@Dappis If we are talking discography, I think Denzel is much closer then people want to admit. Denzel hasn't dropped an album that is sub par. If we're just talking about his music, and not overall cultural influence, I would actually put Denzel as a better rapper then Kanye. Kanye has an ear for beats and production, but as an actual rapper, he kinda falls behind guys like Denzel.

this is really just the old school Memphis sound with clearer quality like with the bass and samples. look up Gangsta Pat, Triple Six Mafia and the rest of the old school Memphis scene. they had the triplet flow and the 808s going back in the 90s. the sound just made a revival after it blew up in Atlanta over the past decade new school is drill and autotune, and then some dabbling with edm and rave type shit like dnb/dubstep. 808s been old school for the southern hip-hop scene, cause east and west coasts did the whole g-funk and boombap thing but the south been on this sound since the golden era of the 90s

His verses on songs like Massa feature some of his strongest rapping to date imo. His storytelling on Wilshire is more immersive than anything I’ve heard from him so far. He pulls insane features out of NBA Youngboy on Wusyaname (sung his ass off) and Wayne on Hot Wind Blows (one of the best Wayne features I’ve ever heard tbh). Sweet/I Thought You Wanted to Dance revisits that Igor style of him singing which I love personally. I honestly think it’s AotY material for 2021 but we’re all entitled to our opinions
