Its sad that Thiem won it in an empty stadium. Like if the stands were packed the roof would have exploded. Thiem really was the guide for the younger players to break through, hate seeing him ranked 230 at the moment(2022) but he's getting back to his form.

@Sleepy Joe Oh so now Novak is too tired to win 🤣🤣 you guys are hilarious. At least when Federer lost the Wimbledon final he lost after five hours and five sets. Djokovic was dragged around the court by Medvedev and lost in under two hours 😂😂😂

@Sleepy Joe So after winning 20 grand slams, “Federer’s legacy is defined by 8-7 40-15”? This isn’t the same as Andy Roddick choking in Wimbledon 2009 or Guillermo Coria choking in French Open 2004. Roddick never won Wimbledon and Coria never won a grand slam. Federer won 8 Wimbledon titles and 20 grand slams.

@Vik Sinha well I do agree that numbers are quite important. However, the problem with numbers is that more important factors like the technical abilities of a player, his on court finesse and the context in which the numbers are achieved is completely irrelevant. I mean it goes for Djokovic too. As much of a huge Federer fan as I am I can’t help but be amazed by how Djokovic turned the 2019 Wimbledon final around. It’s insane. But as far as numbers are concerned it just counts as 1 grand slam title just like any other that he’s won. I mean the same problem exists in football too. Numbers wise, many attacking players today have achieved greater numbers to Ronaldo Nazario. But anybody who’s seen both Ronaldo back in those days couldn’t possibly agree to the fact that Luis Suarez is better than Ronaldo. It also completely removes the context in which Ronaldo played in a much tougher era against some of the best defenders of all time. Numbers can only tell part of the story. One has to witness greatness on the pitch and on the court to really understand the extent to which a player is capable of.

Vor Monat
Vik Sinha
Vik Sinha

@Romuald Phillip Well numbers are the most important thing when discussing who is a better tennis player, so that isn't what makes Djokovic fans so unbearable. It is the fact that they never hesitate to disrespect Federer and Nadal and out of the blue they make negative comments on Federer or Nadal videos.

Vor Monat

I have nothing but respect for Djokovic. But man his fans....a bunch of three year old crybabies who talk numbers and understand nothing about tennis. Poor Djokovic. He deserves better fans than those.

@Sleepy Joe let’s look at whom Nadal had to beat in USO finals. Anderson ? Wow, so difficult. Medvedev in his first ever slam final? Barely beat him in 5 and nearly choked a huge lead. Djokovic? Impressive for sure, but this is Djoker’s worst % slam in finals. At Wimbledon? 08 vs. fed def a classic, but barely won. Then Berdych? LOL. If the surface is fast at all, Nadal better pray the big 3-4 lose early. Otherwise, Nadal will lose in first or second round of Wimbledon, AO or USO consistently.

Vor Monat
Bryan Martin

@Sleepy Joe hahahahhhahahaahhahaha yeah let’s see Nadal win on a surface that’s even remotely fast. And no this year’s AO that discriminated against Djokovic, the healthiest man in the world, when vaccines are not effective at preventing infection or transmission, does not count. Plus AO was incredibly slow this year.

Federer is one of the few players ever who is a treat to watch at every stage of his development. Brash young Fed, perfect dominant 20s Fed, hyper aggressive, powerful and pressuring early 30s Fed, strategic allcourting mid 30s Fed, and Renaissance man, artist of all styles late 30s Fed, always been fascinating to see how he finds ways to stay on top!

@4 9 True. But let us be honest. No one expected Nadal to play this long at this level. Federer plays like Tennis is so simple. Nadal plays like it is very tough. Weak serve of Nadal, his high intense, his body type, everything is opposite to what people expected in a perfect Tennis Player. Even today Djokovic looks like he has many years in him. Nadal looks like this is his last tournament. Since the 4 to 5 years, I was never sure about Nadal winning any Grand Slam, including his favourite French Open. I always believed that Djokovic has the best chances to win every Slam. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Vor 2 Monate
4 9
4 9

@Waste Fellow I'm curious regarding Nadal, he's only 1 year older than Djokovic?

Vor 2 Monate
Waste Fellow
Waste Fellow

That's easy. Because he always believed that he could win more though he lost this time. Right from the beginning he was losing to players like Nadal and Federer. Being humble comes naturally to him for the reason that he was losing the greats. The same is not true for Rafa and Federer. Everytime they were losing a Slam, it looked like a new era was bagan. To take a loss was much difficult for them. Age was catching up with Roger. Every loss was casting a doubt over his career. And for Rafa, every defeat was like a proof for what his doubters were saying- No one expected Rafa to have a long career. No one actually believed that he could win more US Opens than Djokovic at this stage of their careers. Basically every time Federer and Nadal lost, it looked like it is the end of their careers. But that's not same for Djoker. When he lost to Medvedev last year in straight sets, at the age of 34, and missing it this year at the age of 35, people still believe that he could win few more US Opens.

No happiness, no rolling in the floor, not even arms in the air. Just "Oh, it's over? That was quick. Just a day in the office". @Abe Guy As if Djoko beat a peak Federer at Wimbledon. The 2014, 2015 and 2019 finals is a 33,34 and 38 year old Federer 😅. At that age, Djokovic is actually facing Berettini and Krygios in the finals to collect his wimbledon lol. Coincidentally no one talk about the 2012 Wimbledon were Fed mopped the floor with him when he was much younger. Sampras has 0 finals loses cause he never reach the finals again when he reached 30 of age. Facts!

It's pretty amazing to think that no one has defended their US Open title since Delpo beat Federer in 2009. Federer's 5 in a row is a record that will *never* be beaten

Agassi vs Sampras is an unrepeatable tennis era because of harder conditions on the court than in 21st century !!!! Their will for winning an Grand slam especially US Open was away higher !!!! I started watching tennis because of Agassi and Monika Seles !!!! P.S I like emotions of Andy Roddick here !!!! 💪❤️🇷🇸 🎾🎾🎾🎾
