Trace the 7,000 year old history of alcohol, from its first known origins in China to cultures all over the world fermenting their own drinks.
--
Nobody knows exactly when humans began to create fermented beverages. The earliest known evidence comes from 7,000 BCE in China, where residue in clay pots has revealed that people were making an alcoholic beverage from fermented rice, millet, grapes, and honey. So how did alcohol come to fuel global trade and exploration? Rod Phillips explores the evolution of alcohol.

Alcohol was around for centuries as a component of wine and beer*, but it was not identified as a separate compound. The first person who discovered pure alcohol (ethanol) by distilling wine was a well known Iranian/ Persian alchemist by the name of Mohammad ibn Zakaria Razi (864-930 AD). He was born in the city of Ray, south of Tehran/ Iran.

Actually, they found evidence of beer like liquid remnance in stone recepticles at Gobekli Tepe ca. 13,000 years ago. Even the Sumerians can beat the 7,000 years ago in this video as drinking water near a city could kill you, so they paid workers in Beer as it says in cuneiform tablets. I had been told there was some evidence that stone age communities in the northern isles of Scotland may have inadvertently discovered fermentation when heating heather beer inside stone buildings with slanted ceilings. I can't cite a source but feel like this wouldn't be included in a guided tour without any justification. It would place the discovery of fermentation about 4000 years earlier than you say.

"Homeland of Wine" - this is how they talk about Georgia(not state, but country - "Sakartvelo") as the ancient homeland of wine. The discovery of Rkatsiteli grape jugs of grapes of a period of more than 8000 years indicates the high level of development of winemaking in Georgia at that time. It is scientifically substantiated that Georgia is a country where people have "cultivated and domesticated" wild vines.

If we refer "Rigveda", an ancient Indian text composed between 1500 & 1200 BC, we find the procedure of preparing a drink called "Somras" or "Soma" drink. This was produced using a plant "Somalata", origin of which is unknown and debated among the modern scholars and researchers. In this process, the juice was distilled in the last step and then it was used. So, I think distilled alcohol was available and used in India since 1500 BC. Please verify the facts and correct me if I am wrong. Here I got some supporting data, you can also refer to this for further info.: https://m.tribuneindia.com/news/archive/features/a-home-made-high-638237

It's hard to say who invented it really. These types of videos do not highlight the fact the data for alcoholic drinks in different parts of the world is independent of the last sample they found in a particular country/region. For example, most western historians attribute discoveries to Greece or Egypt but in Asia, countries like China, India and Iran have been doing these things and much more from times immemorial. The samples may or may not have survived but the texts and manuscripts tell us a different story.

Middle-Eastern scientists used distillation extensively in their alchemical experiments, the most notable of whom were the Persian Jābir ibn Hayyān (Geber), the Arab Al-Kindi (Alkindus) and the other Persian scientist Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi (Rhazes). Geber is acknowledged to be the father of the science of chemistry. He established the principle of classifying substances by their properties and invented equipment and techniques for isolating them. His technical innovations included the alembic still, whose principles still govern the production of alcoholic spirits.[6] ve Zakariya al-Razi invented alcohol did u even go to school?

Who ever tried to ask in a library for the book: "A short story about alcohol" may wonder... You will receive an empty glass. No alcohol remains inside yet, however, this makes sense, since alcohol is volatile, i.e. it always escapes, presumably because it is criminal or something. You can' t actually read anything, but that makes sense, after all, we are talking about a short story, not a long one, and since alcohol is involved, which impairs memory, plus the whole tale was short, no one could recall it, so they never wrote it down in the first place. Booze is now history, has disappeared, vanished into thin air. Thus, these days, we do not really do not know much else of this short but empty story. Look, it's not a book, it's confusing! It is blank, that is confusing! My mind can't make sense of books and empty glasses, which again makes total sense since it's about alcohol, which is a neurotoxin for sure and so it most certainly will not make anyone intelligent! It does however exist, the brief history on alcohol, Except your own personal glass borrow a book ( it should be short enough not to be long) put it on the top and you will see why this is what it is, That' s how one can recognize it as what it is, namely a brief history about alcohol. Fascinating
