@Hidden Desire My only comment would be to copy that cookbook a couple times for family use and put one in a safety deposit box for posterity so adds can be placed in but you dont lose the original recipes to mishaps

I definitely agree with the "throw everything in" mentality for cookies! My partner makes me cookies with chocolate, butterscotch, and peppermint chips in them, and they are my *favorite* cookie.

@smartbanter Andes makes them around the holidays - they're red and white chips, usually in a red bag. We tend to stockpile a bit to last us the rest of the year. :)

if I recall from the episode, his cookies were like, crunchy? so that's a whole other kettle of fish, I think the arrow girls were making something more like gingerbread type cookies, and Bobby had figured out how to make something more akin to Dutch butter cookies.

Dutch butter cookies as in the ones that come in the tins? Or the Dutch butter cookies made from the traditional Dutch Butter Cake recipe made into cookies? They are like snickerdoodles but no cinnamon, no cream of tartar, and sometimes with almond extract and sliced almonds on top. I appreciate all cookies of all types.

There weren't a lot of episodes with Bobby cooking, but you get the impression he took extremely well to it. I'd trust him to bake, grill or make an insane casserole.

When I was a teenager, my cousin and I accidently doubled the butter while making cookies. We both added it, not knowing the other one did too. The cookies spread out more than usual and were a bit greasy.

use mini chocolate chips, works fine, just dont add too many or it can ruin the structural integrity and they can split apart.

When I do it ends like a deep golden brown, just amazing how it changes the flavor, I mean only the butter smells amazing.

When I tried baking one right away, the finished cookie came apart in my mouth like sand. Like the sugar didn't melt or something. Also, the cookie still went flat eventhough I had to the oven and 320. Any advice out there?

The cookie recipe I use has a combination butter and shortening. Makes the cookie have a cookie dough like consistency.

My secret to delicious cookies is to add lard. (change half of the butter to the pork grease) and to substitute a 10% of the flour with cornstarch. They dont change the flavor but give you a beter crumb and texture

Only time I've ever tried doubling the butter in a dessert was as a teen making some "happy time" Betty Crocker brownies... I don't think we really cared much about the finished result. Would have eaten 350 degree brownie goop if we had to at that point lol.
