So here a tip for newer people wanting to easily counter yasuo. Once you see yasuo is selected on the enemy team, your gonna want to change up a few things. Basically what you do is click the "X" on the top right of your screen and dodge the match.

Sadly sometimes it is like that. When I played weak early game champ, enemy mid Yasuo had 3 kills by 6th minute while I was 0/0/0 and after that one tornado and I was dead under my turret. Yes I mentioned he was missing 2 of 3 times. The third kill was when lvl 4 Shyvana tried for turret dive.

Honestly what I hate most about him is the CD on his dash being on each seperate minion/champion as it ends up making him feel very low risk high reward as he can dash in try to kill you and if things don't go well just dash out again with ease, and on top of that he has the wind wall he can throw up behind himself to ensure no stun chases him out.

thing is if he doesnt kill you at first attempt he pushes the lane. problem is many midlaners in low elo dont really care about laning and jgl. its so simple to counterplay yasuo if you manage to freeze and wait jungler. you just cant see die few minions without getting single coin out of it

Yeah they should make dashing cost his "flow" so that he has to move around normally in order to dash around. So that he sacrifices his shield for mobility.

My problem with yasuo is that he just does too much. Super strong laning phase with passive and mobility. I can deal with that tho, I'll just play someone strong early, but nah that's also a bad idea because of his double crit passive and q being on hit, meaning he heals from it off normal lifedrain. Yasuo is one of the few champs that can be said to be perfect if played properly

What do you care about the players using him? You should never play with all chat on anyway. And when he is on your team, well maybe he has a reason to be toxic. Some junglers literally play for the enemy team. ^^ To be fair though,2 or 3 years ago in my solo queue Promos I went 8-0 until I had a Yasuo in toplane and I was auto filled jungle. I am not even exactly sure anymore but I think he went 0-2 or 0-3 before I had even reached my 2nd buff starting at Blue, so there was physically no way for me to even reach toplane yet. Yet he somehow makes the entire game about anything else than him just fucking up and proceeds to flame everyone and truely int without caring. I was pretty sad when trying to give Ranked my full concentration to lose my very first game of the season due to a Yasuo like this. I was already in 1900+ mmr at the time and this lose put me back in 1650 MMR games lol. I quit with ranked until this season because of a few more undeserved losses with DC's and actual unprovoked inters. Ofcourse if I had played 200 games these kinds of games are washed away but when you are only 20 or 30 games into ranked and youre only on a 60% winrate or so, yeah then these kinds of Yasuo players do stick around to be extremely hated. :))

From my experience, Yasuo is not inherently problematic, but he breaks some of the gameplay features designed specifically to balance the game as a whole, not balance individual champions. His windwall CAN be played around, you CAN kill Yasuo with relative ease in lane, and he isn’t overly oppressive, but the fact that his windwall exists at all creates a gameplay situation where people become too afraid to play the game in ways normally deemed standard. The wall alone breaks team fights, it breaks standard comeback opportunities, it breaks standard objective play, it flat out cripples champs who are usually deemed “high skillcap” because their actual skill-based directed/aimed “skillshots” are entirely avoidable... it’s presence in the game is fair in some aspects but is not inherently “balanced” around anything, it is just an oppressive, consistently game-changing ability available as a one point wonder and with a comparably low skill threshold to use, compared to other true game-changing abilities like Zoe’s E, Janna’s R or LeeSin’s R.

I remember when it was about to come out. I was so excited to get him coz he seemed really cool and great to play. I was a Lee main that time. However, when I got to play him in game several times, I realized he was not for me. My mind was too slow hahaha. Unfortunately, this was not the case for 99% of the other players who started playing him. Also, his annoying (but cool) kit is NOTHING compared to the toxic players that use him and fight for him every ranked game. That's what makes most players hate him, I think.

I play Ekko every time i go against Yasuo, just manage the minion wave and wait till he makes mistakes, gets 1-2 kills or complete protobelt and just straight up smashing the dude

To be fair for the most part I think he has a pretty unique kit that makes him stand out a lot from the other champions but to me at least the most frustrating thing about him is his damn wind wall. Given the fact that a lot of champions in league that have some form of CC in their kit is ussually a projectile it makes it extremely unfair to play against him because he can just rush you in and throw the windwall right before he starts to go ham on you. So it really makes it impossible to counter or punish him if he does it wrong. Take for example Katarina that is another hated champion. Sure she can completely anihilate you with her kit but if you play smart you can punish her when she tried to go ham on you. But Yasuo can always negate his mistake with his Windwall. And I think that's the frustrating thing about it. It makes him so safe it becomes frustrating when you know he can do lots of mistake that can go unpunished by throwing windwall up.

