"my house is actually super small, under 150sf". I checked 150sf is around 139 sm, which is around double the size or a normal mid bugdet 3 bedroom house in the Uk. I wish my house was that small!

Just because your house may be smaller, doesn’t mean that my house isn’t small for my family. It’s such a relative term, and not at all a competition.

Checking back 10 mos later. How is the countertop holding up to wear and tear and scrubbing? I’m very tempted to do it! Also why chalk paint versus any other paint?

I didn’t really have a reason for using chalk paint besides that it seemed like the most budget friendly solution. It has definitely started to chip and stain. But this was never intended to be a long term solution. We plan to replace the countertops this Spring.

Chalk paint is just what I was familiar with at the time and I always intended for it to be a temporary solution, so I didn't want to spend the money on an epoxy kit knowing that the countertops would be replaced. They lasted about 4 months with absolutely not scratches or staining, but now a year later there are definitely some paint chips and stains.

That would be a little strange to have the right side of cabinets down. Plus, we need the storage. We don’t have a lot of cabinets to begin with

I have that same table! I got it for like $80 with the 6 matching chairs from a neighborhood being torn down near me. My dog ate the wooden seats off of the chairs so I ended up buying those SAME metal bistro style chairs from amazon so my dog wouldn’t eat them 😹 refinishing that top was a pain. I was told it was made of fruitwood and it required so much sanding, my arms were tired! Lol

How has the table held up? I think this is from Walmart, from their Better Homes brand, they have a natural top with white legs which I am thinking of sanding down the top and staining it with the same color as my dinning floor but I am soOO NERVOUS, you said you couldn't stain it but can I paint the top? And if so what kind of paint do you recommended

What size curtain rod did you use? I have tried 3 so far and they are too thick for the rings :(

Be careful sanding non wood projects. My friend tried to sand a mdmf board and ended up in the hospital to remove the glue like substance from his lungs. You did a great job!

I once put poly over chalkboard paint and it totally messed up my piece. ☹️I’m sure it was my error on application.

I think it depends on the type of paint you are using

They’ve held up great! Just a little bit of paint has chipped at the seams but that’s because our countertops were installed poorly so they aren’t flush together 💜

Hi, That is actually a large space. Compared to some. Our home is 700 sq feet. So half what you have. My Dad's 3 bedroom home is 1200 sq feet. 1500 is large to us. Enjoy making it yours !

It’s small for us. Most houses in our area are 2x+ the size of ours

Good job, but you should of removed the sink before painting, you will get better finishing.

You should consider removing the range hood and installing the microwave in its place, above your stove/range. We did this in our last house and it was pretty simple- frees up more counter space!

A few yrs ago, I redid everything in our living & dining room and did a lot of sanding & painting and got very sick & now if i forget to wear my mask & eye protection, my body let's me know real quick. Just didn't want anyone else to go through what i did. .. i really enjoyed the video, everything looked great!
