The moment Dean Norris won me over as an actor was the scene where he slugs Walter in his garage. There’s a long moment where he and Walt just look at each other, and he says, “I don’t know who you are.” (It shows it in this vid). There’s this quite emotional tension in his voice and in his eyes, like he’s saying goodbye to someone he used to know. He could’ve won an Emmy for that moment alone.

@dntknonuttin she's super easy to hate since we're set up to sympathize with Walt, but she's a great character, some people get mad at her for being upset with Walt, but he literally turned down free treatment and a better job because of pride, he was never forced to cook meth to provide, it was for his pride. Another great scene with her is the final one, where despite everything she still lets Walt see Holly despite everything.

Anna Gunn did not deserve the hate she got as Skylar. She played the role perfectly. I think the character of Skylar should not have been hated as much as she was. For me, she was the most realistic character in the show.

It truly is sad that some people can have so much hate for a character that they actively harass the actress. I wish the best for her.

@RWBYA:B I started watching BB a few years ago, made it up to season 3 and then stopped watching it for some reason. A few years passed and i started it again from the beginning two months ago and finished it yesterday. And before I started again, i had skyler as a bitch in my memories and hated her. But after watching it a second time, and finishing it, i dont understandt why I and the rest of the people in the internet hated her so much. The only thing thats wrong of her is cheating with Ted. Cheating is always wrong, no matter the reasons or situation. But everything else, walter puts on her. He puts her and her kids in danger. And shes just scared for the safety of her kids. I dont see nothing wrong with reacting how she did. Its all Walters fault

You can see that when he is saying "And I love Mike" he's holding his cup with two hands and then when we see Bryan making his joke he's holding it in a different position. There's a cut, maybe he made the joke a few seconds after Jonathan finished, to lighten up the mood a bit, but not interrupting him disrespectfully

It's a mercy thing. And it ends in a laugh. Best of all worlds and felt as a relief to everyone in the room, including the person you just gave a little shake by kidding him around.

The fact that Vince Gilligan was kinda writing this all by the seat of his pants, is honestly incredible. Its mind boggling how he still managed to still pull off this masterpiece. That takes some serious skill.

They've clearly all been affected by the series but it's incredible how emotionally invested Betsy Brandt is in this. It's like she still is Marie.

I totally agree... she was so genuinely about it; her character was one of my favorites. She was such a strong dynamic with her piercing investigations. She also played so believably almost like her own thoughts are their own actress, because her thoughts are written on her face naturally...

Her return in Better Call Saul was such a perfect addition to the shows finale, she nailed it; like you said she's so invested in her character even though it's been years since she last played it, I'm so glad they put her in the last episode of BCS, made sense and closure, amazing actress.

@a True enough, but narratively she was important and she got to be a character in her own right through what we saw of her relationship with her dad and her effort to stay sober. I suppose I should be fair and extend the same courtesy to Andrea and Emily Rios who played her though. She was a wonderful and well-performed character too

I'm watching BrBa again (might be the 7th or 8th time, I've lost track), and every episode I can't help but say 'I love this show.' Vince and the writing team are masters at what they do. Better Call Saul is an absolutely incredible feat as well. The cast, the acting, the story, the emotion... Nothing will ever be this good.

@Andy Kolb The Sopranos doesn’t even begin to compare. The plot in BB continually moved forward in unexpected ways. The plot in the sopranos (and I only made it towards the end of season two) seems to not exist or is at a standstill. I gave up because the show didn’t seem to be going anywhere.

This show came on when I was 67 & I was raised on sweet, happily ever after, safe tv shows. Well wow Breaking Bad blew my mind, kept me addicted to the storyline, & had me unable to miss one single episode. The ending was perfection with the machine gun killing the real bad guys, Jesse escaping, & Walter white saying good bye to his creation "baby blue" meth. It was the best roller coaster ride of a tv show ever. So glad I found the courage to stick with it. Thank you Gilligan & the actors for this slice of reality.

