You at least have 4 dps : Amber, traveler, lisa and kaeya. Build them and you'll go far. Stop hiding behind excuses. A lvl 90 4 star dps with lvl 9 talents and good stats will ALWAYS be better then a 4 healer team comp.

I've been playing for a little over 7 months, but I'm still a little lost when it comes to building characters the right way. Sure, I can kill stuff relatively easy, but sometimes I just get frustrated about how "mediocre" my damage is compared to others. This video helped me see things in a new light, as someone who's ar 55 but is really just a beginner that happened to play for a longer time. Thank you. Edit: now I've been playing for over a year, at ar 58 and I don't really care much about my damage as most of the time the solution is just to farm... And to farm... And to farm for better artifacts

@GamerDaniel007 as of September 1 I’ve been playing Genshin for one year now, yes at that very time I had been only playing for three days. I now have 15 five star characters, 13 five star weapons, I’ve done every single quest in my quest log to the point to where there is nothing left to do but wait for the next archon quest / zone update… and I’m still enjoying the game. I’m so glad I’ve never run into you in the game, makes me even happier that this game is multiplayer by choice, because I wouldn’t be playing with you that’s for sure. I played elder scrolls online for eight years before I started playing gentian, I thoroughly know how to re-search a game before and during playtime, that’s how I was able to make such a comment with only three days in game.

same, brand new to the game, only 2 weeks into it. and every video talked about "perfect sets" blablabla, or "energy recharge" blablabla, I switched up to crit rate crit damage and man my dps went through the roof. this was golden.

@David King well i have a melt team... nothing special. bennet, xiangling, ayaka, and diona. new to the game. and i've been trying to farm "sets" that point say are good with them. But i'm way too new, AR42 i think... swapping to crit rate on bennet pushed my dps through the roof. been doing the same for the others as well.

@David King well, non reaction non crit on everyone is around 2k... non-reaction crits hover in the 4k range, but once the reaction crits start to roll, (my team is all lvl.70), bennett will start pumping 10k numbers, ayaka will easily hit 12k on her crits, xianliang doesn't hit high on her crits (3k) but she reapplies fire for ayaka's reverse melt reactions. the team just melts through bosses now. most content gets sorta trivialized to be honest. Diona is more a ice applicator for melt reactions (usually bennet) her damage is almost nonexistant, but i mostly have her for the heals and shield. and i'm nowhere near where i need to be on crit rate yet. and i'm sorta open to replacing diona, but i'm not sure with what yet. i like the +15% crit rate i get from an ice character. her healing is sorta unneeded with bennet around... but still i do like to have it when bennet is on cool down.

Ive been told to do the ar ascension quest now and just start farming high lv domains for artifacts even after i told them that i cant even clear lv60 domains much less lv80+ domains. This was much more helpful than those ppl in the comment sections.

@Bailey Dombroskie wait I gotta ask what were you doing to not be able to beat of 60 domains with ease, like I just want to fullfil my curiosity. Also people only talk about artifact sets and that other sheep cause they think everybody already understands how game work, but maybe not for some people. Remember tho the most important thing is that you have fun.

@Hh i dont know wat im doing wrong do beat a domain that is as much as 10 lvs lower then my 4 girls. I just go ham right from the get go. I try to get as many damaging and useful elemental reactions going as much as possible and just try to kill them asap. U know that domain that drops the artifact sets, defenders will, chrimson witch, and lavawalker. Well it as u shud know has 2 stages available to me rn. Id ont remember exactly but i beleive it is stage 1 lv59 team recommended, and stage 2 lv69 team recommended. Well i tried it last week again after lving up my characters, weapons, talents and getting a couple better artifacts sence the last etempt. Well i know that stage 1 is no problem at all. Average run time of 2mins and 30secs. No issues at all. But stage 2 on the other hand... as it has a 10 min timer i cud not kill all the enemies in that 10 mins and if not for noelles shield and healing i wud have died b4 3mins passed. My entire team except noelle had gotten wiped out by the time the timer went. That fucking abyss mages shield was soo fucking tanky even with the power of my entire team at once they cud not break it quick enuf. I tried breaking it for about 3 mins straight. Noelles and xianglings bursts got used once and fischls and klees buest got used twice trying to break that shield and it barely was enuf along with all there elemental skills and normal attacks.

@Bailey Dombroskie it’s because you’re not using the correct element to break the Abyss mage shields. Hydro is the most effective element against Pyro shields, so bring a Hydro character, preferably a catalyst user like Barbara, to take it down.