As a Yasuo main (when he's not banned), it always really annoyed me when people would say he is braindead. His kit is easy to understand, but difficult to master. If he was really that easy, you wouldn't get SO many people who misinterpret how braindead he actually is and go 0/10 in lane

I remember playing Lux support with a random yasuo adc. he goes 5 0 I die once because yea they had a talon mid. He goes: "Bruh my support is so bad." "uninstall Lux".. after 12 minutes he decides to 1v5 the enemies and obviously dies. His reaction to that was: "Ff15 not winnable" When we didnt give up on 15 the then 9 1 Yasuo disconnected and never came back. We won tho.

yasuo has a special place in my iron/bronze heart as i love to see him being played well although I cant pull it off myself but I noticed that a lot of the yasuo players are cocky toxic ppl. Also it is the only champ I have managed to win 1v1 first blood with my high diamond friend (he was playing aurelion for the first time).

they should give him energy as a resource, be generous with it but make a cap on just how long he can sustain using ability after ability

@Moangus PIckard with energy he could get a couple of Qs maybe a dash and thats it. His Qs barely do more damage than an aa. He would be rendered useless, immobile with no dmg. Zed has more escapes and can burst enemies. Without energy he would be bursting all the time. I kinda main yasuo but i still destroyed many lvl7 yas mains with zed despite being a counter pick because i know his weaknesses and you should too

Honestly as someone who is a long time Yasuo main: be kind, be humble and be willing to admit your faults. It sucks that a champ which I enjoy so much gets a bad rep, granted there are some things I'd definetly agree with, such has his wind wall being ridiculously strong and it should probably be connected to his flow resource rather then cooldown reliant, but in general he feels so fun to play because its extremely easy to fuck up and just get flattened if you dont know what you're doing. I mean at least with Yone out now people complain about him more.

Personally, I'm quite fine with playing against yasuo since I know how to counterplay the hyperaggressive yasuo types midlane. But this other day when I didn't ban yasuo because I searched my teammates and they didn't play yasuo, we still lost because the moment the enemy yasuo got bored towerdiving me and dying, he just ganked bot/top and it turns out - despite pinging ss and placing wards, my teammates didn't know how to deal with yasuo and they ended up feeding yasuo instead. -.-

As indicated before, I've never had an issue with Yas's power levels. But if you're going to give somebody a double crit, then his ability to nullify most types of damage in the game (more ranged and ranged champions than melee currently) by pressing W, he should have to time it. It should come out, build up, then only block at full strength. As it stands, pressing W instantly nullifies most types of damage, which makes it a reflexive skill on a champion that already rewards mechanics. Even a total moron with Yas can make teamfights hell because he presses w while facing the right direction.

To be honest, the wall might be fine on something like olaf or xin zhao (xin now has something pretty much the same anyway) but its just so frustrating on Yas because of all the dashes, and the passive shield, for anyone with skill shot. Very hard to hit the skill shots, doesn't really matter if you do anyway.

The main problem with Yasuo is the same problem old Irelia had. He's impossible to balance properly because he just has so much in his kit that any little bit of number increase, either directly or indirectly just makes him so oppressive. The biggest problem in his kit, is that he has two forms of safety in that he has a passive shield he builds up regularly, and his windwall that blocks all projectiles. You don't necessarily have to remove it, but the way to make it so you can tweak his numbers so he's not oppressive, is to tie his windwall to his flow. What I mean, is that you give his flow a number. Say 800 (Could even change it based on his level of ability or something similar.) If he uses windwall, it consumes all of his flow, for a wall that blocks all projectiles, up to that damage. So once a projectile that would break the wall hits, the wall evaporates and that projectile goes through. If his passive shield procs, then it consumes a certain amount up to say 50-100 based on level or something like that and consumes a corresponding amount.

To be fair... yasuo was released during a time in which Thunder lords and black cleaver were extremely overpowered. His release just seemed like another piece to add on top of one of the most hated patches.

