This guy turned a 28 minute long video into an 1 hour long video This guy has to actually be the best reaction streamer he adds so much of his own commentary.
Vor yearConor Hennell +24
@The Boulder yeah i would be terrible at streaming lol, no way ill be able to talk for 6 hours straight whilst it also still being entertaining. is alot harder than it looks to be a good streamer i think.
Vor yearGabriel Bryant +13
Kermit with an AK link your twitch account
Vor yearConor Hennell +8
Kermit with an AK depends on your job. You seen how many streamers there actually are that never get above 50 viewers because they have the charisma of a sponge? Hardly any streamers actually become successful. Talking for 6 hours straight every day and be entertaining is way harder than working on a till in a shop or being a delivery driver for example.
Vor yearMichal Sedlařìk +8
Kermit with an AK Anyone can become anything bro(ofc theoretically), but it is certainly not easy to become successful and even more so to become one of the top % in anything. So while i do agree to a deegre. It is not 100% correct

I played New world. It was actually great, I loved the world, the music and the atmosphere. BUT The bugs, the exploits, the cash shop and the systems within the game (mainly endgame) were unacceptable.
Vor yearMehrunes +10
Question, do they change/add something to the Cash shop? I only play the game for 3 months since release, but Cash shop not even included in my quit factor for me.
Vor yearDark Poisoneer +22
@Mehrunes the cash shop isn't bad and they give you free tokens if u have amazon prime every month, it is purely cosmetic and dosnt give you any single advantage that makes you stronger or even cut some content from the game so they can sell it on the shop, I played the game for months and it never bothered me and I never used it
Vor yearAfflictamine +5
sounds exactly how most people with a brain said how an Amazon MMO game would go, and it did LOL so obvious
Vor yearEdward Richard +5
I still have 0 clue how anyone who saw how the dungeon combat worked thought "wow this looks amazing" just zerg combat is the most boring kind there is.
Vor yearMehrunes +3
@Dark Poisoneer Oh, I thought they would add something more sinister, Just like you, I don't really care about Cash-shop that much, like it or not, they will always exist in MMO games. I only focusing on my own way of fun. Which not even covered by the cash shop anyway. If they does, not only how? and it will be most disgusting MMO ever in term of cash-shop. BUT, I will hate the cash shop in the game IF they keep popping up every single minutes and remind us that they sell stuff and advantages.

Face earth shield has 5% dirt reduction per stack. Stacking up to 20 times. At 20 stacks you get the 'desensitization' buff which reduces the effects of negative senses such as smell by 90%

20 stacks of earth shield also give a buff that repels "Mobs with bullshit Ai". Other players

The biggest reasons as to why we enjoyed New world was because it was something new and MMORPG players had craved something new for a long time (and we still do). It was new in terms of the action combat, the graphics, the sound design system and its overall look. It was immersive, exciting and very fun the first few weeks, until I guess people realized how lazy, copy and paste the game was developed, as well as how many problems it had at its core.
Vor yearJaime Ruiz
Wait until Riots MMORPG. Gonna take over I bet.

To me, even though the game has improved a lot since launch, there's still one big issue that hasn't been fixed and what I think would be a huge gamechanger. open world activities. more things to do in open world in general. I mean dynamic events, world bosses, more NPCs with sidequests (many more), and more unique places in the map. I think by doing this, the game would finally be on the level on other MMOs and being able to compete.
Vor yearDoragonL +2
YES. Few world bosses would make such a big difference.
Vor yearFrédéric Potvin +3
And... come on. Instantiated cross server expeditions? And Arenas? With a group finder? GW2 had that day 1. Why in the world would you want to split player base for dungeons and PvP instances...
Vor yearye1l
With their recent patches and upcoming patches, it seems to me like they're genuinely trying to make improvements. They're making good changes. I'm cautiously optimistic that New World will actually be quite a decent game eventually if they have the resources to keep this up.
Vor yearJan Joost Sijbesma +22
The gpu bricking was a flaw in the cards that only would have happened during either intensive cryptomining or a bug. Gpus have sensors on them that measure the temperature, in this case those were not near the spots that would get the hottest. So while the gpu was reporting nominal temperatures the card itself was essentially melting the solder. New world triggered this design flaw because the frame rate on the menu screen was uncapped. A stupid bug, that shouldn't have been in there. But i agree that it is hard to fault them for the bricking because those cards should have been able to handle that... even if they shouldn't have to.
Vor yearGozud +4
I've come back to this game ever since I found out the fast travel azoth is capped at 20 I spend literally the most of my time running across the world. Also the group finder for expeditions is a main reason why I came back to the game, before I couldn't progress with the story cause I had to do an expedition