And the final song set the torn, melancholy finish so perfectly. Like soothing us all at our time of tremendous loss of a loved one, yet filling us with memories of the good times we had. It was brilliant all around. No ending is ever as beautifully crafted , as breaking bad. I read someone in Colorado? Wrote an obituary , that was published in the paper for Mr. White. Photo and all. I wish I thought of it. Imagine if everyone did.

It still fascinates me that the writers posses so much magic. Aaron Paul was intended to only play one or two episodes to introduce Mr. White to the drug world. It's a credit that they recognized Aaron's talent and that Aaron hit it out of the park over and over again. To help the ensemble cast to be awesome.

In my mind, nothing will ever top Breaking Bad. It was lightning in a bottle. I rewatch it at least once a year. I’ve never been so interested in every single character in a show and been so fascinated by how in depth and thought provoking every episode is. You can find something new to appreciate every time you watch it. Vince Gilligan and everyone involved with the show are true geniuses and masters of story telling. My love for this show knows no bounds!

Same here! Been a fan of the show since i gave it a chance on Netflix in 2014. It became my #1 show. I really didn't even watch tv much because there was nothing on tv that was entertaining at the time. But Breaking bad opened my mind up to TV shows. I re-watch BB every year and see something new each time. Brilliant show. Brilliant writers and cast. And I absolutely love Better call Saul too. I just finished it and man is it good!

It´s strange to me, how Bob Odenkirk - usually seen as the talky Saul, the guy everyone wants to shut up, seems like the most quiet one of them all. When everybody laughs loud, he just smiles a little.

I still remember watching this masterpiece on tv, when all episodes were 'warm and crispy'. It made me tear up back then, and it still makes me tear up. I loved to see every single minute, as I still do with the same excitement. The greatest gratitudes to the writers, directors and producers, to the cast and the crew, they all made something that will remain for a long time. If I'll have kids, I'm going to show this series to them when they grow old enough.

Seeing Jonathan Banks get emotional is so opposite of the character he plays but it really shows how amazing he is. he can act as a hardened hitman but deep down he is a very soulful guy!😭

One damn amazing show that formed a connection with its audience and its characters as the show is watched. I thought everyone overhyped this show cause it would always be on the front page of Netflix. Watched it 5 months ago and just recently finished watching Better call saul's ending what a masterpiece of a show followed up by a fantastic spinoff and conclusion to all characters of the show

Both of my late parents LOVED Breaking Bad. Unfortunately my Father passed away from cancer before the last 8 episodes were aired & my Mother passed away before "El Camino" came out. For my Father, especially not knowing what would happen to Walt, was heartbreaking for not just him, but me as well. I watched those last 8 episodes on first airing with a heavy heart. I miss both of my parents so much. 😪

May they rest in peace..and who knows, maybe they were able to see it

I lost an old friend in 2012 and that was actually one of the thoughts I had, "damn, he never got to know how Breaking Bad ends." The show was just that damn good that even among the colder, harsher realities of life, you still thought about it.

I don't think I can ever watch it again, because it hurts to think back on a time gone past with her now gone. But I am so sorry for your loss! I feel you man, my mom passed away 1 month before last season of Game of Thrones, which we both loved. I also was watching with heavy heart but was thinking that she's watching it through my own eyes. Luckily we had a chance to finish Breaking Bad.

The show was addictive although it dealt with very disturbing subject matter. Some of it was hard to watch but it was a collection of great actors.

just finished this moving series and i wont ever forget this beautiful ending and how it has essentially proven everything that was warned and predicted to happen, did. this is a perfected series with every character carefully scrutinised to show the contrasts and finality of walter white a once good hearted man drove to death by his ego and his pride. incredible

They made it with common items you could buy. (except the m60 that’s not as easy to get, but still possible.)

Betsy had me in tears right along with her! This entire cast embodied these characters and made them all seem so real.

