@Fire Elighting The eye licking thing is for geckos. Snakes don't have eyelids, yes, but they don't lick their eyes because their tongue is what they use to take pick up chemicals on the ground or air since they have no sense of taste or smell receptors on their tongue to relay it to the actual organs used to smell on the roof of their mouths. Though, here's some eye facts about snakes that aren't geckos. 1. They don't have eyelids, but they have a single transparent scale/membrane around them to protect their eye! 2. Because of the scale covering the eye, when a snake sheds, it can't see and you can actually tell if a snake is starting to shed if the scale over their eye is getting glossy or they seem like they can't see 3. The scale over their eyes even protects it from drying, hence why they don't need to lick their eyes like geckos since geckos don't have a scale over their eyes and some do have eyelids but others don't as well and just have a longer tongue meant for that. 4. The lack of eyelids is most likely due to their evolutionary process and the lack of need for amazing eye sight or good eye sight wasn't really needed where they lived (often in caves, along the ground). 5. Snakes can have blue or gray eyes! 6. Snakes can only see a limited range of colors (most likely two vs the three we see) 7. Overall, snakes have poor eyesight, hence why their tongue flicks so often when around something new to get to know it, but if they're threatened, they can enhance their vision! (Usually to get a more accurate strike/fake out or to even bite if needed, could also do this when hunting prey to know where to strike) 8. Pit Vipers and other types of snakes can assumedly even see infrared through receptors! Snakes in general are really cool animals, but no, they don't lick their eyeballs since their eyes never get dry or get anything in them in the first place.

A cockroach got inside my ear one time, it even laid an egg inside there too. I remember one day waking up at around 4 am hearing a really weird but extremely loud noise in my right ear, it would sporadically happen every 30 seconds to a couple minutes. That was the noise of the cockroach moving inside my ear, and every time it happened it felt extremely uncomfortable. It definitely hurt but that wasn't the worst part, the sensation and the extremely loud noise it made every time it moved. EUGH my god, I knew imminently there was a bug in my ear after hearing it. When I got up I tried using a q tip to get it out, big fucking mistake. ended up just killing it and smushing its dead body all over my ear but I didn't know that at the time. I rinsed my ear with water while I was taking a shower and I thought it was all over. Like it fell out my ear and all was good. One week later I woke up to the worst pain of my life in my right ear. It was so bad I couldn't focus on literally anything, even typing out words was hard. It kept getting worse and worse and eventually I went to the emergency. Turns out that pain was an infection caused by the rotting body of the cockroach and prob the egg idk. They did a lot of shit to my ear, first, they used a syringe filled with water to fill my ear and they managed to get out the egg. Then after trying and failing to get the actual cockroach out they just decided to call in the expert. they used some suction shit to get out the rest and it hurt like crazy. my god is that shit one of the most painful and uncomfortable things u can feel. And she had to go in multiple times to get different pieces of that mf out. In the end, they got all of it out and I had to put some drops in my ear and take some pills for a month but all was good. Thankfully I've never really been scared of cockroaches so It wasn't nightmare fuel for me but it definitely was a scary experience. Long story short don't use q tips if something is inside your ear, use a syringe filled with water while tilting your head down and let gravity do its work.

Here’s my general opinion on cockroaches. While I don’t like them, I do respect the HELL out of them. They are one of the heartiest creatures on God’s green Earth and like most other bottom-feeding creatures, they serve a vital purpose that, though it grosses me out, is absolutely necessary. I love seeing insect ambassadors. 40% of all insects are declining globally, it's alarming enough that the term "insect apocalypse" is emerging in the scientific community. They are the backbone of almost every single ecosystem on the planet besides the few most frigid tundra areas. They're pinnacles of biodiversity & the awesome power of evolution. I wish more people liked them!

I can't with cockroaches. Here's my story. I was 3 years old. My mom rented out a house in Hawaii for our family vacation. (Me, my big brother, and my grandparents). The house was apparently old and IT WAS INFESTED. I shit you not, It was infested with spiders, roaches and ants. I was already afraid of spiders. I never saw a cockroach so close up in my life. So this is what happened. It was night time. I slept beside my mom. She turned off the lamp next to her. *flop*. I felt something on my face. Thinking if it was my mom's hand. No No. No. No. I asked her if it was her hand. She replies confused - "No?" She then proceeds to turn on the lights. Then the horror started. A 3 inch Hawaiian cockroach was on my face. I couldn't. I had screamed to the top of my lungs. The after thought was worse because, what if. What if it had gone into my mouth. Oh god the horrors. But thank god it didn't. Anyway, I screamed and it flew to the nearby curtains. My brother who was in the other room, slams his door wide open and proceeds to open our door as well. He yells - "What happened!" As he said that, the roach immediately flew into his room and just hid. I don’t remember what happened afterwards but the next day, my grandfather convinced me that he had eaten the roach. I can't. It is a memory I cannot forget. Nothing will change my fear from cockroaches. In the end. Mom saw "probably" the same roach on the side of the pool outside. But who knows.

I also have a deathly fear of insects so it’s cool that I can finally relate to someone. Idk why most ppl hate snakes or the ocean that shit is so cool, and I’d rather almost anything in the ocean kill me than a swarm of insects. Also huge props to maya this is awesome

After becoming familiar with Urban Rescue Ranch's Kevin, I'm impressed by how friendly that Emu is

This is an awesome video! Was very cool learning about animals, while watching charlie be simultaneously terrified and enamored with them :)

Thing is, though, he's admitted that palmetto bugs--the flying roaches, that is--are the ones he's scared of. You've only conquered half your fear, Charlie.

@Key_influence crane fly maybe?

ive seen palmetto bugs in my house a lot, lucky they havent flown at me yet,

living in southeast asia means those things can be around any corner of your house. doesn’t make it any better though, i have had some flying around my room and even on me. it was traumatizing.

Props to Charlie though, seriously. It was actually inspiring seeing him face down his fears.

I think the coolest part of this video was learning that Maya isn't just some streamer girl part of the streamer crew I keep seeing that are seemingly famous for just knowing each other. Knowing that she has this side of her where she actually makes a difference in the world and has a deep knowledge and passion for the animals in her care is honestly so wholesome, and I almost feel guilty for viewing her with the lens I did

It's acc incredible how dedicated Charlie is to wearing the same white T-shirt no matter where he is like a cartoon character , when he goes on a trip like this he must just pack several of the same white T-shirt

Cockroaches are cute and friendly 😊 they're also really smart too.

20:02 she actually said emu the right way! for non australians that probably doesn't mean much but americans typically don't say it right so hearing one say it correctly is pretty cool

I wouldn't say fear, Charles fears nothing... it's more over a weakness if anything, and now that he has no known weaknesses he is primed and ready to take over the world.