I loved New world when it first came out. I gave me the same feel I had back when I was younger playing mmos. But the end game part of it got stale for me quick. The leveling felt rewarding to me, most of the zones felt good to be in and gave me a reason to want to explore, the dungeons were fun and could actually be challenging if you didn't have that great of a group. But I just got bored in the end :/
Vor yearwefwef ewfwefwef
exactly how i felt. leveling especially from 1-40 was amazing
Vor year4mused +19
I quit at level 35. Just got back into it for the 3v3 arenas and its night and day already. I started over with a new character, the changes to the storage system, the fast travel costs, the UI improvements and the quality of life changes like ammo not being required for ranged weapons really made the game a lot better. My new character is now level 50 so I can't speak as to the endgame but the leveling is MUCH better than it used to. I have hope. *Breathing in the Copium*
Vor yearJerobi +3
I’m glad you gave it another shot. Most people will not do this and continue to just talk negatively about their 30 levels from launch sadly.
Vor yearVwlss Nvwls +1
New World has a ton of great things going for it. I love the way you level weapons. I love the gathering and crafting. And the world feels massive, and interesting. The biggest problem I had was it feels like doing nothing over and over, just to do nothing over and over.
Vor yearEli Haun +1
It is like they assigned all of the mechanics to different designers/engineers/teams. Those mechanics were great on their own, but they never had a good director that could take those mechanisms and designs and mesh them together in a fun, engaging way. All of the pieces of a puzzle need to fit together. Instead, all of the pieces, as well done as they were, ended up being from different puzzles

Vor yearReally_Dazed +21
What killed my momentum in New World was how often the economy broke. Dozens of hours collecting ingredients for crafting and selling and it kept amounting to nothing.
Vor yearBeni +1
One huge problem that killed it for me and a bunch of others on my server who stuck it out for months is that for the first 6-7 months AGS focused the endgame towards pvp, and the pve content was really just to increase your pvp gear. But when they added the 600+ dungeons, endgame pve was no longer able to directly affect pvp, and we ended up having to toss our long developed and tested builds in lieu of gear solely focused towards pve progression. It got to a point where skills and tailored gear no longer mattered and only the GS was important
Vor yearHevon Star
I liked the game too, has some of the best movement in any game out. I'd add a real sprint, and thats all I felt it needed as mechanics thus far, but you have played a bit more. I just picked it up again and been enjoying it. Got a new respect for it after I got away from it.
Vor yearIldirim Nize +2
I actually like a dangerous world. However, I think there are ways you can do it, that makes it "not" annoying. I feel like early wow did good with that, and I think Skyrim did a good job with it. A lot of dangerous worlds are dangerous just by having really high level monsters near roads. To me it's other things, but I am more of a WoW style fan. Thirst mattering, maps being hard to come by maybe. High cost for easy traveling, or make it a PC thing ((Like old wow with portals before you could easy of life never need a mage. When you had like 3 hearth stones all over the place, and gates for any class just about. I feel like New World did good with a hard world at first, but then you get into Brightwood and it becomes a little more rough, but managable. Then the swamp to the right of it, and it sucked ass. More over, as Asmongold said, ya, I couldn't bother to level more fighting the same shit over and over, and top that off with them patching shyt that wasn't broke.
Vor yearardechey +12
I loved the skilling, pvp, and even some of the expeditions were good. Reminds me of RuneScape in a different direction. The bugs and lack of unique mobs is what ruined it for me. I also didn’t like they way item level worked, felt like it lacked the ‘rare drop’ feeling and it was just grinding out better level items aka more levelling
Vor yearRoz