I remember the time when an enemy yasuo died 10 times, after dying 10 times he became a monster. He got a triple kill 3 times. Like wtf

i've always ban yasuo whenever I had the ban from since he came out. From the kit alone I already knew he was strong; sure the player could be a bad yasuo, but I always factor the play based on the max of what I could see on the champion. And even now he is still very strong, in a teamfight flow is a 510 shield on top of his 2k hp which puts him at 2.5k and he gains it again on ult which puts him at 3k possible burst ehp without any hp items and that gives him enough space in a fight to at least proc the shield once more if not focused for a total pseudo hp of 3.5k without any hp items. To further in the possibility of making it happen he has one of the lowest cd aoe knock ups in the game averaging about 6.6s per knock up if played right from having shiv and greaves. Then there is the dmg boost from having more crit from his passive which is as good as the boost On-hit Yi gets from double strike, making him a very high level threat vs adc. Now even if he does not wind wall correctly, there is still his ult which can be chained to any knock up like those from a wukong on the team with the yasuo himself needing to think about aim/etc which saves alot of mental processing and with this guaranteed chain cc + the amount of dmg bruisers bring, the enemy carries can get instagibbed, leaving the rest enemy team without primary damage. This is without getting into the mobility he gains with his dashes (which is in a sense also ghosting+ignoring slow) making him much less trackable in the heat of battle, moving him out of range from autos, casts, etc while rebuilding flow and waiting out q cd. All these things combined makes him an incredibly reliable ally to have on the same team or a nuisance to deal with if on the other just because it's yasuo. In an average matchup, much of the dps in a team fight is on the adc, if yasuo is not bursted by what burst champions one's team has and he makes it to the adc with some other bruiser or even himself, most carries are going to be zoned completely out of that fight, which is why as support if there is yasuo, always save cc on him; if playing alistar for example I generally pulverize when he dash to adc, try not to position my self in line with adc so that only one of us can get knocked up, and if yas goes for his ult I head butt him mid air. As for adc, skilled ezreal/kalista and the new xayah can work really well vs yasuo due to their mobility and burst capability.

I have a friend that's INSANE with Yasuo. I can literally throw the game and we'll still win. One time we were playing, he had 24 kills 3 deaths.

I love how in development Yasuo ult became Yone's ult. Edit: Thinking on it, I wish they gave Yasuo the reduced crit damage thing Yone has as a tradeoff for double crit chance

Yasuo was OP on release, I went 19-2 with him but they nerfed him. He became OP again other times with certain builds which were also nerfed. He definitely has this tendency to become randomly broken with new items however I don't think hes OP his passive is just badly thought out. No champion should gain crit naturally. Tryn is badly designed too. Overalll though he has a lot of weaknesses. I feel like everyone who cries about him mains lux, who is an extremely weak champion that is the worst thing you could play into yasuo. Pick Vladimir, malzahar or renekton and he's actually quite weak and useless assuming you don't just int.

When you call Yasuo, "League's Most Despised Champion" and don't even realize Teemo is the only champ to be permabanned from one for all.

My thought is (from a bad low elo player) that you probably should just make it so that his third q shouldn't have on hit effects, like critically striking. When laneing against him he feels so oppressive because he has so much trade denial, but also because when doing curtain trades its hard to do a good trade, and when it does happen, he can just hit you will his airbourning Q which crits you and makes the trade even. So instead of using his e to engage disengage and trade he just presses q 3 times like a skill shot. This makes him so oppressive and although raises the skill floor i think would cause him to be way less oppressive since it seems like (from the perspective of a low elo person which is a lot of the community) that Yasuo is impossible to lane against.

Because when my team has Yasuo he goes 0-15, and when the enemy team has yasuo he goes 15-0.

@Alexander and as a Support Sona main I would love to take my time and tell you of each game me and my Premade hardstomped botlane and then got one shot by the enemy Yasuo who came out of Mid 15/0. It's always the same story , do really well then watch your Yasuo feed the enemy Assassin/mage and end up getting one shot no matter how good you are. I will never get why I always get the bad Yasuo player on my team but I am just sick of it.

That reminds me of my good times with Yasuo. I played Yasuo midlane, and i got nice ganks from my Jungler and Support. Except they stole all my Kills only then to later blame me for not having Kills. And then they are surprised why Yasuo players start to get pissed.

They might say that Yasuo has one of the "highest skill caps", yet even bronze players do well with him. Can't say the same for something like Lee Sin. Yasuo still consistently does tons of damage no matter the skill level. Even when Yasuo players are behind they can still easily kill lane opponents. His dash should have a general cooldown and his passive should be removed OR windwall should be nerfed heavily (IE doesn't completely block abilities and only reduces damage / possibly slows them).