This is one of the best series I have seen till now. It engulfs u with a euphoria which Walter white creates.. less was known what this middle class man had envisaged for him as a drug lord. All the characters seem to sync in with the story.. Wish it never ended:)

What about Better Call Saul? Would you place it in the same place as Breaking Bad? Some like to say one is better than the other but to me both shows compliments each other so well. While at the same time both shows are able to shine in their own way. I love both shows 🙏

I'm trying to imagine the show without Jesse! I don't know if we could've had such satisfying series finale without him. They were partners from the very beginning and their rivalry in the final season is peak television! And carry it through final episode and still have a moment is just masterclass of series final! The ending scene in which Walt just falls dead on the floor with the camera zooming out, I was crying, it was like I knew the character did horrible things but I had this kinda smile as well. Kinda like "sleep now you genius bastard, I love you." A good closure, I must say. I'll never forget that.

This series was very popular because the actors loved each other and are still very good friends. The sincerity between them reached us behind the screen😊

It was a pleasure watching the reunion from start to finish. I will give it another run to binge again.

Amazing inside look into the making of the show from the POV of those who made it. It Shows what actually made it great beyond the plot and scripts and character arcs. It showed how the people who played the characters cared about each other, their own characters, and each others characters. Jonathan Banks’ final little segment explains it all. The emotion for the care they all had for the project and one another, and Cranston joking in return shows how they kept each other grounded while acting out such dark themes. In contrast to Gilligans previous drama the x files, it is know that the main characters hated each other off set. Which might explain why I like that series as a whole, yet didn’t mind missing any specific single episode, and missing missing an episode of breaking bad made me anxious, even though I could simply replay it cuz I had only missed it because I had fallen asleep while binge watching it on netflix.

Breaking Bad is timeless but I feel especially fortunate that I experienced the show as it initially aired. Not only did Netflix help people engage with the show in an unprecedented manner before its final season but AMC also did their part and aired 24 hour reruns of the first 4 seasons before the final season aired which is how I was able to catch up with seasons 2 and 3. It felt like the world stopped for the Breaking Bad finale and it truly was an iconic event in television history.

Awe John is such an awesome guy, and an amazing actor. Its so awesome to see he is just happy to go on and keep the story going but regrets that not everyone could come along and keep everyone together you can tell he appreciates what every single actor or worker put into these shows. I couldn't get enough of him as Mike, as much as I liked Better Call Saul and Saul and Kims relationship I wanted to see more of Mike and Iganico. Spoilers for those who havent seen it! I wanted Nacho to make it so bad, Michael Mando just owned that role! Same with Tony Dalton as Lalo, woah what an actor. The playfulness of him was incredible. He was so likeable for such a horrible guy, the scene when hes getting in his car to race around the track and Saul says he can't be his lawyer and hes like "sure you can! Come on" just the way he said it was pure gold. Man where did they find these actors? They all killed these roles!

Time is nothing but a concept. I think breaking bad and, better call Saul will always universally be a timeless piece of media we will always go back and watch in our life times. There’s just too many life lessons to even pin point in both shows where I have “been there” and sometimes reopens my mind of things we carry with us and value. Anna Gunn pretty much hits the nail on the head. “timeless aspect that explores human nature and how it delves in the human psyche.”

The reason breaking bad is the best show ever made, is because of its consistency from beginning to end. It started strong, and ended even stronger. It didn’t overstay its welcome. The character arcs were satisfying and believable. Game of thrones could have taken its place at the top of the list but the ending was disappointing. I have so many good memories of getting together with my friends every week to watch breaking bad. I really do miss those times.

As amazing as Breaking Bad is, I would argue Better Call Saul is just as good, if not a bit better. What a talented group of individuals working on this story.

@Kristine Bautz well that was the point of El Camino, it's where does Jesse go after this, and ofc it would go as fans expected because realistically that's how it would've gone in the BB universe and so what if it was fan service, we all figured Jesse would want out of the business after everything, and at the end he got his happy ending which the fans wanted to see. Nothing was wanted that was dramatic.