I was level 45 or so when I quit. I got so fucking bored killing the same copy/pasted enemies over and over, the questing was literally about as much fun as crawling naked through a tunnel made of cheese graters. I actually really enjoyed the PvP. But I couldn't be bothered to level :/ then I got to 45 and saw the multitude of bugs and I quit out because I didn't like the idea of putting myself through lvling to 60 just to experience a buggy mess.
Vor yearPoochMG +4
Same. I managed to get to 60 but the gear grind after that made the level grind look diverse af. Instead of killing the same copy paste minions over and over again you just killed the same world boss over and over again until you boosted your gear rating enough to get a max level whatever you were after. The PVP was awesome til everybody started exploiting everything. Game fell off quick.
Vor yearBlinded Bylight +1

I'm 1200ish hours into New World on mainly one character, pretty much just myself working on trade skills and another buddy fetching resources to help me max out all my trades. I just found it really relaxing to be able to relax doing crafting/gathering while still making enough progress to eventually get to 60 so that I can still run the odd expedition with friends here and there. I've got loads of quests left to do. I've been tolerating the grind for a while, occasionally taking breaks to hop on other releases in the meantime. New World has one hell of a foundation to build upon, and seems like they aren't ignoring feedback so far. I'd say for anyone who lost interest part way through leveling to 60, put this one to the side and let it grow. Headlines talking about how the game is dead or dying kind of dissuades potential players from giving it a go. My biggest gripes are the copy/paste of enemy character models and similarity of many settlements. I think some quests should have had longer chains that force you into the next zone to complete them, granted while I mainly leveled off crafting, im getting the feeling that eventually even if all you did was quest, you'd wind up doing random things everywhere. I'm also running into a lot of quests where either the mob isn't spawning, or the marker is wrong, even after multiple patches the same issue persists.... Hopefully over time as we get more regions, maybe even a complete overhaul, we'll end up with the MMO we all want... or think... or cant... become a reality. You can't please everyone.
Vor yearThor Beerson +1
On the hitscan, playing musket it's a massive difference, played on launch and got dragged back kicking recently, I couldn't hit anything because I always account for projectile travel not knowing it switched to hitscan, and having projectile travel just feels soo much better in new world's setting since the strongest aspect of the game is immersion Also solo chest runs were the most fun I used to have in endgame, if they kept those I might've been still occasionally playing And they absolutely fail at server merging, multiple servers with around 100 peak players for weeks while they say they constantly watch for servers needing merge and merge at the soonest thursday (at least I think it was thursday)

As a Sr Software Engineer, I can tell you companies can't "buy their way" to quality talent. The industry is severely understaffed & most engineers are already highly paid and aren't even considering switching companies. Quality engineers do not look for jobs, they are primarily poached by recruiters, and if a good game developer is already working and invested in another project with another company, they are unlikely to jump ship to join AGS, regardless of more money waved in their face, as these game devs are very passionate about seeing their project to completion, already make plenty of money to be happy. It's not just the game industry either, this is a software development problem as a whole. This is why Intrepid Studios (Ashes of Creation) continues to promote their Development Updates as "hiring opportunities" to entice quality game devs to join them on their project. You have to sell the idea of your project to the engineers in order for them to join you. Most recruiter messages come with a generic line about "joining a growing team working on an unannounced upcoming project" which is unlikely to even yield a response.
Vor yearMother Pigeon +4
Actually from personal experience the "passion" aspect is just platitude used to feel better. We are working for money, simple as.
Vor yearBananenbauer123 +2
@Mother Pigeon If you look at the new Frost Giant Studios game reveal that's clearly not true. Those people, regardless of being short on money, are boldly trying to revitalize the rts genre. There are a lot of starcraft II devs from old times on that team and it's obvious that all these devs want to do is make a new good rts that can stand the test of time - because the rts genre has been kinda dead for a long time.
Vor yearLeonard Ceres +3
@Mother Pigeon yeah that’s some BS bro. Good attempt to try and hijack the original commenters thunder though. After a certain point you don’t let money tempt you unless it’s much more money than you will realistically make. Being a game designer isn’t going to make you a billionaire. Probably not even a millionaire unless you invested wisely.
Vor yearMichael +3
Also the game industry as a whole is part of the it industry not that many people want to work at. In most companies yoi suffer, bad work conditions and terrible deadlines (nothing special by itself) but also mostly incredibly low wages as well
Vor yearMother Pigeon +2
@Bananenbauer123 Yeah yeah, you certainly work opportunities and for passion xD Maybe if you don't have family and responsibilities then yeah you can jump around but someday you will need to focus on your future. That's why I personally swapped to cybersecurity for money and I don't use funny platitudes to make myself better.
Vor yearZargisan +1
I think an expansion like patch (new zones, add more dungeons, add raids, new PvP modes/battlegrounds, solo friendly content etc) will bring back new players. Couple this with going free to play for the content that was available prior to this patch. That will bring new players in and old players back IMO. Game is actually pretty good and has only gotten better over the last few months. Here’s to copium for my favorite game.
Vor yearFrixon +1
I loved and still enjoy playing New World. I don't play as much as I used to, but come back to it at least once a week or so. I took my time and finally hit level 60 and I've had a lot of fun with the gypsum and such. I can tell what Asmongold means that if New World launched with that patch it'd have had a better retention rate. I may not have the same hours or play extensively, but I keep coming back to it and enjoying it as more of a casual game. I hope the devs keep working on the game and it does pull a No Man's Sky, or an ESO or even a Realm Reborn if they have to. I love the setting and the life skills are the best in an MMO I've ever played, being a huge fan of Survival games. It needs more time but I think New World could reach a fairly good community even if it doesn't get to even 50k daily players.

