Not only that. It's on par with restomod prices. The craft on it is high quality. That shifter is really nice + you get proper infotainment not a barn build. I also think they have lower end builds that are fun and less scary than clif diving into a teapot.

I own a Hellcat & even I was rooting for the Cooper. That thing looks like it would be an absolute hoot to boot around in.

@Juls Hall if you can't "distribute" the power to the tires you are slow. This is the typical mistakes big power fans make. You think making a car fast is just the engine. It's not. You also need to focus on making the car deliver that power. Power is only good if you can use it.

I’m amazed that that Mini driver didn’t need a trailer to drag his massive balls along. Putting that much power in such a short wheelbase is scary as heck.

Naw yeah it super short but what helps keeping it from dragging the bumper is it’s super lite weight so it doesn’t hook up great. Put a bigger tire and prep it most definitely would be a wide ride.

@Ivan Weapon That's not true at all. I've seen the power band of my own personal and MANY other N/A builds and on honda engines the power band is FAT. ESPECIALLY on the Vtec engines. He's banging the limiter because his wheels are spinning. There's no difference in what part of the power band you're going to be in between banging the limiter and shifting 100rpm early. the DIFFERENCE is if you DONT bang the limiter and your tires are spinning, your engine bogs down to the WHEEL speed, which is LOWER than the gear ratio difference between 1st and 2nd. Banging the limiter on a FWD car on big slicks happens because even though it's up on the limiter, it's still accelerating incredibly quick, and throttling the car would cause it to completely fall out of the power band. but again, it's all about wheel speed and traction.

I know for a fact the costs in building cars and trucks. But I’m not gonna argue with you over I’d be happy too send you links and info too help show you what I’m speaking about and can get you in contact with on of the best fab and chassis guys in the east coast as well as acouple motor builders too give you prices and what pricing is for labor. If it was cheap everyone would be doing it.

@French onion well the time you buy and get the car imported and then build the motor and everything else involved in building the car into what it is. And labor isn’t free. Most definitely something I’d never buy or build but I’d say that price is correct and the fact the car is in California I don’t think he is bs anyone. Hell I built my 2020 Cummins and it will gap a hellcat red eye challenger being I have outran acouple of them. And I wanna say being my buddies truck is like mine but has a smaller turbo making 780rhwp I’m forsure over 800+ and I’ve go $34k in the build. Doing the work myself. Done fuel turbo cp3 and fully built trans and studs and I’m in that deep on price. It doesn’t take long for the price too go up on a custom on off build with a built motor and all.

@Geoffrey it doesnt matter how much time goes in. These small things indicate that it might not be that well built which is what the argument was about the level of finish. Stronger latches and the pipe pipe after the muffler should be attached better. These are easy things to fix and shouldnt be issues in a 200k build.

@Kevin Martinez The Hellcat Charger is a badass car, don't get me wrong. I just wish they didn't weigh as much as they do. Kinda like wanting to have some cake and eat it too I guess; extra weight inherently comes with 4 doors.

@Rotor Head they're still pretty damned fast at rolls and tbh, all the high powered competitive RWD cars are just doing roll racing in the 1/4 mile. Granted, hellcats get dominated by anyone with a Gen5 viper and deep enough pockets at anything over 1500hp or very well sorted out Vettes

@Cardiak EXACTLY!!! All these guys spouting off about how you can get 1000 wheel horsepower on a regular Hellcat with bolt-ons are guys that don't know crap about what all is involved. Calling the stuff you have to do "bolt-on" parts is like calling a full engine swap "bolt on". "yeah lets just swap engines from car A to car B, its all bolt-on right!" Any moron can get a 1000 wheel horsepower car with a huge nitrous shot or spinning your supercharger warp speed but either way you are going to break all kinds of shit every single week. Is unhooking and removing the fuel tank to add double or triple fuel pumps as well as all new fuel lines from front to back "bolt on"? Or milling out metal inside your supercharger and supercharger snout "bolt-on"?

@Tom Bryant not all companies that manufactured mini have good records. The UK ones have the best records. Mk1 doors and windows cam be put on any as they are the same shape apart from the external hinges . African minis Australian minis Leyland minis rover minis all have slight differences and often had a mixture of parts from the factory. You have you're head up you're arse if you think every single mini built was documented and that they all had 100% of the correct parts . They won't stop production for a small part . It's happened often with American muscle cars they either run out of parts or have to many so they will either use the older parts on the next model car or use the new parts on the old model. There goal with the mini was mass-produced cheap cars

@Rob Van der kroft There’d be no Mk1 parts left over in 1974 to use in the then Mk3 cars. Build records are also very well documented, so I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from. What parts from a Mk 1 would fit on a Mk2? Windows, nope. Tail lights, nope. Hydrolastic displacers?

@Tom Bryant I said mark 2s were made in 1974 .but that some factorys had left over mark 1 parts which made there way on to some mark 2s . I had a 1975 mark 2 Leyland. That's in New Zealand

This is the first time a Hellcat has ever won on Hoonigan. The place they race at sucks and is covered in dirt and not prepped. That hellcat is probably 1 or 2 seconds faster.
