The mind bender, for sure!

If you want to have chipped metal, you can use toothpaste as a masking fluid. A thin layer can be laid down and allowed to dry, and then painted over. Dried toothpaste is very crumbly and an old toothbrush can be used to wipe it away without scratching off any extra paint.

LOL! I LOVE your builds but I must admit I have thought they could use a little color. But I also realized that was your style choice. I do think it looks SUPER nice here, though. Still grungy and old and run down, but the color adds extra interest and the chipped paint is another added layer of detail and storytelling. I don't think I have commented before, but I really love watching you make things. You have so many fun ideas and really prove that all you need is some glue and trash to make something awesome. I am not a gamer. But I love dioramas and I intend to use ALL your tips and tricks.

Whered you get that yellow and blue hobby knife? I'm having trouble sourcing ones like that with the metal internal guard. The one I found doesn't have the metal and the blade wobbles just a bit. It looks like your NOT having that problem. Am I mistaken?

New to your channel old timmer in the hobby side with 40k since 2nd edition and many other tabletop games. I noticed your comments about the imperfections or mistakes during build but I actually encourage those from time to time to give things a more realistic view. Even in real life construction morphs over time or never build right from the start specially in ear times. Battle Scars!

Did you thought about using lollipop sticks for the small pipes? They could be cheaper to come by then the styrene rods.

I found some (100) on Ebay for 4€ Maybe it is easier to find them Under Cake Pop Sticks.

I used some Qtips in my most recent build. I dont know how or where i would buy a bunch of lollipop sticks tho

great build, its really giving me some Kenshi vibes, like its a house from the black desert city, that is if anyone knows what I'm talking about

The salt chipping method is a tiny bit easier than you think and could have been used on this model. Instead of hairspray you use a tiny amount of water to make the salt stick and afterwards you just brush it off with a stiff brush. At least that is how other people on YouTube do it, I have not tried it myself. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

If I may be so bold as to leave a suggestion, If you mixed that elmer's/white glue with paint to achieve the desired color, you could drizzle it/let it run down the side of a tank or pool it on the ground to make it look like a leak/spill, and the glue would really give it volume

Another wicked build man. You should do a run down electrical substation. Lots of little fiddly bits which would look awesome. Transformers, insulators, fencing and high voltage equipment. A few charred bodies... That would be rad!

Thats a mistake, i cut and pasted several of the links from the desert fort video and that one mustve snuck in. It could be used for panels or strips on curved surfaces though

the buildings need some color or graffiti or something to break up all the rust and silver metal. the paint job undersells the amazing work that you did building the hideout.

I add graffiti as campaigns progress based on memorable kills and victories that happen on the terrain