I was playing like 50 hours of New World a week while working 60 hour weeks. I loved this game. The games gameplay loop is so simple and cozy but there is too many unignorable flaws. The devs not rolling back servers after the duping basically killed the desire for anyone who was playing casually. The fact that issues pointed out in the closed beta were never addressed. The fact that the game launched in an unfinished state. If patch 1.0 was the gypsum patch I honestly thing the game would have about 100k players. The game also just straight up lacked content to do. There was no down side to running the same 50 man War team so it lead to player burn out and resentment of players not as good or hardcore because they never got to partake. Then server lag, game breaking bugs and unbalanced pvp with Ice Gauntlet and Void Gauntlet. I could go on and on but I think if Amazon doesnt abandon this game and they keep developing content it should become successful in the future. All of these things are what drained me from New World. I really really hope they are able to do a major content patch, maybe a barber, bunch of pve grinds, maybe even 2 new weapons. I am excited to see how the arenas are though. Thanks for reading my tedtalk
Vor yearSirGrimly +39
I still chuckle whenever I remember the story of how Yoshi-P made the dev team of FF14 play WoW has homework when he was placed on the team... I don't think anyone was expecting that to happen when they received news that they were getting a new game director, but it definitely helped them make ARR work as well as it did XD
Vor yearRiposte8 +1
If you read some interviews coming out of FFXI 20 Anniversary, it seems clear those devs did play other MMOs. FFXIV launch issues ultimately come from a disastrous development due to a horrible engine (the same one which derailed XV) and a lot of stupid features come from coping with that due to no content.
Vor yearPhantom +1
It seems stupid to have a development team working on MMO while none(or almost none) of them actually plays an MMO. I mean, yeah, if they never worked on an MMO, there is no problem, they still have a certain experience in game development but to have people that are unfamiliar with the genre is a recipe for disaster
Vor yearDIERSTEIN Julien
@Riposte8 yeah honestly, FFXIV 1.0 felt like they thought "let's make FFXI again, but prettier", without taking into account the evolution of the genre at all.
Vor yearGarrett Rast +12
Asmon, the difference between WoW and New World not having experienced devs is that WoW was bred from passion and New World was not. I can't speak about WoW nowadays but at its inception It was inarguably created by people cared deeply about the project. New World feels absolutely soulless.
Vor yearKyle Olson
Also New World was developed remotely and not centered in a studio
Vor yearDan Dan
New world was the first mmorpg video game I played. What I loved about it was gathering materials, crafting and then selling them to other players. I only wanted to go to dungeons and level up for that reason. So far I've played mobile mmorpgs and just recently got Elden Ring and Star Citizen. Still lost in SC world so not sure if they have that system yet. But not really enjoying Elder Ring as much as others, weirdly, playing New World was a lot more fan for having that the market.