I personally just found it boring because it was everything I expected. Also others felt the same way, it was a "been there done that" experience. Todd tortured Jesse (yeah he did that in BB too), Jesse had to figure a way to get the money for the vacuum guy (probably since he just escaped the neo natzis), Jesse goes to Alaska (he already brought that up in BB and everyone figured he would probably go). So like i said it just felt pointless. It didnt add anything to the BB story. It felt like the only reason that they did it was just so they could tell the fans that walt was confirmed dead and jesse got away.

I just love that all of them can see and appriciate what they have accomplished. That it wasn't just another day at the job, but it's a genre defining piece of art. That they all loved and cared for the show all from Vince to the last extra. I hate when I see a movie's or show's behind the scenes, and it turns out that the actors or directors are just all "meh" about it, or the members don't like each other irl. It takes away from the immersion. They however... They get all emotional, and embrace the world they have built together. Like they are their own biggest fans, in a lovely way. They are proud, and boy they deserve to be. I'm so happy to see them this way.

Probably the best drama series ever produced for television. And right behind, Better Call Saul. What a masterpiece of writing.

i love this entire cast and show so much i feel their attachment to everyone and the show it was so incredibly made and i just love marie and hank and walt and jesse and everyone who brought it to life they’re all amazing actors and i wish there were more sequels/prequels or whatever to this than just el camino and bcs i would watch all of their stories and i’ve only watched bb once it was just so good

The thing that really makes me happy about this show is that they knew when it had to end and ended the main series even when it was among the most popular shows out there.* The story can only go so long given how dynamic it is, and how the show reached its climax and end is pretty much perfect. Of course we're going to keep getting spinoffs because who doesn't want more Breaking Bad, but that first series has one of the best structures from beginning to end that I've ever seen in media. *I know it's still popular today but you get what I mean.

I used to hate Skyler. The first few seasons, even the whole first viewing of the entire series, I disliked her for breaking Walt’s balls. Yet, at a second watch through, I really sympathized with her and realized that she was a real victim and Walt was actually the monster! That was some great acting! She did such a good job I didn’t like her, then I ended up feeling for her.

Don’t forget about Hank. He was a total d-bag for the first 2 seasons then he turns into one of the favorites

Yes I recently re watched after years and realized Skylar is the actual victim. The fact that she’s right 90% of the time too…but is lied to, left hanging and told she’s crazy over and over is sick. Plus how everyone HATES her for smoking (which is wrong while pregnant obvi) when Walt was literally killing people 🤨

Walt is actually the worst and one of the most toxic and selfish characters ever! Somehow still want him to win (most of the time). Such a brilliant show.

To be honest, I think everyone was a victim from Walter White. They've all suffered from him in a way. IMO the biggest victim is Jesse because of all the things he suffered.

I really was trying to tolerate walter until he poisoned brock and manipulated jesse, after that I was just thinking he HAS to die, and im not gonna lie seeing him beg walter jr to take his money kinda made me smile

Thank you Vince and all crew for one of the best TV shows ever made. And I find it absolutely hilarious that Jesse is played off as a dumbass but actually has some of the smartest ideas that saves their asses. Such as the magnet and the battery when they're cooking in the RV.

Like the cast and writers, the viewers have been emotionally invested in the Gilliganverse for over a decade and that final episode of Better Call Saul will be the end of an era for us all. @David A Last I read he was saying that he thinks after BS, despite having more ideas, he and Peter Gould feel they need to step away from the Breaking Bad universe for a while.

I consider this my favorite show of all time. I used to say Seinfeld was. But of course they are different kinds of shows. BB is definitely my favorite drama. Not only was it brilliant, but it has more of a personal meaning for me. Between the end of late 2007 and late 2008, I went through a period of anxiety and depression not matched by any other period in my life. I had lost a good job. I had trouble sleeping etc. It was a strange time. I remember Heith Ledger dying. He was my age and reportedly had trouble sleeping. BB was one of the things I looked forward too. I could go though all my favorite scenes and aspects of the show, but this comment would be too long. I will say that Anna Gun is so beautiful. So is the actress who played Marie. She looked so cute in this with her hair and her emotional recollection lol. Ironically, I watched the first couple episodes of Better Call Saul but it didn't hit the same as BB. It's ironic not only because of how much I loved BB, but I was a HUGE fan of Mr. Show! I had no idea it had mediocre ratings in the beginning. Good thing it wasn't on NBC or something. It would have been pulled.

