The scariest thing about this game is just how shitty Andy's "friends" are to him, straight up bullies lol.

Ok but the lore is Andy and his friends were all real humans. First the Andy’s son, the fish guy, died while on the water with Isabella. Andy blames Isabella, the moon, for his death. Isabella goes to her mom for comfort. Her mom, the dog, comforts her blah blah. Andy then pours gasoline around the house then sets it on fire, causing the mother to die. Around this same time, Isabella watches Andy kill his best friend, Clause, because he’s been hanging around with Isabella. Then Andy dies by the evil being and they all get put in the game. Andy didn’t want to do any of this, the entity Peter the Pumpkin controlled all of this. He made Isabella hesitant about saving her brother from drowning. Every time Andy got angry, Peter would turn that into next level anger. So basically, his friends should be bulling him cause he killed almost all of them. We don’t know how Isabella died yet. I think suicide.

For those who don’t know, the text at 15:44 roughly translates to: “But it wasn’t her fault. We weren’t alone on that boat. I don’t blame her.” The thing mark dragged at the bottom of the water’s floor was the body of a kid. If you lift it straight up instead of dragging it you get a news report of a 10 year old boy who went missing after falling off a boat. His sister (who was also in the boat) returned home, but the boy did not. (Edit: wanted to also add a cool fact. If you walk against a certain spot of the trees you can walk through it and find the girl crying on the boat saying “I didn’t mean to. What will mom and dad say?”) If you want more information about this games story then watch game theory’s video on it. The creator (who replied to someone on his comment) confirmed that matpat got it mostly right.

The game also has themes of death and guilt, and while it is paired with the supernatural, those things are very real, and I think a game with simply aspects of those, although possibly difficult to think of, could be interesting. But this is not that game.

The scariest part of this is when Andy is asked if he wants an apple and he just stays silent. He was so confused he had no response, or perhaps it was for a different reason. Either way he knew it wasn’t a joke.

Ok. I'm starting to notice that every time the trend of people playing new horror games Mark is always late to the party....

Personally I think he lets less popular media artists upload first because markiplier knows him getting high views and likes is generally guaranteed whereas other YouTubers have to grind to get content out first to be seen. A lot of other media artists don’t have their own editors either so it takes them double the time bc most have irl jobs and families to care for. Also have to think that most games probably are already recorded but it takes days of editing for hours of video. And with as much as I’m sure he’s pushing out lixian has a lot on his hands.

That's probably because most Streamers and YouTubers need that revenue from playing the game early. Plus that's pretty much what the majority of them do...play games and get views(hopefully). They still have to edit and everything but for the most part, gaming is what they focus on. Then there's Mark. 3 Podcasts, Choose Your Own Adventures, Cloak, charity events, filming in Canada, etc. in addition to his YouTube videos. Mark has been working on Space for a while, so he is coming back to "Catch Up" as it were. Kinda like when he went to Canada and did a lot of Simulator games but once he got back he covered some of the other games that he had missed. Mark was talking about how he was away when Security Breach dropped and said something like "I wanted to play it, sure, but I wasn't going to drop everything for it. The people that wanna see me play it will wait or they'll watch another playthrough and then they will watch mine when I put it out." He's right. Mark doesn't really have to follow the waves like others do, because of his position. Which is a good thing because we get great content from his passion projects, as well as our normal uploads. TLDR: Mark is being Mark and all is well.

I wasn’t raised in a way conductive to social stimulation, so I may be wrong, but Andy sounds eternally disturbed throughout the entire game. He sounds like he knows something is wrong but can’t act out else he ruin the player’s experience. I also heard it in Claus’s voice too right after the I Spy segment, but mostly Andy. The shakiness and unevenness of his voice helps build the atmosphere for me, and I think too few people are talking about it.

I usually hate anything involved with horror, but when it's games like this or like the "Walten Files", I actually really like it.

Horror is very poorly constructed and generally a bad genre that nobody understnds most of of all ht whth ppe making it. It not. not ood . nUt if not enjoying because scard then just holy hell not good actuall preutt pathetic and undrage, not oogd, not good, not good.

This is honestly a really neat game. There’s a lot of secrets in this one where you need to do some stuff in the minigames to find more of the story.

This seems really strongly inspired by The Walten Files, there was a part with a game that looked a lot like this, and some of the creepy art is reminiscent of the style