It's kind of adorable how Asmon insists the game still has a heartbeat because after shedding over 90% of the player base, the shedding finally stopped lol. I also don't get the bit about the devs deserving credit for not just abandoning the game, because... that's not their decision to make. They'll work on New World as long as the people above them want them to work on New World. The game's monster numbers at launch probably convinced AGS it was worth trying to see if they could rebound, but I bet if this summer content expansion doesn't see a large and sustained increase in players that's going to be the the end of trying to salvage the game.

42:27 it was the graphics cards problem, it was several of them due I believe to them using fewer chips (I forget what they did specifically) on the back of the card under the silicon, there are 6 spots, they only populated 2 to save a penny, which under normal circumstances, wouldn't be a problem, but new world pushed the game to its limit in menus by running them with no cap. the cards were on borrowed time yes, but new world put the final nail in them, at if I remember the point where 3060's were selling for 1000+$

If the game released NOW with the Arena update I strongly believe it would've kept close to 50% of the peak, even more if/when Arenas get a rated mode so people can properly compete. The PvE experience is slowly improving, they're adding more dungeons and I believe the new desert zone before the end of this year. It will continue to slowly improve, and could very easily have a resurgence with a big expansion if they do one. Also I googled "Musket bullet speed" and it says roughly 450-540 meters a second, which is definitely "hitscan" to the naked eye.

Arenas will pair you up with 2 healers and one melee, either that or 4 out of 6 players using the bow. I can’t be in the open now because I’ll get shot to death by arrows and bullets. Personally I don’t want to be in PVP if half the players are just ranged, killing you before you can even get close to them.
Vor yearRusken
@Gerbo Yes there's a lot of bow users because the bow is really good if you can aim, and playing full melee in world PvP is almost always a bad idea for the simple reason that you often can't close gaps easily without support. Something I like to do for melee is run Spear/Hatchet or Spear/Gaxe using the Spear purely for CCing people as they run away. Javelin, Sweep and Vault Kick are insane to combo with a thick Gaxe.

New World is a great experience for going off and getting lost in the world of the game. If you take it too serious, then I could see it not being that great. The PvE is a lil rough, and I never got into the PvP (not my tea). I loved collecting mats, and just chillin.

Any game developer who can not get "security" in place to prevent cheating is set to fail in a "big MMO" game. And they even failed to rectify the cheats. How many people were duplicating shit like ultra rare resources to make high end craft gear was crazy and I still bewildered how the system was not hardened against such things which were known at least since the alpha.

It sounds very exciting to be apart of building out a big beautiful map, with every detail considered. To create this incredible place 100,000s of people will explore. But it may have been a better idea to create a base map, with base assets, and rules, and have the world auto generated, along with a force wipe periodically and proportional.
Vor yearScudy +1
the problem with new world, in my opinion, was that it was designed to be a successful software release, not a fun game. They tried a bunch of completely different approaches to the game, listened to feedback if people like that type of game, and if they said no they changed it. They never had someone at the top with a real vision, as asmon also says in this video, nobody had an idea of what they wanted the game to be like.
Vor yeardio brando
a MAJOR point that has not been brought up is gold dupes that to me and many others completely killed the game and the economy as it felt like it was not fair to grind for things while others managed to get their hands of hundreds of thousands of gold for free. I quit at level 40 and I feel like I would've still played even if the quests were boring and repeating if it was not for the fact that I felt like It simply wasn't fair anymore.
Vor yearWilsonite 00 +4
I made it to lvl 40 or so the thing that killed it for me was I joined the world my friends where in two weeks after the game launched because the population was full. The problem is that by the time I got in everyone on the server was levels ahead of me so every time I got on other than the main hub towns the other towns you go to on the quest line where completely empty other than a few people that fell behind in level or my friends that came and helped me level. So in the end if you didn’t level as fast as the super try hard group or join the server late you where absolutely screwed to a land of solitude. Also just remembered this there are missions that you have to play with others and missions that are really really hard without other people which the last one is the thing that finally got me to quit
Vor yearSherrif
I think the important thing is not that any of the individual devs were "bad" choices, but more the lack of SOMEBODY with experience. That's the thing about New World, there's a LOT of good there, but because they are basically reinventing the wheel instead of hiring at least one wheelwright to teach them how to do it, and there's a lot of systems where this is apparent, not just the general MMO experience, things like the auction house could have probably used an economist... a hire they probably also skipped. Much like how the way the heal staff (and stat) functions it kind of punishes support players, almost like their systems designer had no experience with making systems, nor did they seem to have a single support player on staff to point out how the game actively forces support players to have less fun.