One of the best show ever! The cast, story, script...everthing fits in here! And the spinoff better call saul is also really, really good! When iam watching better call saul i always thinking "every story line makes sense. did this story line from better call saul was planned from the beginning?" really brilliant! Just finished S06E09 from better call saul! Damn good!

I have very little respect for what normally comes out of Hollywood but this show is without a doubt the best program ever made. Every performance was a jewel. I can’t pick a favorite actor because everyone was so outstanding. What surprised me the most was how heartbreaking Hank’s death was. You really don’t like the character that much at the beginning. By the end you realize that he is truly a decent guy and Walt truly cares about him. Brilliant writing and acting.

Myself and my wife just finished binge watching this series and El Camino today. In 2008 my son at 7 years old was diagnosed with cancer, and for years I could not watch any stories related to the subject. This series is simply a masterpiece. There is so much in this classic tragedy to unwind in regards to psychology, social problems, and family dynamics. I had to laugh when my son called me today to tell me jokes related to the series, and I am grateful for having such a great family life. Now it seems that I will have to check out "Better Call Saul", as I am still reeling from such a great performance by so many talented artists.

You know what makes this show so spectacular?! You can actually see it in this interview. They didn't playing their roles, they lived it. Every single one of them lived their characters. The fact that Betsy Brandt didn't watched Hank's death scene tells me she genuinely lived as Marie, and this is a rare thing. After all these years it's still my no 1 show of all times. Johnathan Banks deserved an Emmy, as did many others in the show.

To see Walter White ( Bryan Cranston) go from the pure artistry of "Breaking Bad", to the star-struck nonsensical ala-ba-loop of "Your Honor" has to break your heart. It shows how important your supporting cast is, no matter your skill level. On BB, Cranston was surrounded by and supported by skilled thespian professionals, who had no trouble being the characters they were. They were like one of those crackerjack baseball teams, with everyone knowing their place, precisely and knowing what to do. Everyone was "on point", all the time and for several years. In YH, Bryon was surrounded by undercooked and overcooked hams with Cranston carrying the entire load. It was not enough, and painful to watch. Breaking Bad was riveting, from start to finish, episode, after episode. And Potent. The most memorable of this most memorable masterpiece's moments, are two. One was when after (accidentally) bumping Jane on her back, Walt had to watch her choke on her own vomit, because helping her, saving her, would be to destroy everything he was. As he is really a nice guy, his pain is palatable and believable, and the audience had to feel every moment. It was agonizing and thrilling (necessary?) at the same time. The second was when the white nationalist - drug gang- hillbilly - rednecks came to his rescue, and had figured out everything that was going on. Brother-inlaw Hank is about to get whacked and who had turned on Walt, and in a last gesture of pure love, Walt offers the red-necks everything he had to just walk away. Hank knew and the red-necks knew, that could not happen, and again the emotion was palatable. To listen to this interview, and learn these performers were as emotionally invested as the audience is refreshing, yet in hindsight is not surprising. How else could it have been?

Brilliant series and such superb acting by all.

I really want to see a spin off featuring more of Mike. I love how much of a role he played in Better Call Saul. I’d really like to see Mike’s beginnings. His character is easily my most favorite out of both series. I love how he will get his hands dirty, he won’t cast judgment, and at the same time he has this unspoken code or line that he will not cross no matter how much money or what he is offered. How Mike met his demise was totally unexpected. I didn’t expect him to get killed. I figured he would be like be like Shane, we’d see him riding off, maybe slumped over, not really knowing if he lives or dies.

I’d rather see a spinoff following Jesse and his adventures up in Alaska.

@gb Nonsense. Jesse is still alive. He is up in Alaska, he has a little brother still down in ABQ. His little brother could end up in trouble and Jesse has to head back and risk everything to save him.