@A K barbara is the only hydro character i have and sence i dont mind her at all, she not even close to my fav but im ok with using her, i tried her out instead of my xiangling. Well my team did even worse then last week. I cudnt even kill the 2 large hillichurls in the 2nd wave, right b4 the pyro abyss mage appears. My entire team except noelle got wiped out b4 i even killed those 4 pyro slimes. I made a screen recording of the fight and the team i used afterwards. If u wanna watch it to get an idea of wat im doing wrong and right i can make a small edit for safety reasons and post it on youtube or somewhere else if i can figure it out.

Thanks for this especially for the part where you explained how much we need to raise the crit rate too and not only crit damage. I have always wondered why my heizou does very little damage even though my CRIT DMG is high and it turns out my CRIT RATE is only 12.34%. I look forward to seeing more videos like this in the future ☺️ .

That last tip at the very end was actually solid. I spent thousands of primos trying for Nahida’s weapon. Lost the 50/50 twice, hours before the next patch. I was salty but my overall account damage went up like 25 to 30% due to weapon refinements, Constellations, etc…

I normally keep Rosaria, Fischl, and kokomi on my teams. Kokomi is great for her elemental skill. It both heals and sets out a water effect which can be great with Fischls elemental skill and qiqis elemental skill and Rosarias elemental burst. Barbara works really well with qiqi as well. I personally like the set up I have as I can set it to certain enemies and then go over and deal with other enemies if I use Rosarias elemental burst with it. If cryo damage doesn’t really effect the enemy much sometimes I’ll use Diluc or Yanfei to cause melt. I’m typically swapping between Yanfei and Traveler as my fourth character because I like the travelers elemental burst and skill. And I just generally think Yanfei is fun to play

The stats over sets and the crit dmg and rate thing helped me a lot, my highest dmg before used to be like 3400, now the highest dmg I've done is 54k and my charged attacks usually do at least 9k :D

I do all this but Paimon's damage is still zero. T_T

I always love this kinda topic, getting off the ground in games is often the most interesting part as you're not on your overpowered setups yet, but with gacha it's especially important. One tip I always give: Pick up those 4pieces that don't need stats to be valuable, 4*, +0 for all I care. Viridescent Venerer only if you deal good pyro/hydro/elec/cryo dmg, it's completely fine at AR40 if you're struggling. Also, TTDS!

I'm working on building all characters cuz i want them all to be useful especially in the spiral abyss. Thanks for the tips cuz this helps me believe even more that they all have potential

Be prepared to spend money on the game because there isn't enough resources in-game to fully power up all characters. It's suggested to focus on maxing one or two characters, or so I've been told

@devin its working out, i'm not in a rush, one thing i learned us not to stress over it and i still get thru events and missions. I found that some of the characters, if you give them the right stuff, theyre strong in the waiting line alone. 🤷‍♀️ its ok

Honestly the best guide video I've seen on this game. I love this final thoughts on channeling your energy into building your current characters, rather than being salty about losing out on new characters. You need more subs - you deserve it!

These are some fairly accessible tips! I'm going to try and use these to help me clear the ascension quest I'm currently stuck at.

my biggest crit was 12k ! i’m really proud of it !! it was during the raiden fight and the crit was done by heizou !

1.) Understand enemy resistances. Send the incorrect element to battle, you position yourself at a disadvantage. 2.) Resource Prioritization. Equip the best artifacts to your main DPS. Look for artifacts above mediocre, better if it has Crit Rate and Crit DMG substats. * Hold back on fully upgrading artifacts until you find a better one. 3.) CR/CD Ratio. Having a low percentage of CR is like waiting for a once in a blue moon with a High Percentage CD. 4.) Stats over Sets. (I don't comprehend this too much. Sorry.) 5.) Team Building. Have the proper alignment of characters that benefit each other and using the proper ones for the right situations.

"Send the incorrect element to battle, you position yourself at a disadvantage." Why do i get reminded of FF7's legendary "Attack when its tail is up..."? "Stats over Sets. (I don't comprehend this too much. Sorry.)" It means that if you have to chose between artifacts that don't give you the set bonus but have great stats or sets of crappy artifacts, chose the former as stat bonuses outweigh what you'd have gotten from the set.

Not just elements, but weapons as well. Shooting arrows at a stone isn't very effective. Try to know what you're getting into and prepare a team suitable for the encounter. For number 4, what he's saying is that 4-piece set bonuses aren't that important. That's just icing. Just slam all your generically great artifacts onto whatever main DPS you're using at the time, and let everything else support that singular focus. Keep an eye on your DPS's more aggressive stats, and get them as high as you can, rather than spreading sets to each of your characters.

Pretty sure stats over sets is choosing the stats that the artifact boosts over the ability that the artifact set gives you

If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected .” “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle." “Attack is the secret of defense; defense is the planning of an attack.”