I only made it to like level 43 in New World and then it got too repetitive. I think what really killed it for me was the multiple stashes and cost for transferring your gear. As soon as I got to the new town and had to redo all my stash system was the final nail in the coffin. And the gold cost for switching your spec.? I thought they would patch that out early on, but nope. Why would you have to pay gold to switch to a weapon that you've already trained? I think the Azoth costs were also pretty bad. Also, my server went from 500+ to less than 200 because everyone transferred out during Thanksgiving. I also would find the giant Turkey for the event, while leveling and let my guild know, and then after we would kill it, I received absolutely nothing for it because I was too low level, Lol I wrote lots of feedback in and out of the game but they never seemed to take notice of it. Anyways, I'm playing Lost Ark now and really enjoying it.
Vor yearThe1rust
It sucks how many MMO games just totally forget about the middle experience. Age of Conan, as an example, had an amazing 1 - 20 early game until you left Tortage which then dropped you in to a barren game that didn't even have enough quests to out level zones so you just did mob grinds.

Problem with MS2 was the costs they were using on devs to make/develop a different version of MS2 KR which is P2W over there but wasn't P2W in western, wasn't worth the dev costs. I had almost 300 hrs for a $40 game, so it was good value for the money. My friends and I quit after our server pop during prime time was 88 people with bots, the healing nerf, armor nerf and crafting nerf with no server merges in sight. I was a gatherer/crafter on a server where one faction ruled the entire map. Hours of gathering mats you couldn't sell, couldn't store and couldn't craft with, destroyed this game. You can't make gold without an economy and you can't have an economy when there's no players. They've made some changes since but at this point they couldn't entice me back to the game even if they paid me. Want to talk about no vision? Let's put in a summer event and play guitar hero instead of fixing crafting or any of the other problems. No thanks!

I was fine with the leveling system, it was grindy but was fun. I left at 60 due to lack of content. having to grind millions of ingot just to get a couple levels in crafting or signing up for that corruption even just to not be able to enter (setting up alarms or getting ready and drop everything your doing to just get a rejection in the end...) just started to get too annoying and found out that I wasn't really doing anything but grinding mats. in all, no end game content in the game for a majority of players and only available to selected few (elites).

The middle game slog is exactly when I dropped off. Got to like 27 and was pretty bored of doing the same job-board missions over and over again. Im right with Asmon. The first week of launch I was in all chat telling everyone that "Being forced to walk back and forth to collect wood is going to kill this game, especially if Azoth is going to cost an arm and a leg if you're in the wrong faction. We need mounts, cheaper azoth or some kind of global running speed buff while out of combat." All the no lifers and hardcore survivalist andys shot me down, called me casual and echoed one another about the TRUE MMO experience. And would you look at them now, strapped to a hospital bed being constantly injected with 30CCs of high grade Copium. Then to rub salt in the wound, AGS not only reduced the fast travel cost on Azoth, they added a 10% speed boost when traveling on roads, like I said they should've, 3 days into the game. I still think mounts with a 30% speed boost would've been 100x better and helped retain a lot more players though. But the hardcore pvp andys whined and cried about how mounts would ruin pvp, even though every MMO with open world pvp and mounts found a way to make it work. Like being dismounted if you take any damage, or being slowed to a crawl upon taking player damage. But nope, no one could see past there being "NO BEASTS OF BURDEN IN THE LORE!".

Not only that though, the politics in teh game was jacked. Like I could never participate in guild related content to defend stuff. It always went to top donors, or friends. BS concept really. On paper it sounds cool. But in practice, you can never trust the player base to make good faith decisions.

One of the biggest issues was the developers would patch the game to make things that were fun less fun, or no fun. They focused their efforts on literally killing the game instead of focusing on fixes and updates that would retain players or draw more into the game.

