@Emilios Powerballer did you se that the urus is in fact a cayenne&rsq8 based ?? engine from the panamera and chasi from the rsq8, rear axel from the benteyga, and they are working in some electric 4 door sedan (probably a redesigned Estoque.) , working probably in the taycan bases, and of course the succesor of the aventador is going to be so similar to the sian (svj with electric delivery.) Probably another electric two door gt (Asterion or something similar) so now you know some of the future of lamborghini.

@Coach Actually Porsche already owns 10% of Rimac. But im not really interested in what Porsche does. Porsches reputation is the 911 and its main income source its SUV. Im more interested in where Lamborghini will end up next. Its clear that the Porsche family cares more about money than anything else

E-tron GT. Love the interior way too much. Everything just makes sense, it doesn't try to change it up and go ultra modern just because it's an EV.

True, but the Taycan tries to have this old 911 heritage feel to it, it’s like being in a true drivers car rather than a luxury GT.

Both of these are true to their styling language inside and out.

Me too. I've always loved the way Audi coupes look but this Porsche looks better. To me the headlights design makes it look better than the other Porsches

I'd personally take the Taycan based on the looks (the thing I can compare from outside). Driven the Taycan 4S and was mesmerized by the performance and steering feel, but have to try out the eTron. Doubt it will better the Taycan's experience though I rarely see well spec'd Taycans for my taste however, I feel like the Audi is easier to get it right w/o splashing so much cash on extras

I think I'm in love with the Taycan. The more Taycans I see on the road, the more I wish I had one😢 such a beautiful masterpiece of a production. Wow!

I would be equally happy with one or the other... they both look great, performance is amazing, interior well sorted... well maybe, just slightly I would prefer the Porsche because I'm still not a fan of the "grill" on the Audi and those very visible sensor underneath.

Such amazing vehicles. Twenty years ago, cars like this were reserved for science fiction, both re: looks and technology.

I would love if Audi gets to produce a 2 door version of the e-Tron GT RS. It would might look kinda like a Ford Mustang heheh

Seen a few nice taycans for last few months and just saw my first Rs GT today. Have to say audi was stunning way more road prescence that this film doesnt portray. Audi looked really special

In my experience, this is 100% true. The Taycan is beautiful but the times that I’ve seen RS GTs, they are breathtaking. The road presence factor is legit

The Taycan had blocked vents behind the front wheels because the car had the optional Electric Charging Port Doors. If manual then vents are real. Also the hump in the center of back floor is for batteries removed from the foot garages.

I just dragraced the RS E-Tron GT in the very same spec, against the 2021 R8 V10 Performance. And boy was I surprised by the result. I guess we just have to embrace the future...

Both cars are truly amazing and if you bought either one yourself then fair play but I personally prefer the Audi E-tron GT I actually had a test drive in one of these and it was an amazing experience I wish I had the money to afford it because I would definitely buy one myself 👌

For someone who loves the taycan, it’s looks is more than enough to beat the competition in my opinion, but maybe not in the colour

I have driven both and I have decided to buy the etron gt. It looks in reality way better than the Taycan and its more comfortable to drive. My friend have the Taycan and he said the same, that the etron GT looks more stunni!

Mat do ICE performance cars feel lacklustre after driving an electric beast like these? Like i'm wondering, would an e63s for example feel a bit boring after instant sledgehammer torque of an electric motor

I'd take the Taycan mostly because of the looks, but I do think Porsche screwed up with the interior. Also it's weird how WV has positioned these so close to each other, the E-tron makes the Taycan look like a bad deal, at least to me.

Wow even after seeing so many vids on the Taycan I had no idea it was an ergonomic nightmare. Porsche really dropped the ball, minus the headrest, all headrests should be like that

@Ho Lii Fuk Sports/Supercars can be ergonomic too, look at McLaren. This isn't a sports car it's an everyday sedan, Audi obviously saw the mistakes Porsche made.

What a surprisingly fascinating back-to-back review. As you make clear at the start, Mat, both cars run on the same platform, same battery tech, same spec motors etc etc yet they do still have noticeably different characteristics. Great work, dude - great review. :-)

Love the video I definitely prefer the RS etron because it has a better space than the Taycan and personally has a better design 😎

I've never liked Audi's and always loved Porsche but with these two cars I've switched around. I much prefer the Audi and don't like the Taycan at all.

