When Joe said "Are you doing this Donald" & he gave a nod my heart sank. One of few OGs left. What a career. Best of luck to him with his next adventure.

@Brine Croker yes sir. At one point he was a top contender. He held the record for most finishes bonuses wins in WEC and UFC history.

@Mud Motors Max no sport even come close. Other sports are just kid fakes for adults. Mma is a way of life, hate seeing the legends go
Vor MonatShao Dynasty
My heart sank. People who don’t watch mma would say who cares? We watch these guys progress and give their ALL for years for our entertainment. It’s bittersweet. Like watching your child grow up and move out. I feel some of these fighters are as close as family to me despite never knowing them irl. The day max Holloway retires will devastate me.

Hats off to cowboy. He’s a vet who’s always gave his best and while he was never champion he always knew how to take a loss like a one and showed the heart of a champion, has had some stunning K.Os spectacle performances and his fair share of brawls. He’ll always be one of the peoples champions regardless of his short comings he’s always had the respect and love of the fans. We love you cowboy and I know MMA fans will follow you wherever u decide to go. So bittersweet.
Vor MonatJerry Riggs
Years ago, when I first saw Cowboy, I didn't like him because he reminded me of someone that I didn't like. I quickly got over that when I realized he was absolutely one of the nicest guys in MMA. He became one of my favorites. I am happy there is something for him after UFC/MMA.
Vor MonatLinky609
He was a champ before his UFC days at least, dude was/is one of the best.

It must be great to retire knowing you had a great career and that another great career awaits you. Sad to see for me as an MMA fan but I'm very happy for him.

@Commander tf u talking about lol. People age its reality he was falling off doesnt take away from the fact he has the second most wins in the ufc. Before this fight he had the most wins. And if u look at his record he lost against top notch guys.

It's sad to see him lose but now it's sadder to see him retire. Thanks for everything cowboy, you leave an impeccable and spectacular career that serves as an example to new generations. This man has made many love this sport, a legend and it will be amazing to see him at the HOF.
Vor MonatWing Chun
One fighter claimed that Cowboy used the N-word on him as what Cowboy saw as a light hearted joke. But the fighter didn't find it amusing. Cowboy said he's not racist and has black guys I think as part of his camp. There's other stuff too like one of his sponsors was linked to a Neo Nazi European organisation, but he didn't realise. Plus a radio interview I cant find now where the interviewers mention Nurmagomedov before his career really took off which sounded dodgy from the transcript I briefly read. Can't find details of that though.

I watched this live and it was just such a surreal moment. I started watching him at the highlight of his career and it's just crazy. This man has fought many battles and won many battles as well as lost many battles. But at the end of the day he has that true humbleness and sportsmanship about him that will make not only this post interview but him in general one of the most respected in UFC history. Donald Cerrone paid his dues and put in his work. He knows it's time for this journey to move on. Like he said he doesn't love the fight game nomore. His passion has faded from it and wants to do new things nothin but respect to that. God bless Donald Cerrone I enjoyed watching you in your UFC career. Take care brother🙏