The biggest issue is that pvp based games are not destined for failure but they have the deck stacked incredibly high against them. Case in point: Warhammer Online, based on the fantasy warhammer universe and very pvp oriented, was an awesome experience with some great pve quests and systems but “the endgame” was based on pvp raiding of opposing factions home cities. The problem was twofold. One you’d have servers dominated by one faction. Two LAAAAAG. Honestly the lag killed it more than anything. I could have dealt with being an underdog and fighting up from the bottom but that’s really not something you can do in a game where giant pvp battles, the endgame, featuring THE ENTIRE SERVER, are unplayable. It was awesome though. How many mmos have an endgame that involves EVERY SINGLE PLAYER whether they want to or not. Still these are where non-hardcore pvp mmos fall apart.
Vor yearCanineH2O
It sucks the player count is so low even though I don’t play, I was going strong with a group early on but quickly people were dropping like flies. 30:55 this reminded me of my first job, so there is the NGO on my city that provides pretty much teenage labor education and jobs for teens about to get to adulthood in governmental institutions with office spaces, and on the job I got, by month 2 of a 2 year contract I realized the guy responsible for my sector was just a someone who didn't knew nothing, the only thing that he would do was expect documents to show up in his desk magically, and try to awe the teens on that sector about how "great" of a boss he was, although we were young we weren't THAT impressionable, and when I realized, I was treating the old lady, who worked on that sector since the 80's and knew EVERYTHING there was to know about our functions and our responsibilities like she was my REAL boss, and I feel like that since today, after years out of that place. (Besides she was just a nice lady, and sometimes even bring home made pies and other things for the sector people, they were delicious btw) What I think I am trying to get at is, if your leadership is lacking, there will be dissatisfaction, and your workers will either try and rely in other people, or even just straight up not do their work right.

Companies almost always go cheap mode with AI devs. Which, one of my favorite things from BFA WoW was the expeditions. The AI for the npc players was the best I've experienced for an mmo - how blizzard didn't realize they hit gold with that feature, I have no idea... every mob should have unique AI implemented - i.e. Cowardly enemies , etc... AI is huge for just making basic combat or grinding fun, compared to tedium.
Vor yearPhaedrus Rautha
@Blackelite89 that wasn't the AI, that was the difficulty they were scaled to. That mode wasn't meant to be difficult, so their dmg numbers, armor, etc... were all low. If you raise that, the AI itself was great. 'Garbage' - stfu haha, miles better than any other mob in any mmo..
Vor yearPhaedrus Rautha
@Blackelite89 you're the one that gave specific % buddy. Numbers are everything, the AI just makes it seem like less of an NPC you're fighting (the way they move, learning your rotation and countering, etc...) - as said that mode of expeditions was meant to be easy and there wasn't a hard mode. Hard mode was against other players... I'm just saying that AI should be implemented into all npc and you keep making horrible made up arguments that hold no validity. It's about tuning the numbers for difficulty you want to achieve. You're saying it would be unfair, but the numbers could be tweaked to make it fair and fun. Again stfu... :) No other mmo has had that good of AI for mobs in an mmo and it would be game changing. Also I'm an AI guy, my senior project was creating a deep learning machine that could learn to complete photos that were cut in half. So trust me when I say that there is AI in games and that the mobs in those expeditions do have good AI in terms of a video game npc.
Vor yearPhaedrus Rautha
@Blackelite89 we are, you just keep ignoring what I'm saying... Those mobs were the best AI out of any mob in the game, or any other mmo. You just keep peddling around that fact and saying that overtuning is unfair, and that good AI in games doesn't exist. When all I'm saying is that the AI on the npc player mobs in expeditions is the best AI in the game and should be implemented to all mobs in one way or another. It's much more advanced than the basic mobs in any mmo to date.

MMO‘s are not only hard but impossible to create. There’s so many things people will quit on or not even start it’s insane in comparison to other genres and you can clearly see that when you are looking at WoW’s timeline only. A lot of companies don't understand the maxim: "Make it BETTER, don't take things away." Removing things from games just guarantees the loss of those players who enjoyed that thing. I really enjoyed playing Firefall as you could glide across the entire map, reach the highest points of mountains, and do content solo (lone wolf style); then they stopped you from being able to build for those capabilities in an attempt to make it "new user friendly", and I lost all interest. If they had just introduced a skippable tutorial instead they would still have the large numbers of players that pretty much paid for the games existence and development (i.e. the "Founders").
