No todas llegan a la misma nota además, algunas no pueden cambiar la tonalidad de un grave a un agudo de forma fluida y sin una desafinacion mínima, en cambio las de calidad no tienen una desafinacion de la tonalidad al tocar cambios de graves a agudas

Neste caso não é somente o preço das flautas, mas a estrutura delas que as diferenciam. É flautas de bizel como as doces são instrumentos diferentes da flauta transversal.

O som das flautas doce se formam muito no corpo. As transversais formam o som encima. Na " boquilha" a estabilização dos registros são mais equilibradas nas transversais.

Com esse vídeo cheguei a conclusão, o que importa a o artista não a ferramenta, ele tocou todas a flautas lindamente.

I commend you for playing the slide whistle that well, that must have taken ages, wow! Also, I am continually impressed by the fact that the concert flute is the only instrument I know of, where the instrument that is considered the best sounding is the one made of actual gold. Also also, my favourite flutes were not included. I love kaval, but not dilli kaval, which was the one played in the video. The ones I like have no fipple and are played by blowing over a sharp edge. I especially like the sound of the Egyptian kawala, which has a very airy yet very warm and sentimental tone, just like the Sirocco desert wind. :)

My impression as well, and of course I hear the difference. Interestingly enough it was the two cheapers and the most expensive that had the most pleasant sound. Flutes, like violins, can be quite grating. Then again, if I had been half my age my opinion might have been another, as I would have heard more of the higher overtones.

@Bill Hyman I was specifically using Fender electric guitars as a point of reference. With those, once you pass a certain price, the law of diminishing returns kicks in. In their top tier guitars, all you are paying for is the prestige of owning a custom model that some big name artist endorsed. I also have experience in trumpets from high school; I could cover three octaves on an Olds beginner model, while I struggled to cover two on a Bach base model (not a Strat). The Bach's valve springs were lighter, and the tone was a bit different, which was good, but not enough to completely sell me on the model.

@Jeremiah Bullfrog incorrect, the expensive ones are always the best. It's why they are expensive. I'm a musician and I would rather have an instrument of higher quality with less defects to play on than a cheap one with more defects. Sure, if you have talent you can minimize the instruments faults, but that hinders your full potential. No classical musician with his/her salt would play the 20 dollar flute in a concert.

I think the wooden flutes from various cultures all sound much brighter, and sharper...not sharp in the sense of pitch or being off-key, but rather more strident.

That said, the flutist really can make that insanely expensive instrument shine. How exactly did he get two sounds at once out of it? Of was he just doing that accompaniment sound while he wasn't playing the actual notes and just immediately returned to it? Awesome effect in any case. Also, those trills were something else.

Harmonics. He’s changing the pitch of his instrument with the breath in his lungs. I was taught how to do this in college, and it’s hard as crap, because if you don’t nail the pitch accurately, it’s going to sound flat or sharp and sound like crap. He’s using harmonics and also a lot of different tonguing techniques to create some epic sounds here. 😊