Here's an idea: buff his E's dash range, but nerf its cast range. That way its only a good gap closer when you use minions, but its not a free gap closer on enemies

One thing they could do to balance him is changing the double crit passive, make it like add 25% Crit upon reaching 25% crit with items. This way he is forced to build 3 crit items to get full crit and not only 2, removing some stupid builds were he is able to abuse both tankiness and damage.

As a main Yasuo i really love how u made this video. U can hate him or love him, or both but u most of the people hate him because they dont really understand his strength and weakness. Just play champions with hard cc or heavy bruisers and Yasuo its over, simply as that.

I know this is old but I still can't believe why Yasuo gets this level of hate. He is one of my favorite champions I think he has a wide learning curve to master. At the same time I believe he lives to his story in a strong way because he is chased in the lore but in real life too because of this hate many players have developed against him.

Yasuo is an adc that has exchanged range for double crit chance, excessive mobility, a knock up, armour penetration, cdr bassed on attack speed and a windwall that can stop every proyectile in the game from autos to ultimates. Balanced

Yasuo in this current iteration is just okay if you're good at him and have a good team comp. He was only broken in s4 and a little in s5

As a newish player I feel like he rewards people who really reach for that skill cap just a little much. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just really frustrating that most of his games seem to be 0/10/* or 10/0/* He feels too strong both 1v1 and in team fights.

As a gnar main, it's pretty relieving to have a yasuo mid duo. I absolutely despise playing against yasuo as any champ, especially gnar.

The only thing that i would change on yasuo abilities is the windwall, i would make it like a shield refill when the passive procs, so you use w to refill your passive, or at least a 50% passive shield

The thing about Yasuo is that he's only op if the one playing him has mastered his kit and that kinda doesn't make him a champion that needs a nerf because there are champions out there that are super op even if you're playing them for the first time... for example neeko. In my first game with neeko i went 16/4/10 because she's so easy to play, all you need to do is keep yur distance and hit your enemies with an e and q and a couple auto attacks and dont make me talk about all the times one of my teammates was dead and i was able to transform into them making my enemies think i was at 100hp and nearly dead and then i pop my ult and destroy them. In conclusion i think that if you play defensive and you master your champion you can beat yasuo. I am a Yasuo main and while i haven't mastered him like Yassuo(Moe) or Faker i am still pretty good and can get 20+ kills and have 0 or 1 death, but i still get rekt by Master Yi's or champions that got fed by my teammates. If i was playing any champion other than Yasuo and the enemy team has a Yasuo then all i need to do is be good at the champion im playing, go kill the champions on the enemy team to be ahead of yasuo and then rek him. So basically i think nerfing him would make him unplayable and if you cant dodge his tornados then thats your fault.

Actually the dash ult idea would be awesome,given that the E is not changed,imagine an execute dash kind of like Akali’s one that deals damage only to airborne targets,reseting on kill.

Yesterday i went 9/0/3 with yasuo and enemy team surrendered within 15 mins, dude I was level 10 😂

Change his windwall to be shorter with a slightly lower cooldown, reduce his e to a flat cooldown, make him use energy, reduce the bonus crit chance he gets from passive. There are several ways to make yasuo less *frustrating* to play against. His windwall is supposed to be a parry, why do i have to completely orient myself around the wall as opposed to what Fiora is like, why do i have to be terrified of my minions when trying to run away, and why does he get to do everything with no penalty? He gets a shield from *walking* and he has no other resource besides health. If a yasuo is smart, he will get in an get out, only taking shield damage, and just wait for the next time its up. Retaliate harder than he likes, and he'll pop the windwall. It has a long cooldown, but you also blew your cooldowns trying to attack him. And now you're at a disadvantage because you lost mana, and he lost... nothing.

The biggest problem that I have with Yasuo is that he has too many ways of avoiding damage. He has his passive shield, early lifesteal since he hits max crit off two items, windwall, and plenty of mobility to dodge skillshots. The problem is, this is what I believe makes him so fun to play. You feel rewarded for playing well since you can survive so much. Nerfing his damage is probably the best way to fix him. I’d like to see his Q no longer be on-hit. That makes it more difficult for him to heal off lifesteal and should lower his damage a bit. However, his AD ratio on his Q should be raised so that it’s not a useless ability (probably an additional +0.3).

Im okay with him usually but for the love of god just give his dash a stack stash so that it cannot just be spammed more than 8 times in a row during a teamfight by running near a minion wave

the frustrating thing about yasuo is that in soloq you can't win against him without your jungler permaganking him and in soloq you want to be in control of your game, you don't want to rely upon your teammates

I strongly believe that "high skill cap means the character has to be strong" is a very, very wrong way to balance. It's a double dip conundrum. Why would you make someone who's already good at the game double dip with a hero that is absurdly overpowered if played right? It creates nothing but a helpless feeling.