Same — I’m at AR 54 and have done hundreds of wishes and have zero 5-star characters. It’s been a challenge, but with guides like this, I’ve been slowly but steadily improving what I’ve got! Bennett, Xingqiu, Xianglin, and Heizou have been fun to play with! Diona as well! I realized how good Bennett was waaaay too late, and now it’s super hard to farm resources :(

well if you procs pyro then swirl it with anemo, the pyro damage goes brr than the actual damage from that pyro character just pump a lil bit of ele mastery

also for characters like lisa, ningguang and sucrose who use stamina while attacking, we should give them artifacts related to stamina. as for others, we can use the artifacts dealing with damage and crit rate

Wow this is a nice and helpful guide. I see many people saving up on primos for the new characters, winning or losing their 50/50s, whereas I'm just pulling as usual. When I first started playing I didn't expect to like Genshin characters so much so that I've decided 'wow I'm having fun working and experimenting with whatever characters I encounter, someday I would like to be able to play them all'. Therefore rn saving primos for wishes or 50/50 doesn't have much meaning to me, I already have 15 characters and currently my biggest wish is an anemo character other than Traveler, but I'm happy with whatever I get.

I don't know if what I'm doing is right regarding building my team but I find that having electro and pyro in my team to create overload really helped me in a lot of situations coz it is really effective against most enemies. But I change my team during boss fights. That's why as much as possible my other characters that are not part of my main team should also be of the same level. I ascend their weapons but I don't really level up their artifacts. I'll just swap artifacts when I need to put them on my team.

Well like myself i don't use as much vaporise but i have Raiden and Deluc and if i use her 2nd main move i can transfer her power to Deluc that gives his 2nd main move epic overload damage. This is a really good suggestion for those that have these characters. You can also transfer from Raiden to other characters aswell. Transfer to Barbara and you can get raidens skill ranged then also using a healer. Then you will do supercharged damage

You're a lifesaver! This game is probably the most complex game I've played in terms of needing to keep track of a lot, level up a lot and then of course the grinding as well. My bf who plays WOW definitely helps me. Lol. But my characters are only level 80 and I'm trying to defeat some tough enemies to progress my adventuring level and obtain some super important leveling up materials.

Yo man, I'm fairly knew to Genshin, been grinding and got to AR35 . . . this has been by far the most helpful video . . . thank you! My only gripe is that I didn't find it sooner, lol

From the few characters I have, my main team has become Beidou, Barbara, Kaeya and Heizou. Idk how technicly good it is, but they work well for me. In the artifact side, well I prefer balanece so all of them have a distribution between the different stats as I feel like. I've never thought of foucing in one stat improvment, I manage that focuse based on what I see in a fight, if a charactersrecives too much damage I will improve the defense, or if I feel like other lacks Dmg I will improve the Atack and Crits. But I never did that actully focusing on that... Did I explain myself? xd

For me, it's always either A. a team with no shield ablilities, but has good healing B. a team with no healing abilities, but with good shield I usually prefer the latter, but I really need to level up my Barbruh and my other healing characters (just in case)

4:25 I'm glad for this chart. I went from around 30% ratio to 98% ratio for 3 of the 4 characters I use. The 4th is yaoyao and i need a healer for hu tao to knock out 20k dmg consistently without dying

i was doing the release all shards quest and the third one in the cave seemed impossible to me but thanks to you and actually using my brain by picking up those red crystals i got it first try

For me it's hard to be patient with this stuff, after building one dps character (that I try min maxing occasionally) only now I realise about potential of stuff like national team, supports, talents, the amount of farming I've yet to do is insane

My best tip is, pay attention to character talents and actually take the time to read what their DMG or shields or healing scales off of. I played for a year before finding out that Bennett’s scales off his base attack, not attack %.

Finally a helpful build guide channel that doesn’t just tell you to get a 5 star character party with max 5 star arficacts!! You are my savior 🙏 🙏 🙏

I'm a new player of about 3 weeks, and I didnt really get the artifacts until recently and these guides are helpful. My main team usually has Razor, Barbara and Rosaria with the 4th being a wildcard. Barbara was my first hydro character and I just like Rosaria better than Kaeya. Lol

I'm only at AR 27 right now, and kind of lacking on variation in good characters, so I'll take what advice I can get. I almost always feel like I'm lacking in damage and/or unable to fully use a team I set up. I have a decent elemental combo team, but I'm still not entirely sure when/how to use Sucrose in there, even though I know she's supposed to be a decent support.

Recently I’ve been having trouble with genshin it’s become so boring cause it takes a million years to defeat enemies I’m AR 40 so I’m really hoping to learning more from this channel!