The Porsches Brakes are massive! With the additional regenitive breaking that thing must have some serious breaking power

The Audi looks like they hired three design teams, who produced three designs, and Audi couldn't decide, so they just went with all three designs, putting them one over the other. It is extremely ugly. The side-on profile of the Taycan is its weakest aspect, and it still looks better than the three-in-one-Audi!

The net and the shopping bag hook can be purchased as a Skoda part almost 3 times cheaper than the porsche one 🙂

Slight win for the Taycan. Think I would go for RWD with all the performance upgrades.

A fair review of both cars, but is it just me or does the Audi look like they forgot to paint the front. Maybe with both in black it would give a fairer assessment of the comparative looks.

I was in love with the porsche exterior until I noticed the fake air vent.. this is one of my biggest automotive design pet peeves.. based on that one reason alone, I'd buy the audi over the porsche.

There is no fake air vents on porsche front ones(under the lights) help to cool brakes

Just FYI, the vent is only blocked if you opt for the electric charging port. Skip that option and the vent is not blocked, just like the Audi.

IMO Taycan has the best exterior because it looks like a Porsche, e-tron GT has the best interior because it has better air-con controls and Android Auto.

Also, 350km range is not bad imo. My 05 Mini Cooper S has the same range, and I fill up about once a week. Just plug in overnight and you'd never have to worry

in real world you wont get much over 250km, in winter 150-170km, basicly unusable

For most of the people Audi is still Audi and there are lots of old/new Audi's worldwide so i can understand the brand name etc but i wouldn't choose Porsche just because of the name but i would just choose it because of the exterior.

@SoleFreak It comes down to preference I suppose. I think the silhouette of the GT is more natural, and I think the front end looks better. I concede the Porsche’s rear is less busy, but those Audi lights are hawt.

@Todestuete well tbh the E-tron is the better daily car, as Matt pointed out, for one. Two, by different I meant breaking the trend of just buying the Porsche cause it has a Porsche logo on it. Obviously, you’re free to do as you please but choosing the Porsche is going with the flow just because most people would choose it simply because it’s a Porsche, even if it’s a worse car in every single other metric (not saying it is).

I really don't like the black bumper on RS etron GT, so the best looking premium ev sedan in my opinion is the standard etron GT. Plus, so glad Audi ditched that stupid two screens layout very quickly. Physical climate control is the best

I like the e-tron wheels and for some reason they remind of the ID3’s but the e-tron gt has limited choice:(

When Audi first announced the e-tron GT and showed some pictures, it was a bit of a _"WOW"_ moment. Similar to when you're in a bar and a stunning girl comes in. All the blokes sit up and have to look with jaws dropping. But now, it seems to have been "Dulled down" by Audi. I'm not saying it's bad looking, It's not. it's good looking, but it's just a bit "Meh!" now. Which is a damn shame.

The solid roof of the E tron GT makes it the better choice for me and my wife. The last thing we want is more sun in the car.

Porsche has taken the electric car wold by storm with its Taycan, a vehicle that is almost unanimously praised by anybody who drives it. But now there’s an alternative to the Taycan, from fellow VW group brand Audi that has created its own vehicle based on the same underpinnings - the E-Tron GT.

2:44 I notice for the first time that the Audi and the Porsche have a pretty similar silhouette from the side. I'm surprised that not only is the base the same, but Audi has also copied the design of the Porsche. That's why I like the look of the Porsche Tycan Cross Turismo better!

e-tron's colour ruins it imo, if it was that darker grey or maybe a forest green like the RS6, it'd be way better. The new dogshit EV license plates don't help either.

The Etron gt is a detuned taycan, so i would expect the porche to have midly better performance (on track with some GPS meter, not felt IRL) But the design of the Audi is amazing, when the one on the porsche is quite crappy (at the front) If I were to ever be in the position to order, clearly the Audi would be my choice between these 2.

I don't care, i find it fucking ugly at the front, the headlights shape and those weird things under them do not fit anything, not any porsche design language nor any heritage, nor do they have any meaning or useful presence, just some gimmick that doesn't fit at all.

The Porsche isnt crappy, atleast not to me. In my opinion the Porsche is Way more elegant.

The interior of the Taycan is so much better than the e-tron — especially the infotainment system.

I’ve seen photos that make it look like the rear windows don’t lower all the way on the Audi.

No joke - it's the storage package. Also turns that shelf under the climate control screen into a usable cubby. Source: I drive a Taycan Turbo (the storage package is standard in the US).

When you compare them, the audi rs e tron is the fastest ev of audi, but porsche has the taycan turbo s, which is mental fast (drove it one time). I would pay more to get the turbo s.
