I had come to the same conclusion about these (and similar games) years ago by using a highspeed camera and recording myself playing it over and over, only to examine the footage and find that there was no correlation to when I pushed the button vs. where the light would stop.

I noticed this too when I would try this. I would always be one behind or one ahead. Had no evidence to suggest it was rigged, but this was so consistent for me it made me question if I was being scammed or not.

Not true at all. I worked for a company that is contracted by the NY Gov to audit slot machines. They aren't rigged. But the odds are heavily against you, and makes it virtually impossible for a casino to "lose", as long as they keep the place popular with lots spending money. The machines aren't rigged or cheats. It's all odds. And you jave terrible terrible odds.

This is not completely true for all arcade ticket games. If you play skeeball, basketball, football, down the clown, go fishin, Tailgate Toss, etc those games have point values that the player needs to beat, and if they do beat those, they win a number of tickets or jackpot. I used to see videos of a person constantly win Tailgate Toss over and over again of 500 tickets. You need skill. Most claw games are definitely rigged though, and those aren't ticket games. The ticket games besides this one that are the worst rigged are Color Match, and Stacker. Those are so bad you have no idea. Stay away from them unless you want very tiny prizes.

This is why I stick with claw machines. Not that hard to figure out how they rig them, and use that to your advantage. All you really have to do is know that the item falling is almost guaranteed and make that part of the strategy.

Well there was an arcade in Genting where I could reliably get the jackpot around 8 times out of 10. It was a great ticket farm. Guess they forgot to rig it.

these games, claw machines etc all have a win or payout setting that can be set by the operator no different from 80's arcade games where you can set how hard it was via dip switches

@Samozd It is in the US. It's not in the UK. They can just ask you to leave. (At least that was the case about 7 years ago where it came up on the TV show QI.) For example you can buy keys which show you how much money is in arcade machines to see whether it's even able to give you the jackpot. Normally they'll set the machines alarm off but they are completely legal to use.

I have insane timing and could win on games at [famous arcade/bar chain] and I finally got fed up when the machines were obviously rigged certain days. The company wrote back, and in "fancy talk" ADMITTED the games are adjustable.

At least physical games are obvious when they're rigged. Rigging these digital games should be illegal (even more than physical ones should be).

I figured it out through trial and error. I’ve hit a jackpot on these machines every single time since I was in the 4th grade. Just play on the cyclones with higher reward offers because that means enough people have already lost in order to let you win

@Terryn Sloth again...it all depends on where you live. Most slots spin their reels at random. The odds are against you all of the time. It's just like playing lotto...you are looking for that certain combination of numbers, you may get them but the odds are stacked against you.

@Varr James They are absolutely rigged. They are rigged to guarantee the casino earns profit. If it were truly chance, casinos would have the chance of losing LOADS on the regular. Yes, you still have a chance of winning, but it's legal to set the code/timing of the machines to only pay out so often.

I played one of those mallet games at the carnival once. It's basically the same thing as this except vertical. I tried 3 times. 1st time w the given mallet. 2nd try because I got slightly invested. 3rd try I said these are rigged anyway and I did the lightest tap w my palm instead of the mallet and hit the jackpot. All those tickets and the prizes were awful. 360 degree rip off lol

when i was a kid i tried one of those things and was confused when i saw exactly where it hit, so as a test it hit the button when it was 20 lights away and it jumped to one of the sides. i didn't think it was scammed, i thought it was broken. XD