Basic question concerning EM. I know the EM of the triggering (second) character is the one that matters for the reaction, but for chaining skills/bursts that go on continuously, how can one truly dictate whose gets applied first and second (or even third), when they all apply at different frequencies? Given the above, it seems EM is only good for characters with one-shot explosions like Yanfei, or at a slower predictable rate like Thoma's burst, so the sequence of application and trigger can be controlled. And to calculate further, how much more beneficial is EM over raw attack and crit?

You made a very useful video without saying basic knowledge everyone hears in video's like this and without knowing what characters I have and use. I must say, I'm impressed.

Usually, when me and my friends are fighting a boss or something that is has one of the elements, we like to search up their element’s weakness. Although, what we do know is that Claymore swords are good for fighting Geo, Pyro is Electro’s weakness, and Hydro is Pyro’s weakness.

I've read most of what's in this vid on the game itself it actually tells you elemental reactions and what it does The elemental resistance just came to me naturally since enemies elemental res is based on the color itself one of the things I commend genshin is the design and how they make it work with the palle of colors they are limited to

Xiangling + Lisa in the open world is bonkers, just a bit awkward at times, but its something everyone can use and deals massive damage especially if theres grass around, i found that its very hard to get a good physical damage character for your starters however... This is something i feel is imporant for having one solid all around team, what i hate about it too is that i got kujou sara which scales way better in physical damage than anything ive gotten so far but... I cant ascend her cause im not far enough into the story yet 😠 thats the one really fucking annoying thing ive encountered Im fucking around with lumine a bit, seems alright, but im not really sold on it, im ar 37 something like that You made me realize crit stuff was useful so thanks a lot for that, wasnt sure what it boosted but seems it boosts everything

xiangling and lisa isn't really that great because they cause overload and it throws smaller enemies away so you have to spend stamina to run around with them. try xiangling + xingqiu/barbara or lisa + collei

also sadly physical damage isn't really good in genshin, there are like 3-4 characters who can do solid physical damage and two of them are 5 stars and one of the 4 stars is considered to be one of the worst characters in the game... so you have to learn how to play using elements. it's really fun tho.

I got zhongli on his rerun and this has basically saved my acc because i do ~ 20k dmg with his burst with no feather and circlet and he is so good

my damage was 999 for diluc and went down to 933 even though i didnt change anything, everything was the same, same as other characters like noelle her damage was 1100 then it became 626 etc

@Ash Fuentes To be entirely fair Bennet is among the best supports in the game as long as you don't C6 him. He combos with so many other characters and a C1 poorly kitted Bennet STILL allowed me to get all stars in Spiral Abyss floor 12. He's legit so fucking good.

My barbara has 10k hp at 40 cause i optimized my artifacts its something i reccomend for people who use her. All of the artifacts are t3 or lower so not much grinding

i’ve literally been playing this game since release and my best crit it 6k with xiao. i basically gave up playing for a while because of how horrible my stats are, but i’m beginning to start playing again, so hopefully these tips will help since i have no idea how to build characters or use artifacts :,)

I think a good 2 set artifact is berserker which gives you +12% crit rate if you're lacking

This reinforced what I have spent over 100 hours figuring out on my own. I just used these theories to take my Rosaria from a wet noodle to my top DPS for my whole account.

The first tip is good on paper, but when you bring into the equation that you don't have the resources to be spending on levelling a full team to max until very late game/end game unless you're whaling, then it becomes more complicated You want to be hard levelling one, max 2 characters and saving your resources for them as appose to levelling 4+ and ending up with no resources to level anything, so then if you start saying to bring the right element, you bring your under levelled sucrose and she can't do any better if not worse than your maxed razor A better tip would be to hard level one or two characters so you can brute force the resistances until you get the resources to level other elements, then bring those in when they are able to actually do anything.

I agree! I use Lumine(traveler) as my main character just because she's my fav, and im a simp. I gave her the best artifacts i have rn and tbh shes kinda op... I only struggle against opponents that u need geo or pyro to beat.

You fools, ever since I finally developed a second brain cell I've been able to do my E's in order to do elemental reactions (With meh artifacts still isn't a big deal but it def is an improvement)

@Chris Monge yeah, i use keqing and bennet to use overloaded reaction and it does a great amount of extra dmg

I really struggle with understanding the numbers on stats and keeping track of all 5 for each. But I get the general gist. That said, I usually work teams that do well with element reactions so tend to focus on element mastery and recharge. I also make sure I have 1-2 members that do support while I can switch between the other 2 in battle. I know this video is old now so but one of the teams I have now is Mona, Yanfei, Nahida and Raiden which works really well. The damage numbers have shot up massively since focusing on the elements. You just need to think about the character and what you want to use them for.
