    #Berlioz #SymphonieFantastique #OrchestrePhilharmoniqueDeRadioFrance
    00:00 - Début du concert
    00:35 - 1er mouvement : Rêveries - Passions (Largo)
15:08 - 2ème mouvement : Un bal.

Viejotrueno when?

Vor Monat
Viejotrueno

@Steph Egan I said DIFFERENT set of skills... but yes, composing a symphony or a sonata, or a Lied, etc. is a much complex work musically speaking, you can think it's a wild accusation or whatever, but it's the truth. The fact that a score has to fit images and words necessarily diminishes its musical complexity. You have to craft short pieces, not very full, not specially subtle, in order to enhance the most dramatic movie moments. Film composers are restrained, in other words... To compose a larger, lenghty, complex piece of music for a full orchestra of 80 musicians or more, requires a vast knowledge of all the musical resourses possible. If you want to glorify musically a score composer or to compare him to the great composers in music History, then don't do it based on his film scores, but on his work in the pure field of music. And John Williams has many pieces, specially concertos. Otherwise it's like comparing apples with oranges.

Vor Monat
Steph Egan
Steph Egan

Viejotrueno so a score composer has less talent? I think that’s a wild accusation. John Williams is one of the most famous composers of our time. Who’s to say he didn’t take inspiration from Berlioz? The part I referenced sounds so similar to the Star Wars theme. You don’t have to read YouTube comments if they make you upset 😉

Vor Monat
Viejotrueno
Viejotrueno

what the hell has to do John Williams with this? the guy was a scorer composer, different musical skills... It's just preposterous finding people talking about the freaking John Williams in these kind of videos. He's not in the same league as Berlioz and the others, stop it!

Mariachi ? You mean the Mexican music ? It came out in 1832, as a result of Mexico's invasion by the French. In 832 ... Berlioz created this symphony in 1830. So, 2 years before the French invasion of Mexico, he predicted what will happen 2 years later ? Normal, he was French ?

What an irony. A piece of Berlioz is played in a room named 'Pleyel'. Berlioz loved a woman who later fell inlove with Pleyel. It is said that Berlioz galloped furiously to kill Pleyel but in the middle of the road, he finally dropped that thought.
