen. To be that fast and rangy at that height is such a distinct advantage on the hard courts; on top of that you add a world class first serve...he has a chance to be the most dominant hard court player on the tour for quite some time once the Golden Era finally concludes.

Vor 3 MonateEm4gdn1m
WHAT A MATCH. Felix is going to be gunning for that top 3 this year I think. Dude is super athletic and super powerful. Medvedev is just a wizard on hardcourt.
Vor 3 MonateEm4gdn1m
@Tyler Pedersen Yep... Medvedev is getting there in his mental game. It was an extraordinary match but he broke down today.
Vor 3 MonateTyler Pedersen
@Em4gdn1m I def agree about Rublev for sure. Yeah, I like Felix's personality as well.
Vor 3 MonateEm4gdn1m
Also, look how hard he pushed Medvedev (the clear favorite of the tournament and on Medvedev's best surface) in this match. This time last year Felix was hovering right around 20th. Idk. He just looks really good right now. Rublev I feel might be dropping. His game hasn't looked great in the last like 6 months or so.
Vor 3 MonateEm4gdn1m
And I just like Felix. He seems like a good dude, and I like watching him play, so it's also a bit of wishful thinking.
Vor 3 MonateEm4gdn1m
@Tyler Pedersen I mean, you're probably right, a year to go from 9 to 3 is asking way too much. All 8 people above him are no joke, and there are some guys below him (Shapovalov, Sinner, and Fritz come to mind) that will all be trying to make this their year to break into the top 5-8 as well. And who knows what happens with Federer this season (probably not going to be in the top 10 convo by year ends but who knows?)

Vor 3 MonatePradyumna Thayi
@21crus1 Exactly ... I felt both players levelled up during the match ... Its not at all easy to come back from 2 sets down irrespective of the opponent ...
Vor 3 MonateElvis Ac
@sandman1347 what he’s saying is that Medvedev has the experience to comeback from a deficit 🙄
Vor 3 Monatesandman1347
@Ruskey To call a match like this "another day at the office" is very disrespectful. Medvedev needed his best to win today and was on the ropes at one point. Have some respect.
Vor 3 Monate21crus1
I think what he meant was this was career defining for Medvedev's mentality going forward. He was always a great front runner but would have problems winning from coming behind in score. This match would give a huge boost to his belief.
Vor 3 MonateRuskey
This was not career defining for Medvdev whatsoever and more like another day at the office.

Vor 3 MonateVirginia Bandiera
The match of tournament at all. Despite Felix lost and Medvedev won, future is equally big for both players.
Vor 3 MonateTiago R
The best game of the tournament so far. It's a shame that FAA still doesn't have the maturity to maintain its level of play. The learning remains. Kudos to Medvedev who is already in another stage of mental evolution and knew how to deal with adversity. The Russian will grow from that in the tournament and as a player.
Vor 3 MonateRyan Speidel
Just remember that FAA is only 21. It will come with time.

Vor 3 MonateKeegan Thorpe
At least FAA knows he can compete at the elite level against the best. Hopefully he starts winning titles soon.
Vor 3 MonateLotus
I don't think confidence was ever the issue for FAA to me, it seems like he's just too used to standing far back and outlasting players (which works at juniors and challengers level) but against top ATP players that's not enough he needs to play aggressively with purpose otherwise the opponent will just dictate play
Vor 3 Monatebilishu aliss

Vor 3 MonateJeffrey Kaufmann
@MovieFan4Life I think that Greed is a major factor in players getting overtrained and hence getting injured. Tennis pays huge bucks now, especially with the endorsements. If players were smarter and stopped trying to get to balls they know they won't get to there would be less injuries.
Vor 3 MonateJeffrey Kaufmann
@MovieFan4Life Medvedev has played 76 more minutes than Tsitsipas. That's only an average of 15 minutes more per game. Tsitsipas is playing better than Medvedev that's why he has spent less time on the Court so it's not an excuse if he loses to Tsitsipas. Facing a huge server makes the game less physical when a guy is serving mostly aces or service Winners like Cressly or John Isner. I haven't observed more injuries in 2012-2022 vs 2001-2011.
Vor 3 MonateMovieFan4Life
Jeffrey. You’re missing my point. The total time on court and the heat and intensity of such time are what I’m talking about. Med has clearly had to put our way more exertion and energy to reach the semis than Tsitsipas has. In my opinion, this is a hugely relevant factor when trying to determine who has the best chances of winning the match. I’m not sure why you feel this isn’t so? I’m not psychic and obviously either man can win the match. At the point I personally favor Tsitsipas because he’s in top form and he’s much fresher. As for the physicality of tennis. Every commentator on te planet has confirmed that tennis is way more physical now and physically demanding than in years prior hence the increased fitness levels required and sadly the prevalence of significant injuries. Tsitsipas just had surgery, Thiem has all but disappeared and virtually all the top players have suffered from injuries. The rigors of the increased power of the racquets, the pace of serves, and toll of hard courts in particular is significant. These are all highly logical and factual points. You referenced tough matches Rafa played at the French, but all matches on clay are historically battles and a test of endurance and Nadal in particular has played lengthy battles on every surface such as vs Fed or joker on grass at Wimbledon or med and Thiem at the us open. As I said, let’s see who wins this semi, but for the millionth time here, I favor Tsitsipas for said reasons.
Vor 3 MonateJeffrey Kaufmann
@MovieFan4Life The game isn't more physical now. Ive been many Brutal French Open matches that Nadal barely won.
Vor 3 MonateJeffrey Kaufmann
@MovieFan4Life So if Nadal defeats Berretini in Straight Sets and the other S.F is 4+ hours long you're giving the edge to Nadal?
