Hey guys, so I have hopped on both and keep doing it again and again, and I keep coming up with the same conclusions. Here's my thoughts "Pros & Cons" on the Case and Deere quads.
Now again, I do keep thinking of new and different things as I go, but this is what I have thus far. I don't have bias, I don't care as long as it pulls. 🙂

(Speaking as a Deere guy)...The Deere has a smoother ride going down the road specifically because it doesn't have a third bogey axle exactly under the vertical center line of the main axle, so it acts more like a walking beam axle. On the case, a one inch immediate rise of the center bogey causes an immediate one inch rise of the main axle. Not so on the two bogey Deere, the main axle rise is incremental because they are off the main axle vertical center line, and tend to walk over those odd bumps in the road. The only way the Deere would be more rough in the field (which I trust your observation), going against the seeded rows, would be, regrettably, if the distance between the seed rows happened to coincidentally too closely match the distance between bogey axle centerlines on the Deere, or match up in exactly the wrong way, whichever you prefer. In that instance the Case certainly would be smoother having a third bogey, riding the ridgetops. And btw I agree, all my adult life I have never understood why Case only installs a $5 stereo system in their equipment. On farms that run both color's and have a dozen hired men, everyone wants to run the Deere and no one wants to run the red one's, if for that reason alone (considering they don't own a bolt in either). Merry Christmas Mike, thanks for your awesome channel.

I like the non biased opinions. We ran Agco machines for over 25 years. More because were loyal customers. We couldn’t manage the downtime and the cost of repairs anymore with them. Switched to John Deere. This year was the first year in 25 years we haven’t had downtime. The Deere’s just run. New machines! Yes, but I haven’t had a new Agco machine in 25 years that hasn’t had issues in the first year and hardly even in the first 100 hours.

On the pros you missed the good visibility out the back window. It’s interesting to get your take as I watch Millenial Farmer who JD all the way even though Welker set up a demo in a Case 620 Quad. He likes it. Larson Farms run Case 600 and 620 Quads as do Welker. I think Dustin Bezugly runs Versatile. I like you equal pros and cons for both and you have to hope the OEM’s are listening. Good stuff. At the end of the day service sells so the dealers play a big part. They may have the best equipment but if their service sucks, end of story.

This was quite intersting and pretty cool to see. Thanks for the vids Mike. 😁 And I agree about the colour bashing / manufacturer bashing... every manufacturer has their vision and what they want to make same like cars ... It's the vehicle you need to to the job you want it to do best that you gonna buy... no use buying an axe if you can buy a chainsaw to cut some trees to make a clearing... but for chopping wood for a fire the chainsaw may be a bit overkill... 😉 I love the sounds the farm vehicles make, so soothing 😎 Very informative videos. Solution simple: John Deere is an American company The profits it makes stay, for the most part, in the United States of America. Case is an Italian-owned outfit, F.I.A.T. (Federation Internationale Automobili Torino [or some such]) -Chrysler and the profits are directed to Italy and the dirtballs of the European Union. Are you an American? The choice is obvious, methinks.

Like to keep up on the changes on the new technolgy i was farming in the 8o's ( ot a good time 22% int Mt St Helens turned from hot dry spring to cold wet summer then frose) we had built a protype 55 ft airseeder (mfg from Sk had 110 ft in Farm Show the Big Budd hadcthec750 hp they should have built it in Cdn thecfreight ratescin and out of Havre MT helped kill Big Bud freight rates into Wpg Mb better as Cdn trucks cant drop in northern states rated higher out of norther states higher too this teally hurts the mfg in northern states. I had units with specialized oil filterstion to help tran/hyd oil can use on engine oils too. But mfg just love selling parts and new equip. Used fuel enhancing tech on the semi trucks we owend in 9o's Currently working with methonal for power with drones etc Have protyped a traction unit for vehicles on ice. A concrete attachment for skidsteers Harvest last yr in Cdn was real bad lots of crops sat all winter inprovements to help utulize equip better early in harvest rather than waiting which last fall only got worse. Get the crop into storage sooner one fall large windstorm destroyed canola crops that could have been in storage ( custom harvestors were available farmers have own eqip trying to do their own) bad mistake 1/2 crop was blown into ditches etc get it into storage quicker the better (can look after in storage easier) we wete already doing this as a seed grower in 70's and 80's some do this now harvest at high moisture early use better equip etc to dry early when the longer warmer days are available trying to dry when temp are cold is very costly and quality of the crop has already deterioted Note: the newer harvest equip has moisture sensors on them we didnt even have this in the 80's but we harvested (my own dad and neighbous thought i was so impatient) but the higher the moisture had higher germination later sold for seed by the semi load the entire crop WOW there is ways using ozone etc for mold etc But Cdn mfg ( europeans at farm show yes) but NO cdn mfg not interested this was in 2017? In Mb and Sk we are planing to mfg some equip ourselves currently working on the concrete equip ( a unique conveyor too that will work with the concrete pumps that could be used for peas/lentils i had built ou own tube conveyors in the 80's Currently doing int online marketing after visiting Israel