The only problem I have with Yasuo is his double passive. Any other champ wants 100% crit chance? It's like 12K gold and 3-4 item slots. Yasuo wants 100% crit chance, it's like 5K gold and then 2-3 item slots. Not only that but he gets a free shield

Actually one of the worst things to face in the game, yasuo can be 1/40 and win the game with a windwall well placed. Add this + the fact that just needs 2 items to oneshot everything and you get the frustration he coused over the years.

As a mastery 5 yasuo i can relate because i was very good before i got my skin for him but i wanted to act good like im unkillable i started inting so i started to play master yi, teemo,miss fortune and other attack speed champions

Make his windwall actually work like intended ie. block frontal spells and only come to effect when its away from him, and remove his crit or shield, and if its necesssary lengthen his dash CD

Theory: the other teams Yasuo is always better because they actually invest in him and gank and peel, while "our Yasuo" is usually a random

To be honest. There is so much counter play to yasuo at this day. Almost every champ has at least one ability that counters him. Mostly any cc or burst. Sustain is where yasuo wins but the rest is highly difficult to play with. Especially when the team your on isn't helping you whilst they always gank because, "your yasuo" so in other words I feel like yasuo is a champion that is effective as long as he is used with a team. If not then he falls out of power.

Imagine if warlord's Bloodlust existed today with Senna being able to build 100% crit chance without even really trying

As a Karthus main, Yasuo has always just been another assassin to me. The difference is that I actually think that he's fun to play as and in the current patch, fun to play against. His dash being a set distance means that I can land Qs on him by reading where he will go. He can't block any of Karthus's abilities and can't stay in melee range without getting punished hard for it, so it's definitely not as hard as other mages, but I've found that it's a pretty fair matchup.

well yasuo is not an assassin but he is an skirmisher from the same class as assassin the "slayer" class .

The real nerf to Yasuo was the e base damage nerfs of early Season 7. He became way too unfun to play as and his lane phase was gutted. I remember, before those nerfs when you always maxed e and 1v2 the jungler and laner no prob, while dashing around the creep wave like a madman.

@SuperTaakot I'm also a 400k Yas main, 300k until the big nerfs. The rest 100k are since then. I can't play the champ anymore xD

Yasuo is just trash tier right now, no reason to play him (coming from a 2.4m yas one trick).

After all what happened to Yasuo, I think Riot won't touch him anymore because when they buff him a little, he becomes an OP pick vice versa if he got nerf he'll be the worst pick again. And by now the current Yasuo for me is heavily dependent on how will the player plays him, will he be good or be a burden to the team.

Yas is great example of how you can have too much skill expression. Also a great example of why you shouldn't give champions a blanket projectile nullifier

Actually the best Yasuo is an unknown player called "Ringelking". He reached Rank 1 on EUW server few seasons ago. He was known for his passive and safe gameplay until 2 items, then 1v9 monster. He was a Toplane main.

Honestly I think a great way for yas to change and make players not hate him so much is to make it so that his w is reworked Cause I honestly as a mainly melee champion player don't mind it But when I do play ranged champs like Leblanc and Kaisa it is soo damn annoying the fact he can just nope some key abilities and save allies I am okay when yas windwalls the chain headed toward him but allies is alittle much imop Give him like a fiora reposte

I actually don't get mad at tasso anymore I think he's worth learning because he has a massive learning curve not only that but also dying to yasuo as always felt like my fault not his. Unlike champs like ekko and any syndra where not only their ults but their kits also feel unfair to play against and lack the skill required in order for it to be an outplay and become more of a pain in the ass.

​@Scriptmas Bruh moment. I can smell the silver elo from here. Blind doesnt work against mages or casters boy. He gets deleted by Fizz, Ahri, Zoe, Kassadin or any other midlaner without counterplay. If he melts people with his shrooms he gets oneshotted by everyone, if he wants to survive he doesnt melt people so choose. His Blind is shit against champs like riven and aatrox who spam abilities. He gets shitted on by every single AP top like Vlad and Rumble. Git Gud

For me Yasuo is already balanced. Yasuo's biggest weaknesss is Singed. He relies on creeps to spam that skill but without creeps he's done for. Yeah he's already balanced in my opinion.

I'm not a Yasuo man, I'm not even good with him but for me it is the master piece of league of legends, this entire design is just perfect, his kit.
