@willowakiokami complement exists in both British and American English and means addition, the word "compliment" is spelled the same way everywhere. Gray/grey actually isn't either a word that is spelled in a certain way depending on where you are - both are used, just more frequently in one of the countries. Colour/color and neighbour/neighbor on the other hand are spelled different (the US naturally being the ones too lazy to write the extra letter u haha).