JD quadtracks are slick looking rigs. But a lot of the guys that have ran both Case and JD quadtracs like the Case more. From what I've experienced the Case is way quieter in the cab has better visibility and like you said more power and we noticed better fuel consumption, the JD has a hydraulic whine that drives a person crazy. The power issue is because of the JD transmissions, the tractor has the same engine as the Delta track versatile but the Versatile has more power as well.

Hi Mike, recently subscribed and love the fun and informative vids!! Especially love this one as I've recently taken delivery of a Case 540. We had run a secondhand 480 for five years, but unfortunately let us down the last couple of harvests, so it had to go. Tried a 9RX and a 620 Case. All the points you made I picked up on when we had the demos, so at least I now know i made the right decision, both good machines and we have good dealer back up for both, also my operator preferred the Case and he's the one who's going to be on it all season, so if he wants to be in it, he'll get the most out of it. Shame its not got the fridge, as I dont think my operator is going to want to go home, in fear that someone else will drive it!! Keep up the good work. William from the UK

I can't believe that farm equipment manufactures are forced to install DEF on of all things, self-powered equipment like tractors or combines. How absolutely stupid & ridiculous. How much does farm equipment 'add' to the environmental 'global warming' hoax? Compare that to the millions of heavy trucks on the road, which I also believe don't need DEF either. I want to see more research into improving efficient diesel combustion. Any additional cost would have to be reciprocated w/ like value but even now, remove the DEF. I have questions about particulate filters but for now the DEF is taking space were fuel could be carried. Good video.

Thanks Mike for extensive and RICH review from a farmer itself putting thos tractors to their limits. Thanks for review of this mighty red beast pulling like an animal and the fair comparison with 'old' Johnny😉. It has 620 horse power, but in some specificstions find Advertised Engine Power, Rated hp 620 (kW 462), with Maximum Engine Power up to even hp 682 (kW 509), it seems to have a Power Boost, hp 62 ((kW 46), do you have or use that? Aniway, so massive amount of power. About weight, it is heavy, you say even the Red weighs up till 60,000 pounds, about 27 tons, not yet talking about an extra two tons of diesel and def. Close to thirty tons. The weight of the full train may weigh up to, about 6 - 70 tons? Nuts 😉. Clearly it is your best pulling tractor with good tracks and because of the massive weight, translation to the soil with limited slip, even uphill. Uphill it even seem to cause limited damaga to the seedbed. Nice to have the quick and smooth shifting under thos circumstance, wet, uphill, etc! Nice to work with, as long you keep the RPPs at high rate (adding noise, avoidig to hear anything of yr good music 😉). Interested to hear what your defining considerations are for buying new tractor in future. So many variables influence that. Thanks again for the honest and objective review / comparison of the tractors👍

I just saw this video and talking about power lines, I came in contact with a power line with a ladder on top of a grain bin roof ( dropping it in the bin for my son to climb out, but he could reach the opening but 17 feet to the ground) so not fun and I will describe what it was like. First of all my mussels tightened right up like a drum could not move at all. Could not see anything just pure white, could not breath, I knew exactly what happened and tried to scream for help nothing came out. Felt like I was given the biggest hardest bear hug possible on the inside. I lost consciousness, doctor said that was because my heart quit. I roll off the bin and landed on my back which more then likely is what saved my life. I got burned pretty good but kept all my fingers and toes. But for the last 16 years I have paid for this mishap. One person asked if I could do it all over again for a million dollars would I, I said not for any amount. I would not wish this on anybody. Oh the power company removed the power line. Why dad put it there and why we never moved it, is something I keep asking my self over and over.

On the quadtrac I like being able to see the fluid level in the idler and boggy wheels. But a big pain in the ass if you have to change or add fluid to them as the fill plug is not centered. As for the RX the plug is centered so no matter where the tractor is parked you can check the levels of the idler wheels and easy to fill. But always have to pull the plug to check level. Catch 22. Also really enjoy being able to see my hitch. In our operation we constantly are changing equipment and need to see the hitch big time saver. Enjoy your videos. Mike 🤩 Love your operation. Maybe one day I will have to stop buy for a tour. Only a couple hours west of you. Happy 2020 farming.
