I have decided to use a bit of the extra time I have had recently to trawl through the Archives and revisit some of my favourite tricks I have done in recent years to provide a deeper insight into just what goes on behind the scenes.
In the first Episode we look at the “Log Slide” from my 2016 Film “Wee Day Out” I produced with Red Bull and Cut Media.

Showing the process on these stunts makes us appreciate the whole thing even more, seeing the fails and how much work was put into it, and the time spent, its just all amazing to see. Wish Danny would make more of these projects cuz they're all so awesome.

So much hard work and pain for just a 3 second segment, truly inspiring. 💪 We would love to see more Behind the Scenes 🔥

Wow! How awesome is Danny MacAskill?! you made it look so easy when it's all edited together; I guessed it took some preparation, practice and a few fails, but I had no idea how much dedication and hard work it took you ... And here's me, a mere mortal, inspired by watching your films, I know I'm too old to be as good as but I can have a go, and then I see just how hard it is even for a pro like you, my hopes dashed on the rocks of middle-age!

The day after, some hiker comes by the log and is wondering why it’s greased up ....🧐

"I hope it inspires some of you and try out some log slide yourselves" I don't know why I find this line funny 😆

“then I went on to do it another three times... in a row. Which was, almost annoying.” 😂 certainly been there.

You don’t realize how much pain they go through. You just see them ace it every time. Seeing these videos makes me appreciate the whole thing even more.

How dedicated are you to the stuff you love doing. Amazing team effort as well, between the spotting and the cheering i guess. Just a thought, i saw bits of trees quite close to your landing area, near your face. I guess you guys didn't wanna interfere with nature but it looked quite scary at times. Well done, Danny.

So nice to know that even for a pro like danny new stunts don't come effortlessly. Thanks for sharing

Dear Danny, you are simply the greatest mtber out there. Insane mad skills, and come across as the most humble down to earth guys. Salute. Also, 100 tries on first day!! if people ever ask how you got so good, theres an answer there.

I always love watching outtakes/bloopers of movies/tv shows/tricks. I find they're often more hilarious or, in this case, show just how hard a trick is.

Always loved this trick in the final video! Can't imagine how hard it is to balance on a bike sliding sideways. Thanks for the behind-the-scenes look!

Thanks for shearing!! I live this kind of videos you give people hope that your aren't just superhuman but "just" super hardworking!! But you teach through example: practice definitely makes perfect. Even if it takes over 300 attempts :D

Hope there are going to be videos like this on some of your older projects! Some behind-the-scenes of the 2009 video would be very interesting.
