What I absolutely love is how for the movie, they had to bring in Canadian Mark Martel to sing some of the songs and I couldn't exactly tell what was him and what wasn't.

Малек довольно похож на Фредди - но он молод и выглядит тощим, думал что я это только заметил, позвал жену - сказала: "Да, непохож совсем, мелкий какой то". Фредди выглядит мужественней и серьёзней.

Малек очень вживался в образ. Я смотрел сюжет как он готовился к этой роли. Актёру тяжело сыграть Фредди. Это настолько нестандартный (извиняюсь, может слово не то подобрал) человек. Я до сих пор его слушаю! Мощно и неповторимо!

Most singing scenes in the movie rely on vocal Queen Master Tapes (Live Aid, concerts, songs) but small part of singing (show Queen practicing or Freddie interacting with a crowd) was a mix of Mercury, martel and malek. martel only sings happy birthday, Freddie's audition in front of the club.

It could never be perfect, obviously. But it's as great as it could possibly be re-created. I don't think they could have done any better. I loved the movie, because it gave a bit of insight into Freddie.

The CGI crowd in the movie looks so bad that it kind of ruined this scene. All the shots with the camera pointing to the crowd are so empty...

For 20 minutes England was ruled by a different Queen

My only nitpick is Freddie's appearance. I know he had an impressive set of chompers, but they went pretty overboard with the false teeth, and that moustache looks like you could peel it right off. Malek is a great actor and worked perfectly as a young Freddie, but he always felt a little off to me in terms of looks in the latter half of the film.

Actually this was them pulling back on the teeth, after first using a more accurate size. ;)

Freddie is more solid and masculine man, he has some calm vibes. Actor on the left side is too tense, too active. Overstrained. But overall it is very labourious work.
